U.S.S. MANTICORE BRIEFING #1370 STARDATE 52606.29

Manticore remains docked at Starbase REDACTED enduring extensive repairs. Meanwhile, two teams have been sent out on crucial missions. Bren, Annika and Pilot have been sent to a civilian research base where they will attempt to retrieve Bren's stolen Ketracel White data. Upon arrival they noticed how eerily empty the facility is. But the amenities are 5-star! Angela Reed has presented Bren with the job of... finishing his own research. While Bren worked, Annika searched through the computer and discovered some unsettling work derived from Bren's original research. She also found an admin terminal that could be used to finish up their mission. Unfortunately, it's nowhere near by. Faldek, Harnett and Kansas have been sent to a secret Section 31 station as they attempt to snuff out potential spies within the organization. Faldek and Harnett met with the station commander, Captain Kellerman, who will be working with them to find the spies. They began their investigation, first by looking at the flight craft and now by beginning their interrogations. Kansas, in the meantime, is doing some sleuthing of her own... in other people's quarters.

::in his RR with the new ensign standing there nervous; he can almost see her whiskers shaking:: So engisn, how much did they fill you in on our unique mission parameters?

:: He tried to probe what was going on, but could someone tell he was doing it? ::

::nods:: Of course, Sorry, my mind was elsewhere for a minute. I'll get that list to you ASAP. But, like I said, anyone could've seen it off the roster.

::enters TL and heads to sickbay::

::Thinks for a moment, staring at the samples, before calculating an enzymatic solution that would absolutely denature the samples, turning them into useless (or even poisonous) chemical mixtures. Rather than be quite so direct, he replicates a shallow basin, several liters of water, and three precursors for the enzymes. He'll mix his own batch to make it just slightly less obvious what is happening. Some stirring some mixing, and Bren ends up with the basin a few inches full of the destroying additive::

Well I cannot do my job without knowing who to question. Is there a mess hall?

::checking his sidearm and for his mek'leth:: Guide away.

"Not much, only that my skills would be of use to you, Sir. Whatever the challenge, i know I am up to it." :she purs lightly, her tail swaying excitedly::

::walks over to a console and looks at her PADD, illuminating the first set of arrows:: Just follow the arrows on the wall panels.

:: arrives at Tabitha's quarters and stands in front of the door.....kinda savoring the moment of being a pain to Franks...::

::after a few more twists and turns in the hallways, leads Faldek and Harnett into the mess hall::

::Bren replicates a holding rack filled with test tubes and their stoppers, more than enough for a sample of each previous attempt, and carefully places it on a workbench by a wall, giving him a little corner to work in that would be highly difficult to monitor with cameras. The basin of solution goes into the corner, then Bren synthesizes a standard cleaning solution, a basin, and a few liters of water, and mixes a basin of the standard cleaning solution, leaving it in the replicator tray. After a few minutes he stacks the new basin on top of the old one, turned 90°::

:::Slips out of the closet and sneaks towards the door in the dark::

::A little annoyed command keeps sending in unprepared crew straight from the academy:: Well, this is special ops. Most of our missions are classified which means you must be tight lipped about everything. Your personal logs and communications are regularly scanned for classified intel being leaked. Not that I expect you will but it's what we all deal with in this line of work. Your skills are, certainly unique, and I'm sure security will make good use of them. But keep in mind, not everything we do required an itchy trigger finger, or in your case, claw. There are plenty of areas you can branch out in if you decide to reach out for them.

::avoids raising his eyebrow about to whisper back to McKenna...and then hears Erich::

::synchs the arrows to Pilot's walking and iluminating the path to where he needs to go, flashes the arrow indicating where he needs to turn --a few lefts and some rights::

I also want you to get familiar with this ship as we are not a standard Nebula class. We are afforded many toys before they go out to the general public. We also have plenty of classified tech on this ship that would get Starfleet in a lot of trouble if it was ever leaked that it not only exists but is in use.

:: Feels an emotion of anxiety with light contentment ::

::to Erich:: If Dr. McKenna thinks you might be mentally compromised, we would need to run some more tests before clearing you for work. You can rest while we are scanning you.

::Replicates a few dozen brand new laboratory pipettes and moves to his corner. Standing as close to the table as possible, where a camera would have to be right overhead to see, he soaks them all in the enzymatic solution for several minutes, before replicating another rack, placing it to his left for additional cover. Each glass pipette goes into the rack to air dry. Perfectly normal laboratory procedure, clean your equipment even fresh from the replicator.::

:: gets into bed and takes a reading PADD with her...dimming the lights..::

Unfortunately, the XO is out on assignment at the moment, otherwise he would help get you familiar with things. Once he's back I'll introduce you as well as the security chief. In the meantime, your quarter assignment will be sent to you on your personal padd. But first and foremost, I need you to get to sickbay for your initial examination.

::grabs his coffee:: I'll send you that list as soon as I get it, Commander. I'm heading back to Ops. Give me a call if you need anything else. ::exits the mess hall::

:: approaches Kenickie , her hands behind her back ::

::straight down a long corridor, leading to a large door -- the arrows stop there::

::Still examining the replicator::

"I'm feeling a strong emotion with them I think, and want to clarify something."

Well well if it is our new recruit.....forgive me I have seem to have forgotten your name...You are???

::walking through the maze of corridors like it's second nature, thinking::

::stops at the large door, looking at the arrow::

::Moving between the cabinets and the corner setup, he brings each sample jar to the table in turn. A very clean pipette is inserted into the sample, a full pipette's worth collected, before being injected back into the sample. He speaks to himself, having the computer record his comments as lab notes:: "Post-aeration, sample 1 exhibits unexpected viscosity for the protein basis which should have been used. Need to look into that later, if we have time." ::Then he collects the fluid a second time and transfers it to a test tub, which he caps. The tainted samples are put back into place, the used pipettes are put in the top bin to remove all traces of the enzyme compound:: "Post-aeration, sample 2 exhibits expected viscosity, but unusual hue....."

::Salutes, turns and leaves. She walks her way, partly using her senses, and partly what she knows of ships, but still manages to get lost several times. She eventually finds her way to the sickbay, stopping in the door to be alert to the room::

:: approaches the Ensign litterally in her personal space :: Well Ensign, I expect to see you bright and early tomorrow for combat training. And I will not be merciful.. Understood?

:: I must be a frequent problem for medical Erich thought ::

:: Eyes Faldek for a second :: A coffee...

"Um. I don't think I have to wait long doctors."

::steps up to the replicator and orders some hot spaghetti noodles with maple syrup on them:: Ah yes.

::looks over at the door:: Can I help you?

::Pulls out wires and sticky probe at the end of them:: Lay back

::enters Ops::

He made it to the administrators office. Hopefully, he'll manage to log in and get what's needed.

"I am R'Miine. Here for my physical.... I got lost a bit..." ::her ears are batted back, and her tail swiches irritably::

understood sir, I wouldn't want you to take it easy. on me or anyone it would be of no use to the federation

::looking at the door::

"Uabhasach..." :: is unable to see who is at the door from this angle ::

:: Steps up to the replicator beside Faldek :: Coffee, black

::orders a peach tea as well and takes his bowl of noodles in syrup and walks over to a table::

::checks to see if there's any access required to enter the office::

:: continues her rounds...deciding another night to harrass Franks ::

::Nods and heads down the hall:: great

:: Jolts a bit. This ability made little sense, but so did a lot of things ::

:: Picks up the the coffee cup and walks to the table, sitting down ::

::gives Vulcan salute with his right hand:: Greetings, R'Miine. I am Doctor Tevek, CMO of the Manticore. You are in the correct location for your physical, please come in and take a seat on biobed two. ::gestures::

::sits and pulls out his PADD, sending KK a secret encrypted message::

::::opens her tric, getting Faldek's message::

::After a span of time that can only be described as feeling "too long", each of the samples has been tainted and replaced in the cabinet. As he puts the last sample in, Bren sees a sediment forming in the first one he worked with, showing the effect is working. Then the two basins of water are poured into one to confuse things. The basins, the combined water, and all of the test tubes and pipettes go into the replicator intake. Bren goes back to the consoles::

:: Looks over, eyes wide. Could it be? ::

::nods with a pur and moves to the bed. She sits, and her long tail wraps round her body:: (edited)

::message reads "in mess hall"::

::sits in his chair in Ops, pulls out his PADD, begins assembling a file::

::Heads to the mess hall::

:: snickers at watching Chang being in the new recruit's face on the monitor.....if only her were not spying on Franks, he would of seen Kansas run out of another officer's quarters.::

:: Eyes Faldek's spaghetti noodles in syrup, and looks at Faldek :: Interesting choice....

::finds the door's override controls and unlocks the door::

:: Lifts his cup and takes a sip ::

::opens his medical tricorder for the physical; gestures with his head towards the others in the room:: R'Miine, these are Dr. McKenna, and Mr. Jaenke, our Chief Engineer.

::searches the console for restrooms, mess halls, and looks at maps to figure out a way back to the shuttle bay:: I think I'm about ready for the next phase of our research

Oh, Time Between Sim. So how much time has elapsed between one sim and the next.

I typically just make it immediate if we're doing stuff that needs to continue. But some times it could be minutes to hours.
