MISSION BRIEF: The Crew Is Back Together! Power is still out in the Hidden Bunker, which is presumably why the weird rock wall disappeared again. The team now must decide if they want to continue to explore the so far completely empty hidden bunker or return to the starfleet side of things and wait for Excalibur to re-establish contact. Rex> Still standing in the dark, looking kind of into the room with the conveyor belt and wondering just how they managed to get all these missions. Like which god had he annoyed in a past life? Sure there was that temple on Sansaka III that he may or may not have defiled with Ensign Kubaran from Engineering when he was also an Ensign, but those gods were slain by the Kubarans, right. Right.

William stood with the rest of the team, looking with Rex. “Well, we’re certainly in a right pickle aren’t we?

"I don't think so. We're not even in active danger."

Clark> Did you have to say that.

Rex> Yeah, usually Will is the one who, well, wills such things into reality.

Is everyone alright?

“You cannot seriously believe such superstitions, Rex.”

"Don't worry sir, I had my fingers crossed when I said it."

Clark> Probably. It was a pretty nasty looking storm system.

Jalen> Frowns Well. We might as well check this place out while we're here. Clark and I will go back to the Starfleet bunker in case Excalibur tries to contact us.

"Aye sir." to Chocox "We're pretty sure no one is home but the local computer systems."

Rex> nods to Jalen Sounds like a plan.

Rex> We'll we've opened door 1 and 3, I guess we can open door 2?

(there's a third door at the "north" end of the room we're in rn that we haven't opened)

Wade shrugs and opens the door

Jalen and Clark> Head off

ACTION> This door opens into a set of stairs that lead downward into the dark. Oooooooo

"Of course."

“Down deeper? What could possibly go wrong?” (edited)

"What's safer than being underground? Being double underground. Surely that will stop whatever being underground in the first place didn't stop!"

"Whelp. No time like the present." Wade turns his head lamp to a higher setting and heads down the stairs

Rex> Nods and motions for Indura and Will to follow.

turns to Rex “When did the Ensign get put in charge?”

"I'm more than happy to let a Lieutenant take the lead into the dark unknown facility we don't understand." Wade calls back

rolls his eyes at Rex as he heads down. “I’m coming, I’m coming.”

ACTION> When they've descended about twenty or so feet, why its this deep who knows but you know props department is happy its dark down here, they come to a large with high ceilings, but like virtually every other room in this dumb place, empty.

Any doors?

Rex> Shines his flashlight around Double doors on the otherside.

William sweeps his light around. “Has to be something.”

Rex> At least it wasn't filled with lava or something.

“Oh, and I cause the universe to do random things?”

"Yeah nobody needs another vast pit of mutagenic goop."

Wade carefully makes his way to the double doors.

ACTION> About halfway to the middle of the room, the floor switches to a metal grating implying there is perhaps a vast pit of something below them, but its too dark to see anything. Thankfully.

"Watch your footing."

(( The floor is actually painted with a sign that says BOSS FIGHT SET PIECE ROOM ))

“Thank you Ensign.”

:: looks down :: Mmmm.

Rex> Mmm Metal grating. Never a good sign, just, uh gonna keep walking.

"C'mon double doors, show me something informative."

"Anyone have any interesting theories about what this place was for?"

(( at last! the dice have not abandoned me! ))

(( Don’t make me tap the sign. ))

ACTION> As they approach the door all four of them feel something, like the unmistakable feel you're being looked at from across a room. In each of their heads comes a question. "Who?" ( respond to it in quotes, it will just be in your head but your characters won't know that.)

“What? I’m…you don’t need to know that.”

Rex> Compelled "Commander Rex?"

"Identify yourself"

"Mother?"

ACTION> Will feels a sort of raking across his mind, like someone running a nail across file. Wade feels a sort of strange buzzing feeling in his ear and then immediately "I am, here." Indura gets a feeling of confusion, as if her response illicited a bit of laughter but nothing more.

“Ow!”

Voice> (to Will) "Who, are you?"

"This reminds me of when I was interacting with the local computers, Sir."

Voice> (to Wade) "We have seen you, yes."

“Chief Engineer of the Excalibur.”

Voice> (to Indura) We have been called many things, never that though. Unless you are, saying yourself?

Voice> (to Will) The Excalibur? A ship?

“Yes.”

Voice> (to Wade) He cannot hear you.

"Odd."

ACTION> Will feels a sudden pulsing, whatever the voice is, it is now searching Will's mind. Flicking through memories and thoughts.

“Ooooooooooooow”

Voice> (to Wade) You are capable of much, yet you choose to use... primative communications.

Wade reaches out with his mind, trying to find where the voice is coming from.

Voice> (to Wade) Amused You seek but will not find unless I wish it.

"Primitive, perhaps. But safe."

Voice> (to Will) Ah, I see. Your Federation is... impressive. And your species? Primative in some respects, but in others. Most interesting. Most interesting. I have not had such interesting company in many, many years.

ACTION> The Voice, whatever it was, sudden;y withdraws its presence and the four individuals realize that Only They heard their own conversation with the voice.

Wade opens the doors

William looks in. “Huh…”

ACTION> Its a stairwell, this time up. Because this place is lol

"Sure, whatever."

"Clearly the product of a higher intelligence, this place."

“Apparently it’s Cardio Day.”

"Up we go."

"I'm now assuming this facility was meant to host whatever the hell our collective brainguest is."

ACTION> At the top of the stairwell is, you guessed it, another set of doors.

Rex> What if he's just the AI.

Rex> You let any kind of sentient mind just chill out for years at a time by itself and it's probably gonna be a little weird.

"Yeah. The literature on what happens when you leave LCARS architecture active but unoccupied for extended periods gets wild." Kicks open the doors

Rex> I assume it was a he. It was awfully pushy.

ACTION> Its another room with doors! Almost identical to the one towards the entrance.

"And of course the locals made it psychic, because why wouldn't you make the jump from typing to mind beams?"

Rex> It liked my response, it wanted to know what we were doing. I said exploring. Then it said it had other things to do, for us to keep looking around.
