MISSION BRIEF: The Jellyfish situation has, escalated, with the large creature now seemingly dumping massive amounts of energy directly into our warp field coils, threatening to overheat them. Also, in case you missed the ACTION, a subspace field seems to be forming around us and it. No idea what THAT could be about, I am just a humble game master.

"Huh. Look at the subspace bands there."

:: She was no engineer, but she could tell the power was having a problem across the ship. She hastily tapped her badge, but the chirp, or was it chorp, indicated it did not connect to the network ::

Irene thinks on her feet. “Tuning the subspace radio to counteract the field could buy us some time. I don’t think we want to touch the warp drive right now.”

Williams burst through the grate into Engineering. “Alright, what are we looking at?”

"Maybe we can boost our signal on the frequencies it uses. Shout real loud at it?" (edited)

She finishes Wade’s sentence he didn’t know he left unfinished. “But at the opposite phase, which would cancel out some of the energy.”

Wade gives a shrug that says "Yeah that's a better idea"

Rex> Shrugs

ACTION> Warp core is really bright and zooming through cycles like mad

ACTION: The subspace field is also intensifying quickly, within 5 tv minutes, the computer estimates it will be strong enough that we will jump to warp.

I agree. Especially without being able to contact Engineering.

ACTION> TV 5 Minutes starts to come to a close. Alarms in engineering begin blaring as pressure inside the nacelles begins backwashing into the core itself AND the warp field is now at similar strengths as those required for warp speed.

Irene dramatically hits the subspace radio transmitter button on her panel just before the commercial.

“Oh God. Get to the lifeboats!” William starts ushering the engineers there.

ACTION> By god, we rolled gooder. The subspace radio inversion treknobable unscrambles the comms and apparently gives the jellyfish the idea we uh, well, we're finished. It jets off at WARP SPEED leaving us behind. maybe he's just going out for smokes?
