Okay. We are still investigating the hole under the station. Key thing we're attempting is to get samples. We are also keeping a watchful eye on the sky in case that ship and any friends return.

I was considering that.

I don't like the idea of doing that without knowing what we'll open up, but one hopes we could get better data as we get closer without needing to fully break through.

If we can just get a clear enough signal to scan or transport, that's all we'd need.

I've ruled out reconfiguring the ground based phaser arrays. I don't want any weapon systems out of commision if we need them still facing skyward.

That would be a relief.

I think something was being beamed down there, but I can't tell what.

Even if it were for a fairly robust operation, I doubt they'd want to risk much with the Federation on top of it. And Athena watching.

But smugglers could make sense with the existing colony nearby.

If they are former military as we suspect, they may also be stockpiling weapons.
