Rex> looks at Will So we have haunted transporters and a haunted science lab?

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::Arrives in the science wing shortly after the lights come on, glancing around as he enters.:: Doctor... did the two of you see anything else?

Rex> So what wpuld cause a power drain like that during transport?

Ens Reynolds> ::Arrives in engineering out of breath, lugging his kit along. He sagged in the doorway, breathing heavily.:: Sirs... I'm here... I ran as soon as the lights came on...

"Something wrong with the transporters, or something near here draining the battery."

Rex> At different rates?

"That's...fair."

Rex> To be clear I am not a engineer.

"No, no, that's a fair question."

I did not, I was trying to extract some data.

Rex> Flips open his tricorder Nothing weird but then, helps if you know what you're looking for

"Also, hello Reynolds. We have generators that are drained at different rates as they come down from Excalibur."

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::He gestured to Indaura.:: Let's keep exploring this wing. See where these strange readings are coming from .

Rex> Wasn't there something wrong with the first set too?

"They were just dead."

Ens Reynolds> ::Catching his breath, finally.:: Drained? That's odd. The Commander and I noticed that the chronos in the admin wing were all showing different times, but we thought that was due to the power outages.

"Hm...I wonder if that has something to do with our generators. The power was out when the first set came down.

Rex> Strokes his non existent beard Do you think there's a connection between the power and the uh... ghosts?

Rex> I don't but whatever she saw was probably real in some sense. I have seen enough weird in fleet to know that.

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::Takes out his own tricorder to scan and begins to walk through the science labs, heading down the corridor where Indaura and Irene saw the ghosts::

"And knowing our luck there is a connection."

Ens Reynolds> Have you two seen any of these g-ghosts? ::Wide eyes as he glances around engineering.:: They're not in here, are they?

Rex> We're actually ghosts Reynolds.

William gives him a look. "Really Reynolds? Damnit Rex, don't encourage him." (edited)

Rex> Stiffles a giggle

Ens Reynolds> ::Pokes Rex with his spanner.::

"Seriously Reynolds? Do you really believe in ghosts?"

Ens Reynolds> ::Relieved that Rex wasn't transparent.:: Of course! Don't you?

"No! What is this, some kind of fantasy novel?"

Rex> Deeply convinced they need to check the Excalibur's warp core now.

I do not believe in spirits per se, but that is not to say we know everything about all forms of life.

Ens Reynolds> Our souls have to go somewhere when we die.

Ens Reynolds> There are a few people I'd haunt if I could.

Rex> Our ... you know, never mind.

"I...I don't know where to go with this conversation."

Rex> Why don't we see if we can figure out what drained these batteries. Don't our phasers and tricorders use the same systems? What about them?

"Maybe we haven't noticed due to how small the batteries are?"

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::Scanning as he walked through, glancing back at the doctor.:: I would agree. These ghosts might be something we just don't know about yet.

ACTION> The whining in engineering is getting louder as the power cycles, straining to keep up. There's another loud pop and the entire complex is plunged into darkness again.

Not again.

Denobula is rife with stories like this since we are so densely packed as a civilixation.

William goes to check the generators that had charge when they came down.

Rex> Flips on his hand light and resists an urge to make spooky ghost nosies at Reynolds, but only just barely

These readings are reflected all over the place. Isolation will be tricky.

Rex> Checks his phaser battery Hmm it has definately lost charge and I have not used it. Looks at his tricorder Same with this.

"That makes sense then."

Rex> Hand lamps using chemical batteries though.

"Would explain why those are still going strong."

Cdr Jalen Stanton> Back here, Doctor. ::He called.:: The readings are getting stronger.

Found something?

Ens Reynolds> ::His light was still functional, oddly, and he shone it around the room, darting from one shadow to the next.:: What's draining the power?

"I don't know yet."

Rex> Deadpan The Ghosts.

Rex> What season are they on these days anyway?

Ens Reynolds> ::He hissed at Rex.:: That's not funny.

Rex> I canceled Holodeck+ so I only see clips on Klingon Tok

"There's no such thing as ghosts."

ACTION> As they move deeper into the science labs, the glowing green light is getting brighter. Suddenly, the round a wall and find themselves in one of the larger experimental labs. There's a large pulsing light in one of the containment units.

ACTION> Almost the moment Will says that, a group of screaming, translucent people come running from the recesses of engineering.

Rex> Blinks

:: scans :: This sure is something...

"Huh..."

Rex> Flips open his tricorder instinctively

Ens Reynolds> ::Screams::

"Calm down Reynolds. I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable explanation."

Rex> No ectoplasm on tricorders.

Cdr Jalen Stanton> Uh... yes. Something is right.

Ens Reynolds> Yes! The explanation is ghosts! They died in here and are haunting the place.

"I highly doubt that Reynolds."

Rex> Gives Reynolds a look Ensign, I have seen a lot of things including things people called ghosts but were actually just some kids with a holoprojector.

Rex> Now, lets calm down and think about what could be causing us to see these projections and also effecting the power cells.

William arches an eyebrow at Rex.

Cdr Jalen Stanton> +Engineering team+ We found something... interesting in the Science wing. You should get do... ::The comm suddenly cuts off.::

Rex> Looks at his commbadge +Stanton+ Rex to Stanton come in

"Interesting?"

$Clark> On the bridge of the Excalibur, Clark's eyes suddenly widened Captain! I've lost contact with the away team's ID signals.

ACTION> There's no answer or acknowledgement from the science team. Nor does the science team hear the comms come through.

$ Looks up form his tea What?

$Clark> Furrows his brow Maybe it's a malfunction. Let's restart the sensors.

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::taps his badge and gets the Star Trek fizzled that-badge-isn't-working sound.:: Huh... that's not good. Let's get away from this thing and see if it's just interfering.
