Last time, the new alien contact had come to a stop at the edge of the system. It has not answered our hails. The two patients are suddenly showing signs of physical distress.

Looks like this could be a dedicated cargo ship.

ACTION: Ports open across the alien ship and nebula gasses come pouring out. They do not just expand outwards but weave and warp like auras, following some unseen force. The flows begin reaching back towards the path the other ships took to the nebula... and towards Aegis (edited)

Or...bussard collectors, from both ships.

Recommend against venting something to displace until we'd know exactly how that stuff reacts with whatever we'd vent. Agreed on collectors.

To do that they would have to draw the gas directly to their ships.

Build one? Days.

I mean I can check what stores we have, but we don't have any lying around. Fabrication will take time.

We probably don't have that much time.

We did not look into if the gas can be trapped in water droplets.

That would be a lot of water, and there's no telling how it might react.

I imagine that thing exploding would only spread more gasses.

Can we incase the gas in something non-reactive? Glass is often non-reactive.

If we vented helium we might displace it for a while. But as with any of this, there'd be the question of having enough.

ACTION: The two Intrepid class ships begin to fire on the alien ship.

+Sylfaen+ Mr. Kohl's pain is gone. I have been running scans though, nothing out of the ordinary has shown up. I did have the scans sent to the command center as well, just a precaution and for a second set of eyes of course.
