= Manticore helped to retrieve a prototype starship called the Prometheus from Romulans attempting to steal the technology. Along the way they suffered severe damage and took casualties. Unfortunately some of the ship's crew are just learning about this now. After relaying the bad news, the crew winds down for the day and sets in for a long ride home. = starfleet

Well, I appreciate you coming to tell me that. To be quite honest, I'm surprised, because I had assumed you were coming to continue the discussion and/or tell me off. My people are verrrry pragmatic. Although were highly moral, laws are tricky at times. I was introduced to a historical Earth type of music, the narcocorrido. It hits home, a lot of our popular songs emphasize the rogue trader types... a lot of our folk heroes are ne'er do wells of some kind or another, or strongly independent types. It's one thing I've always liked about Starfleet, which we should adopt: The idea of Conduct Unbecoming an Officer.

Hm, I remember overhearing that. I doubt that they don't believe you, but perhaps there's a misunderstanding regarding timing of when she was killed. Is there anything I can do to help reassure you? Maybe I can speak with the doctors in Sickbay?

Yeah well being the XO means I have to "know" all the personnel. Then this gets all messed up. I didn't know she was dead... It's just we've lost so many people over the last couple years. Hard to keep up. Thankfully we haven't gone fully into the war, but I'm thinking that's coming sooner than we expect. (edited)

Like these letters I have to write. I keep thinking, personnel is Faldek's job, maybe he could write them. But then I remember it's my responsibility. I should really be the one to tell their families. It just sucks.

It is her time of death that is in question. According to the computer she was killed in the Prometheus Attack. I saw her alive and well hours after that attack. Something happened to her during the time period of my chat with her...and my dinner appointment that was scheduled with her

Yes. Commander. We talked about repair progression and a proposal she had for boosting the warp effieciency of our nacelles. I was unable to hear her proposal right away...so I asked if she could meet me at 1800 that evening.

::looks at EJ:: Where'd you run off to?

::looks at Faldek:: I had to leave the Bridge at the time before I rung his neck.

So between 0945 and 1800 she must have been killed. I could speak with medical and get a time of death for Ensign Ortega. Or, I can try to get them to do another autopsy to confirm when exactly she was killed.

But I was thinking with feelings instead of the integrity of Starfleet. I've since corrected the issue. We're all good now.

I would appreciate this Commander. Her cause of death is of interest as well, for no mechanical issues with Manticore had taken place in that time period. With all the Romulan activity we have dealt with lately...you can only imagine what I am thinking

I am sorry for you loss though. I don't recall meeting Ensign Ortega, but Calli seemed to have liked her. I know it's not the same, but I am still kinda sad Calli's gone... but I have lost a lot of friends in this war with the Dominion so I can feel you.

Apparently, Lt Banks of CetOps is adamant she past away between 0945 and 1800 today, I know Dr Orrak performed an autopsy already but he'd appreciate a secondary opinion to pinpoint an exact time and cause of death.... she maybe have been KIA in the secondary attack by the Prometheus.
