When we left off, we had set off the alerts again and are trying to track down the cause.

Agreed, that training also got the best of most people

+nijil+ Not that we're aware of. Though it is hard to say if there's anything buried in that other reality/phased version.

Wait a moment. These alerts are in a pattern. We're getting them nearly at the same moment, but not exactly. And the order is always the same.

:: taps her wrist comm :: +Sandero+ I thought it may be me. I still don't know exactly what I am, so I thought your systems may see me as something foreign.

:: Listening in the engineering room :: +Ops+ You think something is using our alert system to contact us?

::nods:: Like it's a form of communication or something like that

Not sure. Just first there's a thermal alert. Then a series of radiation alerts, then pressure alerts, on and on and then starts again.

+Ops+ Next question. If this is so, is it external to our systems or inside our systems?

+Nijil+ What are you talking about?

+Muuhi+ Hmm, I doubt it's you. Seems like there's still issues. But, I suppose we shouldn't leave any stone unturned. Try to come back by night time, so you don't get cold.

+Sandero+ I would be okay for the night. That Niji would know.

No deviation in that pattern, so if it's communications then it's one repeating word or sentence. (edited)

+Ops+ I did not see anything in the code that is not used in other bases like ours.

+Muuhi+ Hmm, ok. If anything else happens then we'll know it wasn't you.

::thinks:: Thermal, radiation, pressure... Is there some kind of vein under the complex that could trigger the alerts?

+Nijil+ Understood. Passing that along.

Nothing I can think of that would trigger now and not sometime earlier.

+Syl+ Ops here. Nijil is saying that he's not seeing anything in our code that isn't used in other bases like ours.

Our sensors are always scanning, this could simply be the order the computer looks for signals.

If you scan a campfire, you'll get variations in the heat and particles. But this is steady. It has to be artificial. (edited)

True. It's just weird.

+Ops+ Understood. We've noticed a pattern that indicates this is artificial but still no clue to the source. See if that pattern matches anything.

::Mimi:: Doctor, do you have anything here that can simulate a contamination alert? I am now wondering what the sensors would make to an actual or close to actual danger detected.

I believe so. I'll get started on the simulations.

::Nijil:: We don't, yet. We don't know that there's anything to respond to. All we're doing is seeing if this pattern matches something of significance - or if it is just a pattern.

::starts running simulations based on combinations of whats listed::

Combinations what we have listed to see what would cause the alerts. Unless there was something more specific that we're looking for

Yes, nothing. Which, is a problem. We should see elevated readings in what we're testing.

+Nijil+ Okay, take a broader look at the system. I'm about to do something that should trigger an alert for sure.
