Space Port Aegis - Fridays 10 ET - Command Staff: (CO) Captain Sylfaen, (XO) Nijil tr'Korjata

We pick up where we left off, with the alien ships turned away from the planet. There was some type of energy burst sent out with disrupted power on all ships, including the aliens.

ACTION: the alien ships regroup as they move away.

We could pursue, but I think we'd be best to let them leave, get down to Aegis, get all our data consolidated, and keep casualties to the minimum.

We don't want to look TOO threatening. More like we're just ensuring they do leave the system.

Probably just can't warp away like the rest of the fleet did.

A very slow run. Can we confirm if it's warp drive is damaged.

Unless, as I suggested earlier, they want to see if we'd try to make some attack of opportunity and take out a lone target.

Which it likely would be if their lone ship is taken out when it is retreating.

Because if that fleet - backed by what we saw at their station - came back, I don't think we'd hold them off for long.

We collected a great deal of data from the attack, and as he said we can better prepare for the next encounter.

We're approaching as closely as I feel comfortable doing. I don't want to provoke an attack, either by that ship or anything we can't see that's waiting around and watching.

You should probably start your scans. We'll keep closing, but they could pick up speed at any point. Don't lose your opportunity.

And I don't want to be too close if they self-destruct.

Let's say not having another encounter before Starfleet can advise and, if necessary, send a little backup - given that there's still their other colony here.
