USS Manticore - Mondays 10 ET - Command Staff: Captain McFly, Kansas Kenickie

= USS MANTICORE BRIEFING #1269, STARDATE 52405.06 =

= Manticore had been destroyed. Two years later, the crew of the Manticore-B had been splintered. Kansas was reassigned off the ship to a new position guarding the Federation President. Faldek had been given a special assignment which lead to him and Gila going to Cardassia where they met up with an old friend, Edvenent. Manticore herself returned from a years long shakedown cruise and returned to Starbase -REDACTED- to be fitted with a new dorsal module. During a conference on the lunar colony, Kansas was able to thwart an assassination attempt on the President. This proved to be a distraction for the real mission, the theft of Manticore's dorsal module, a weapon known only as the Planet Killer. Manticore was sent after it but wound up running into a group of mercenaries they didn't expect and lost Captain McFly in the process. Kansas was then sent in separately to find the module and slowly uncovered a conspiracy involving high ranking Starfleet officers. Meanwhile, Faldek's mission was to track down a theft of a Federation weapon. After two years the mission seemed as if it may have been scrubbed but they soon learned that it was restarted and was much larger than original anticipated. Faldek discovered a new devastating Dominion Battleship. Gila learned select Jem'Hadar soldiers were being trained on Federation technology. And Edvenent found a connection between their mission and the theft of the PK. Kansas was able to track down the location of the module but found it had already been moved. However she did retrieve McFly. Faldek, Gila & Edvenent were instructed to stop the transfer of this large weapon only to discover the location given to them was wrong. Eventually, all parties found their way back to Manticore. After a brief briefing they determine the best course of action is to destroy the module now located on the new devastating Dominion Battleship. They send a team over to sabotage the PK but weren't able to reach the control room before the battleship was able to demonstrate its power on an unsuspecting planet. With the aide of the Vertical, Maelstrom and Kieran, they were able to destroy the Dominion Battleship along with the PK. But now, Kansas has some unfinished business to attend to. = starfleet

You need to stop being you and listen to the doctor. You were nearly killed.

Remote surveying has commenced.....there will be new Carpet installed there again for sure....there is evidence of thermal damage to the deck in the immediate vicinity of the explosion.

The blast seemed to have focused not in the direction of the warp cores...but the area in between where the senior officers were..

I ponder if a replacement PK is in the works. Or will an oversight committee not allow Manticore to have another after this incident.

I did vant to see vat it was capable of. A shame, really. But, it did completely obliterate that planet.

James Ryan (earth)> :: arrives at the Presidential Compound to resume his duties....One thing Ryan noted to himself how helpful it could be hearing the Presidential briefs while on detail. Sometimes it confirmed his own intelligence reports he had received from his source...other times....it went the other way..

If your saboteur is so good, why hasn't he busted out ship override codes yet? Doesn't seem like it would be difficult for someone who can tap an Admirals comms, be let near the President, or fool your checks.

Oh it's a nice place. Kinda cold. The debriefing is gonna suck for me, and it's gonna be worse for you.
