USS Manticore - Mondays 10 ET - Command Staff: Captain McFly, Kansas Kenickie

= USS MANTICORE BRIEFING #1288, STARDATE 52409.23 = starfleet

= Manticore has been sent in to investigate the disappearance of a new prototype ship, the USS Prometheus, last seen near the edge of the Alpha Quadrant. Upon arrival, they found debris from three ships, two Federation and one Romulan. They also discovered how the Romulans were able to get so close, with a new type of cloaking device able to disguise themselves to sensors. Annika was able to decipher the Prometheus' warp signature and they chased her down. After ignoring Manticore's warnings, Prometheus unveiled her secret weapon and promptly disabled Manticore's entire power system. While repair teams scrambled to fix the ship, back up finally arrived in the form of the USS Kieran and two more Defiant class ships. They dropped off some support crews then continued the pursuit of the stolen ship. Manticore tried to stay in contact but something was attempting to block communications. That something ended up being three Romulan Warbirds. = starfleet

I'm getting a large spike of energy coming from the Prometheus -- I think they're gonna do that cool party trick of theirs.

I see the Romulan lifesigns but yes I am detecting two additional holographic signatures.

I watched the Dominion do it. You would think they did it out of mercy, but I think they did not want to waste a resource.

Still have no clue how they managed to steal such an advanced starship.

Skeleton crew probably didn't help.

It's a process based on Jem'Hadar regeeneratrion, from from the outside.

Well, at least they stopped firing at us. Looks like the remaining warbirds have or are currently retreating back into the Neutral Zone.

Ja, I don't detect anything either for CetOps. But a job vell done everyone. We surivived another day of the hoomans trying to blow us up.

::gives Ensign Phibes an additional pain medication hypo, then carefully removes the bandages from the Ensign's face so they can begin the dermal regeneration::

Filtres out the standard Romulan and Federation comm relays and searches for alien ones. I think we have a faint sign of an unknown comm relay.

I promise you, this is no trick. Captain Janeway has been doing everything in her power to find us a way home. I think everyone is hoping this communications network is step forward in that direction.

+Faldek+ I think we have the comm relay in question. It's of an unknown alien origin that seems to be originating deep in the Delta Quadrant. The relay connection seems to be unstable though.

+Faldek+ Huh well... the comm relay seems to be a series of interconnected networks connecting our two Quadrants. I think I can work with CetOps to boost the network signal from our end.
