TBS was 4 days. We are about to begin our mission to the 5th planet aboard the 8274. (Still taking name suggestions).

We'll be able to test a short warp jump, sensors, navigation, and shielding. Should be a good outting.

::glances back to see everyone onboard then raises the ramp::

Looks like we're about ready ::checking display::

:: Arrives at the engine room :: "This feels smaller than Starfleet's Defiant class."

((Tempted to joke that we could paint it if sh'e'd prefer a different color))

Medical and science are green.

Operations is green.

(There is no engine room, more a closet and narrow crawlspaces)

Operations NPC on Aegis: +8274+ Aegis here. Patching vector through now. You are clear when you're ready.

+Bridge+ "Engineering is a go, coming up to the bridge."

Okay, and we're off. ::brings the ship gently off the ground, then forward and upwards::

+8274+ "Have a good flight. I'll be watching from here."

::quickly gaining altitude, zipping through the clouds::

Feels just as agile as our simulations.

I think we got the controls well tuned.

Leaving atmosphere now.

Feels good, systems seem stable.

ACTION: The front view is filled with the planet, a small gas giant with vivid colors

Putting us in a high orbit.

Now remember, civilian ships have had navigational problems in orbit. So keep your eyes out for anything.

::hears the captain and nods::

We'll raise shields just incase there's more radiation than expected.

Okay, let's test everything out and also see if we can pick up some of the satellites and experiments left behind.

"The planet's magnetic field is a bit high for a body of this type. Wonder if the interior composition is different than expected."

Understood, full spectral scan and cross referencing from the civilian ships and their experiments

::stands up and starts walking behind each station, inspecting::

::nijil:: I believe that was what some of the scientists were trying to figure out.

"This would make a good place to hide."

:: Meanwhile :: "Their ship is at the coordinates, but we are having trouble getting precise readings." :: pauses :: "What's going on at that gas giant?"

Not sure how long something could hide down there.

Upper atmosphere is highly charged and once you get away from that the pressure turns extreme.

They can't really. Unless they modify their sheilds.

" Would have to be at just the right point."

They would need a cracker-jack engineer

Well, one of our targets is a probe that was sent into the atmosphere. It was designed to be buoyant enough to not drop to a crush depth. But it never relayed it's data.

::looking at Jyl's board:: I can see some of the satellites. Any still active?

::pulls up the info on the probe::

Having trouble getting anything from them, but we'll turn up the sensors a bit.

Wonder if there are just some radiation belts around that are at the right - or wrong, depending on how you view it - position for the probes.

Possibly. Data looks intact.

ACTION: Computer beeps as it processes the data, finding an unusual anomaly

"What has the computer detected?"

Hm. Some anomaly.

Replay the data from that timestamp.

Hmmm... let's take a look.

::replaying::

ACTION: Sensor feed picks up a large object falling into the planet, about 100 meters long and 30 meters wide

:: Looks at the playback puzzled :: "What is that?"

That's...a bit large for a probe.

Maybe a ship?

ACTION: Readings look like a ship or part of a ship though only low power readings. Almost like a cargo pod, as it seemed empty or shielded from scanning it's interior.

Maybe part of one, but it doesn't look like a full ship.

Too shielded to get anything from it.

::presses a button and waits a moment:: No computer match.

ACTION: Last of the data picks up a similar reading from within the atmosphere a few hours later, which again is picked up at random intervals.

This is just weird. There seem to be similar readings spread out in the feed.

Multiple or is it picking up the same object?

Checking ::scans the readings::

Can we piece together the data and predict where it might be now?

This craft is NOT going to hold up to much at all in there.

Let's find it first then we'll see what's the next step.
