Several passbys have mapped a distortion in the quantum level.

Does it match any known distortion?

It's hard to say as once we measure it we can only know so much about it. We can create a probability matrix.

Do it... is this everywhere in the sector or only at the precise points where we went to warp?

Scan our warp engines, pull the apart if you have to to see if anything in them could be opening up quantum rifts.

Given that the last 2 times it happened, a starbase and starship were destroyed, I don't think that's a good idea.

How many anomalies did you detect?

I think over a dozen, but they could be all one giant issue.

If our warp engines caused one anomaly per entry to warp and they're caused by modified warp engines, that could mean other ships have the same issue

I'm starting to detect some potential malware in the warp engine code. It's very well hidden and encrypted, but it's definitely something that's not supposed to be there.

Unfortunately, it's integrated so deeply into the codebase that just removing it would probably break the warp systems completely.

What can we do to make sure it doesn't activate?

could we encapsulate it in a sandbox?

That requires very high level root access.

We're going to have to get this out of our system before we activate our warp engines again

I'm working on cracking the encryption, but fiddling with this before knowing exactly what it's doing is going to be dangerous.
