Space Port Aegis - Fridays 10 ET - Command Staff: Captain Sylfaen, Nijil tr'Korjata

We pick up having tested the sensor and found them not picking up an actual explosion but reporting the end of the universe and the laws of physics as we know them in a repeating pattern. Are we dealing with another oddity of the planet or is something else going on? We continue our search for clues. TBS, a few minutes. Questions?

Not sure, we're trying to see if we can get different readings. So we'll see how far out that is.

Niji briefed me on your ship operations. Initiating a broadband series of scans.

We're looking for when those scans start to diverge from what we've been getting at the base.

What news do we want? Same scan results or different?

Let's hope we find a change at some point. And that we can then scan the base and see if we can pinpoint the issue

ACTION: Shuttle 2 km out, readings unchanged.

I really hope we don't have to start taking things apart. We just got this station put together, more or less.

Well everything is accounted for and in place

This is just like on the research station, the installation of the repaired components did not fix the issue.

We figured out what on the station on our end stopped working and stranded Niji for so long, but the results were the same. It took a bit more time to sharpen our claws on the issue.

I will scan for out-of-phase variances. I think this shuttle can go to .78 plus or minus.

ACTION: Shuttle 4 km out, readings decreasing.

Signal strength is decreasing, but no change in the variance. No aliens out of phase.

Oh, I am sorry if I call him Niji. It fit a bit better when we were on our world. Though now that I think of it Niji is not a name we would use.

ACTION: Shuttle 6 km out. Sensors returning to normal, no alerts going off.

Here that could be construed as a bit of an affectionate name.

Wait, the alerts have stopped. We are on the edge of some of our scans.

+sylf+ 6 kilometers. We're getting no alerts and normal scans -though we're at the edge of range of some of the highest detail scans.

On your old base, you had a broadcast come in that was not easy to stop correct?

Heh. You could say that. It interrupted at intervals. Annisha still tries to play some of the music we heard.

Looks like we've got a hot spot there... Seems to be slightly below the base. Maybe we disturbed something with construction?

ACTION: Sensors remaining clear along a 6 km distance from Aegis. Readings normal, except.... A ship is picked up in orbit holding position over Aegis.

That's wonderful. It was from us, as you might imagine, with some protocol help from Niji. Wait, oh...

ACTION: And also signal under the base
