USS Manticore - Mondays 10 ET - Command Staff: (CO) Captain McFly, (XO) Kansas Kenickie

U.S.S. MANTICORE BRIEFING #1356 STARDATE 52603.23

Manticore has been sent to a planet just across the boarder of Cardassian space, where the Dominion are searching for the materials needed to make Ketracel White. The crew is hoping to find a key mineral in order for Starfleet to target the planets containing it and decimate their White supply. Manticore sent a science module down to begin testing for the correct mineral all while Starfleet Marines battled Jem'hadar on the other side of the planet. But they had eyes everywhere and spotted the away team quickly. Manticore intervened but got attacked by ships warping in. The marines came to aide but one of them mistook Faldek as the enemy and the two went flying over a cliff. After taking too much damage, Manticore was forced to retreat leaving the away team on the surface and still under attack. They finally reached DS9 with McFly barging into station ops and asking a huge favor of Captain Sisko. Back on the planet, the Marine Commander sacrificed himself in order to bring down the last Jem'Hadar fighter. The away team are safe in the module but its power is nearly depleted and they don't know when Manticore will return. EJ, along with the only marine not wounded, set out to obtain a power source from the downed Jem'Hadar fighter while Bren and Annika stayed behind to try and accomplish the original mission they were sent here for. Meanwhile, Faldek spent too much time trying to convince the marine that he was not a spy that a wandering Jem'Hadar attacked wounding him but saving the marine. As they got nearer to the module, they heard weapons fire in the distance. When investigating they discovered Pilot and SF Marine Danah in the middle of their mission to retrieve the power source.

Well, let's go inside and see what's going on. ::steps out into the open, hoping he doesn't get shot::

::takes a deep breath:: Even if I wanted to help, I don't have the crew to man the Defiant right now.

::readies the type 2 and puts his knife in his left hand, reverse grip, edge out and quietly makes his way towards the hatch ramp::

::peeks at her terminal:: I think there's still some Jem Haddars firing at us. Shields are holding, but I don't know for how much longer.

I do. I can use my people. In and out, I'm not looking to get into a battle here.

:::walks back onto the Bridge and takes a seat in the BIG chair::

Thanks, but I can't imagine us staying here. Plus I'm a Betazoid, secrets are tricky.

Yeah, absolutely! I have no problem with that.

My guess is we are going to hitch a ride back to that world....and our security elements will go back in force to rescue the survivors.

I loved the heat, most of the people with me whined about it. I found it refreshing

Mister Worf, Captain McFly will be needing the Defiant to retrieve crew he was forced to leave behind on a planet in Cardassian space. I want you in command. His people will man it.

Yes, based on what we collected and what we detected on scanners, I'm pretty sure they can create ketracel from the resources on this planet.

Well, I can plug my mineral analyzer's battery back into the ship, it'll give us a little more time. We think we have enough data and answers.
