USS Manticore - Mondays 10 ET - Command Staff: Captain McFly, Kansas Kenickie

= USS MANTICORE BRIEFING #1287, STARDATE 52409.16 = starfleet

= Manticore has been sent in to investigate the disappearance of a new prototype ship, the USS Prometheus, last seen near the edge of the Alpha Quadrant. Upon arrival, they found debris from three ships, two Federation and one Romulan. They also discovered how the Romulans were able to get so close, with a new type of cloaking device able to disguise themselves to sensors. Annika was able to decipher the Prometheus' warp signature and they chased her down. After ignoring Manticore's warnings, Prometheus unveiled her secret weapon and promptly disabled Manticore's entire power system. While repair teams scrambled to fix the ship, back up finally arrived in the form of the USS Kieran and two more Defiant class ships. They dropped off some support crews then continued the pursuit of the stolen ship. = starfleet

Ok I'm heading to the secondary core. We need to get the dueterium flow going, but first i need to give it a once over to make sure everything is kosher. ::heads over::

Nothing of consequence. They're being really secretive about this one. I kind of understand why.

I suspect it'll take the Romulans some time to break Starfleet's encryption. But if they get that ship back to their space, then they'll have all the time in the world to try. (edited)

It's a new weaponized ship. We've had a taste of how devastating it can be. It's not surprising to see them compartmentalizing the ship specs like that.

Sven, once we get underway we aren't seriously going to try to go after that super ship again are we?

I certainly hope not, I highly doubt we're in any condition to take on that thing again. Heck, they took us out in perfect condition.

I think it look weaker when she is splitting up.. which is no shocker. Saucer separation is when all ship are vulnerable ::looks up at McFly::

We could hit it while she's separating. You'd need a hair trigger to time it just right. But it might be a solution.

I believe one should delegate the right fish for the job...Yes. The Kieran is much better suited to go head to head with that Super Ship...And those Defiants with her ARE warships. Perhaps the Consul General has rethought her strategy.

I don't like the sound of that.

In our current condition I highly recommend staying out of combat if possible. Another hit like the one we took would most assuredly leave us dead in the water for quite some time.

Also keep in mind not to push the secondary core as much as we did with the primary core. It's not rated for that kind of usage.

Can we use the new sensors in the fin to get a longer range tactical scan than we normally would?

+ Erich Jaenke + Chief, regrettably I am unable to do a thorough damage inspection of the primary warp core from my position here in CetOPs....But I can say many of my sensors I would use to remote diagnose the core were damaged in the attack.

I haven't found a source for the interference yet.
