MISSION BRIEF: Part of the away team is continuing to explore the secret, alien part of the bunker while Clark and Choccox are checking the generators tos ee fi they can be restarted.

"That's rational. It's full of people sized vats."

William walks into the communications building with Clark. “Well, what do we have here?”

Wade has his tricorder out, trying to figure out why the trackball zapped him.

Clark> I somehow knew oyu'd be excited by a hundred year old piece of technology, like a sirens call.

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::done poking around, he headed back downstairs to see how the others were faring::

ACTION> When Jalen arrives at the Secret Door, there is instead just a rock face wall.

[Duhn duhn duuun]

“You’re not? How could you not be excited?”

Clark> Why would I be excited by a 100-year old generator that is less sophisticated than the replicator in my quarters. Hell, probably my sonic shower.

Rex> Using his tricorder as well, but he hadn't found anything particularly interesting.

“It’s part of our history. Aren’t you in Ops?”

Clark> Again, doesn't mean I like vintage starfleet technology!

"Strange, I'm not detecting any sort of active security feature."

:: Examining the vats ::

Clark> Maybe its tuned to something biometrically?

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::befuddled, he began to examine the wall:: Hello? Are you guys in there?

"...or I got unlucky with a static discharge."

Rex> Shrugs

Wade very carefully and slowly reaches for the trackball again.

ACTION> The can, not, in fact hear Stanton. Spoooookkkkyyyyy

ACTION> The trackball once again, provides, albeit slightly less, zappy zap. Like this time just a mildly uncomfortable discharge,

"Hmm"

"I'll leave this one for the engineers."

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::pounds on the door / wall::

“Well, this is still amazing to see.” William walked over to the generator and started looking over the generator.

ACTION> The wall feels very stable, very rock like!

ACTION> As Wade pulls his hand off it, he feels something, like a suggestion almost, giving him a sequence of buttons to press on the keyboard. Triangle, Double Square, Circle, Circle.

"Yeah sure, why not." Wade inputs the sequence. (edited)

Clark> Frowns and nearly jumps at a loud thundercrash outside The communication array is good shape. Looks like the override kicked in and broke the circuit before any damage could bedone.

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::takes a step back to examine the wall and then the controls that Will disabled:: What in the world...

“Well that’s good. If we reset the circuit we might be able to make contact again.”

ACTION> The door to Wade and Rex's immediate left opens, revealing a hallway.

Rex> How'd you do that?

"I felt a suggestion from the console."

Rex> Looks at him like he just grew a horn

William pulled off some of the paneling and started getting his hands into the guts of the machine.

Clark> Sits down at the comms station and slips the ear piece back in.

"Sir, look me right in the eye and tell me you couldn't name 50 weirder things that have happened to you, personally."

Rex> Look, the incident on Kata Manoya doesn't, doesn't count. But you've got a point. Just uh, let me know next time if you get any other, uh, suggestions?

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::checks out the other rooms to see if anything had changed::

(( Star Wars? In my Star Trek? It’s more likely than you think. ))

"Will do sir. Maybe the uh, local builders had some tech that interacts with psychic phenomena?"

I don't like going further and further into these places.

"I'm grasping but it's the only thing that comes to mind."

tries his comm badge "Commander Stanton? Can you send the engineers back down here when they're done with the generators?"

Rex> You are a Vulcan afterall. I don't pretend to understand Vulcan mystic stuff. Nods to Indura I tend to agree. Deeper into this maze seems like a bad idea.

ACTION> Static on the old comm badges.

Tries a second time even though that has never, ever worked

Rex> Lifts a brow. Wonder if there's something in the walls interfering with the comms. Let's head back.

"Aye sir."

Clark> I wonder if the solar storms have cleared out yet.

"From a security standpoint, we seem to be okay. If anyone is home they're in a cryo sleep."

“Honestly, probably not.” puts the paneling back and flips the switch

Rex> Yeah, I still don't like it. Motions for him to follow him back to the Lab.

follows "Find anything interesting, Indaura?"

Clark> Doesn't sound like the terrestrial ones are clearing out anytime soon either. Frowns. This is why I don't like to leave the bridge, let alone the ship.

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::finding nothing else out of sorts, he tapped his badge:: +Rex+ Stanton to Rex.

Rex> Looks over to the where the door was and only sees a smooth metal plate. Uh. Now, I am not uh, not trying to alarm either of you but I am pretty sure there was a door there points

"There was."

“The bridge is fun, but we can’t stay there forever. Gotta get out and explore.” Williams flips a couple more switches on the generator. “Power coming back?”

Wade walks over to the wall and starts tapping

ACTION> Back in the Starfleet bunker, the generator spools back up, bringing back power to the facility.

"I can't think of a good reason to conceal a bunker exit from the inside"

Rex> Frowns Three hour cruise.

Clark> We have power again. I'll see if I can raise Excalibur.

“Excellent!”

"It's starting to look that way sir. Anyone have any suggestions?"

Rex> Brings his tricorder closer to where the door was Hmm, this is a solid stone wall behind this. Like, several meters of rock thick.

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::with no response, tries another:: +Will+ Stanton to Chocox.

"I don't like any of the possible explanations for that."

Clark> Looks over at the comm. Maybe he found another gross ration for you to try,

"Either the tricorders are wrong, or we've moved."

"Or I'm unconscious and there's some real bull going on."

"Or this is a holodeck"

William rolls his eyes before tapping his comm badge. +Stanton+ “Chocox to Stanton.”

Rex> Frowns. Are we unconscious together? Is this like a Jem'Hadar thing.

"I hope not."

Rex> Being unconscious together in the same liminal brain space sounds terrible, frankly.

Rex> So, uh, let's go with the more probable thing. How did we move?

"Agreed. We see enough of each other on shift. Well, maybe we can confirm the tricorder's findings?

hefts phaser rifle

Clark> Presses one of the analog buttons. Away team to Excalibur.

"I feel like we would've noticed being teleported."

Rex> Nods and does the same thing. Set to level 5.

"Aye sir."

Rex> I don't want to cause a cave in.

phaser noises

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::breaths a sigh:: +Will+ Stanton here. We have power back at the bunker. Get back here. There have been... developments.

ACTION> The rock absorbs the phaser fire and just turns real red, but doesn't like burst open or anything. It's real and its strong.

"Well either the tricorder is telling the truth or our brains are lying."

"Like, really elaborately lying."

"That would've burned out emitters in a holodeck."

Rex> Holoemitters but they have trackballs that zap you?

Clark> Looks over Nothing from Excalibur. Let's get back then.

+Stanton+ “Understood. Clark wasn’t able to reach Excalibur. We’ll be right there.”

"And construction materials on par with what we have. Yeah it doesn't make sense."

Rex> frowns Well, nothing more we can do with this wall other than keep zapping it, so, lets go back to that hallway. Maybe we can find a control center and figure out what the heck is going on. Doctor, I don't want us splitting up.

heads back and starts exploring again

10:15 PM

"Doctor, can you take some scans of us? Verify we're not, I don't know, going crazy?"

Rex> Do they have a setting for that? I really wouldn't be surprised.

William put his cloak back on at the door. “Ready?”

Clark> does so as well, not really wanting to get wet again but there wasn't anything esle doing. Yep.

What is this place, really?

ACTION> The hallway down the left is lit by the same flourescent lighting as the rest of the facility. There are several doors (because of course there are) down it, but they're just empty storage closets.

“Let’s go.” William steps out into the rain and runs back towards the building they had been in.

Rex> Some sort of science base, obviously. But to what end?

Clark> Hurries behind Will trying not to bust his ass in the rain soaked ground of the complex.

"At least this hallway actually terminates. I was worried we were going to have to start drawing a map."

Rex> I already turned the tricorder on map mode.

"Empty storage is further suggestion of an orderly withdrawal and shut down."

10:19 PM

"Or they fully built the place but never stocked it?"

ACTION> At the end of the hallway, they come to a medium sized room. There are several large very sci-fi looking tubes with electic pulses moving through them and, up a small flight of industrial stairs, a series of CRT consoles and keyboards.

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::removes his tricorder to scan the wall while he waits::

William steps into the building. “Commander?”

ACTION> Outside of the terminal, there's no sign a door had ever been here. It's just, rock.

Clark> Follows along. Uh, wasn't there a door here?

Clark> Like a spooky mystery door?

William looks around “Yeah…”

Rex> Frowns Well, uh, maybe we can find something out on those? If we can get them to work?

"Well, at least they had a consistent aesthetic."

Wade climbs the stairs to see if he can make sense of...any of this.

Rex> I think I'd be more worried if they hadn't. Like this was some weird ark thing where successively weird aliens built something.

“Where did it go?”

Clark> "Leave the bridge they said, it will be fun the said" Frowns

"If we find another mystery door leading to a different kind of bunker, you might be on to something."

“Oh come on, it’s a mystery to solve.”

"Well, hold onto your butts." Presses what he's pretty sure is the activation button for the consoles

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::waves a hand at the wall, turning to Will & Clark:: Exactly. When I came downstairs, it was like this. Appears to be solid rock.

ACTION> The consoles flicker on, again with the same classic green CRT tint and then a bunch of code flowing through in the strange alien script. There's a trackball again.

"If you zap me, I'm taking you apart."

Cdr Jalen Stanton> Another door? Or perhaps a rotating room?

Rex> Want me to try it?

"Go for it, sir. Maybe it just doesn't like me"

“Did you hear anything?”

Rex> Puts his hand on the track ball and is zapped pretty good as well. Ouch.

"Feel any weird suggestions on helpful keys to press?"

Rex> Rubbing his hand. Nope.

10:28 PM

Rex> Frowns You try it.

Wade considers for a moment, and then holds his hand a moderate space above the trackball, instead of touching it directly.

ACTION> He gets a subtle, still noticeable, feedback from the device. Like a steady pulsing of electric energy.

(( Two minute warning ))

"Huh, that's different."

Cdr Jalen Stanton> No, nothing. Didn't feel a rumble, either.

Clark> Maybe this explains why there wasn't any mention of this door in the records?

Cdr Jalen Stanton> Though with the storm raging outside... ?

“That’s possible…though when will it come back?”

Wade focuses on a desire to find a facility map.

ACTION> Wade feels another, extremely subtle, tugging at his mind. As if a question was being posed in response to his own query: why?

Hehe, next weekend is a holiday weekend, but I will be abck and ready to go on Sunday.
