USS Manticore - Mondays 10 ET - Command Staff: (CO) Captain McFly, (XO) Kansas Kenickie

U.S.S. MANTICORE BRIEFING #1315 STARDATE 52503.31

Manticore has been sent to a classified planet where a cult fascinated with the Borg have been exiled. The crew is to investigate possible comm activity by the group who have been forbidden from contacting anyone on the outside. Upon arrival science detected what appeared to be the comm array. A third team was sent down to investigate while the others proceeded to the village. What they found was a busted up comm array that did very little. But when they left they fell into a trap and were all taken unconscious and their shuttle stolen. Meanwhile, Doctor Tevek cured an infection of a young child that should have been preventable.

No, Sanchez, they have not.

In a sense, yes. A joint network of instant communication with each other's mind. Human speech is so inefficient. Wouldn't it be better to transmit those neural signals instantly to another person's brain?! You barely need to think of what you want to say before they know what it is you're thinking.

It does. Age is something no one has been able to out run. Such a misnomer Captain! You don't lose any part of yourself. Everything you are is shared amongst millions of other beings. And on such a level, that should your body be destroyed, your memory, your knowledge, your essence continues to live on in the collective. Hell, for all we know your entire consciousness is digitized and you be come truly immortal! But Starfleet refuses to understand that. And they attack everything they don't understand.
