USS Excalibur - Sundays 10:30 ET - Command Staff: (CO) Cptn Swain, (XO) CdrMirandaHawthorne

MISSION BRIEF: The Excalibur crew is enjoying a surprisingly non-threatening evening of entertainment aboard the science station in orbit of Erebus 76. They appear to have a found the only (?) Asher Swain Megafan in the universe, who is also the captain of the Orion ship docked at the station as well.

William nearly chokes on his drink “Fine then Rex, why does this crew keep throwing me at aliens?”

"You need to find better aliens to be thrown at." She says as she goes by.

Illysa> Making sure his hair is perfect in the reflection of his glass

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::smiles at the Orion:: Would you like me to introduce you?

Rex> Smirks Look, a war core might be able to take of your uh, needs, but it not going to tuck you in at night.

William rolls his eyes again. “I’m not doing anything to the warp core in that way.”

Illysa> Follows along, almost giddy

Rex> Takes a drink

:: Sipping her drink, a mild affair with a touch of lemon, or she hopes it was lemon ::

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::clears throat:: Captain. I have someone I'd like you to meet. This is Captain Yarum Illsya of the Merkur.

“Rex, what is it going to take to convince you?”

Illysa> If I had known you were going to be here I would have brought a copy of your manuscript to sign!

Irene nudges her new Klingon friend. "I can't believe we found the captain's superfan."

Culran> Takes a drink of blood wine. He is well known in the field, but snorts we're hardly rockstars of the science world.

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::still grinning:: Apparently, he enjoys your work, Captain.

Blinks a few times. Oh, really?

Illysa> Well yes, I mean, you're a giant in the feild and all and well. I mean. you're perfectly sized. I mean. Takes a big drink. Sorry sometimes when I get nervous I talk a lot.

Rex> Look Will if you didn't get so preturbed everytime I suggest I hook you up with a random alien of the week, I wouldn't continue to do it.

William took the drink. “Your maintenance requests are still going on the bottom.”

Culran> But really there are probably several people on this station who would like to work with your Captain.

Rex> So you and Clark were on the Yacht huh?

Irene> "We do have the latest sensor equipment. But even then, we were still having trouble with the crap coming off the star."

Culran> I would be lying if I said I didn't want to ask Captain Swain about his thoughts on the matter.

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::enjoying himself immensely::

Irene> "He'd probably tell you to tell me how to avoid it."

It's ah, it'a okay. Why don't we uh, find a table. I am famished. Jalen Come along.

Rex> Tries not to make a face. Oh, an anomalous reading huh.

“There was an item that was showing up as a sensor blind spot.”

Rex> Nods and takes drink.

Illysa> So, Captain Asher ... can I call you Asher? Are you here to study the star?

As he finds a table, he is mentally swearing an oath against Johannson Oh? Uh, no we're actually just on a supply run here. We're going to be on a mapping run for the rest of the trip. What about you, what are you doing out here? We're a long way from Orion.

“Which happened to look like some missing cargo.”

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::stops by the buffet to load up for their table, throwing an amused glance at Swain and his new friend::

Rex> Ah. Grabs something from a passing waiter. You should come to the poker night I've got running on Thursdays, you know.

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::brings over plates of appetizers::

Illysa> Is now explaining to Asher how he overcame being an Orphan destined to work in the pleasure houses of Orion to command his own ship and his desire to study the stars.

William also grabbed an hors d’oeuvre. “Oh yeah? Who else is there?”

Asher> Nodding along, plotting his revenge

Rex> My second, Clark, Val, Tonas that runs the galley. I keep meaning to ask Irene.

“Ooh, sounds like a lively bunch.”

Rex> Clark is shockingly good at poker.

“Really? Because he was all wound up right before we got here.” (edited)

Culran> So, what is it that you prefer to study?

Rex> Right? Dude always gives off the vibe he's a light weight ready to run for the hills. Smirks Which is why I invited him in the first place.

Irene> "I am an exobiologist. Plant genetics. But I get pressed into doing just about everything on the ship."

“I’ll keep that in mind.”

Illysa> Has added to the lore that it was a copy of some thing Asher published in the academy that found its way into his hands, somehow, that made him want to be an explorer.

trying to stay interested, while plotting revenge on basically everyone, but also really curious about the sauce on the chicken satay.

Cdr Jalen Stanton> That is fascinating. ::taking a seat:: Do you have a copy of Swains paper with you? You should definitely visit the Excalibur before we depart and bring it for him to sign.

Rex> Smirks I mean, you'll never know if you don't come. Maybe I'm awful.

Illysa> I do! I would love that. And... bites his lips if it would be possible to see your astrometrics lab?

“Mhmm, sure. I’ll just have to make sure I have saved up my stipends.”

If looks could kill Jalen would be getting cotton balls shoved up his butt. (edited)

Rex> Besides, if this mission is as quiet as we can dream it will be, the holodecks and poker games are gonna be a highlight of the trip.

“Fair enough.”

Rex> Speaking of which, you should have your boys look at holodeck 3. One of my security goons said it was projecting a bit funny.

“Projecting funny how?”

Rex> I mean it was an enlisted goldshirt. I am surprised he knew it was a projection.

“Fair enough. I’ll have someone take a look.”

Culran> Nods Better than being a scientest on a Klingon ship though.

Culran> I did a turn of that once. Most of it was figuring out what bacterial infestations the galley had created.

Oh :: Ahchoo! ::

Cdr Jalen Stanton> Excellent. Look forward to your visit. ::couldn't help but smile at Swain::

Irene shudders. "As much as I miss live Klingon cuisine..."

Culran> Did you know there are eight different types of bacteria that grow in gagh slime?
