USS Excalibur - Sundays 10 ET - Command Staff: Cptn Swain, CdrMirandaHawthorne

Many things to move?

MISSION BRIEFING: Excalibur is currently in orbit of the agricultural colony of Trakis III responding to a muddled distress call. Arriving, they have found the colony to be completely deserted. The AT has discovered the origin of the distress call, though it strangely appears to be placed sometime in the future. The entire complex is also experiencing strange power fluctuations and outages. As we begin, teams are entering the engineering and science wings to investigate.

Rex> Frowns as he looks around again You ever think of getting a normal job?

“In Starfleet? Where would that be?”

Rex> When I was first out of the academy I did a rotation on Mars at the shipyards. Easist gig I've ever had.

“Yeah, but the people are…weird for Starfleet.”

Rex> Have you met anyone on this ship. It wasn't a question. But I suppose I should be grateful. It could be a lot worse.

“We may be weird, but we’re normal for Starfleet.”

:: Scanning the area ::

Rex> Wonders if Will has been working too near the warp core, but decides to let it go. So how do we get this bad boy fired back up again.

"Ok!" She pushes the science doors open...

“I’m trying to figure that out.” William says while scanning.

Rex> They should just make engineering a bush button affair. "On" he mimed pressing a button on darkened console and "Off" and repeated the gesture

:: hears the doors being opened ahead of her ::

ACTION> Power levels in the complex start amping up again, until there's a high pitched whine that's enough to give one a reaction headache. Then the lights go out and they're plunged into darkness.

Rex> Oh for sake.

“Not again. William grabs an emergency light and cracks it.

ACTION> In the science wing, all is dark except a muted glow from somewhere deep in the maze of labs.

Rex> Shines his light and his phaser in an action pose What the hell was that noise.

:: Heads the the glow, scanner in hand ::

William holds up the chemical light. “Never used one of these?”

"Careful..." She heads inside, slowly, phaser in hand.

Rex> Yeah, all the time in the war. The Jem'Hadar figured out how to track the energy signature of our normal hand lights.

Rex> So you'd just be having a nice little patrol in the woods and BAM bunch of Jem'Hadar would uncloak and start popping you. BA-BABAABA-BABA miming shooting the whole time

:: Looks at her readings ::

ACTION> As Irene & Indaura head further into the labs, a group of people come rushing down the corridor screaming. Tricorders give no indication of lifesigns, though.

:: She looked up, then down again at her scans :: "What are they?"

:: Puts her other hand on her phaser ::

"Don't know!" Her hand is on her phaser, but her phaser is not raised. Her off-hand contains her tricorder. "They're... nothing, apparently?" (edited)

"Correct, no signs of life."

Rex> Clears his throat and sobers, realizing he probably looked like a goof with the fake shooting action So, think we could get some portable power generators down here from the ship? Looks over to Will

“Yes, we should be able to. Everything here is going to be compatible.” (edited)

Rex> Nods

ACTION> Those screaming people rush toward the pair and pass through them before disappearing like ghosts.

"I took an oath to do no harm, but I'm considering bending it a litt..."

+Excalibur/Reynolds+ “Chocox to Excalibur. You there Reynolds?”

Ens Reynolds> +Chocox+ Aye, sir. Commander Stanton and I are still exploring the administrative wing. Though... it's hard to do in the dark. Do you need help with something?

+Reynolds+ “For some reason I forgot you were down here. I need to get portable power generators but that’s an Excalibur thing. Hold please.” +Excalibur+ “Chocox to Excalibur.”

Clark> +Cho+ Excalibur here

+Clark+ “Hey Clark, our power supply down here is more miss than hit. Please tell Engineering to send down some portable generators please.”

"What was that?"

Clark> +Excalibur+ Can do. How many units do you want.

She tries to slide out of the way of the screaming ghosts when they approach, flat against the wall. "Don't know!"

Clark> +Excalibur+ I hear there's a 2 for 1 special.

((It was the ghost army from LOTR))

+Clark+ “I’ll take 4 for 2 then. I think that should be enough.”

Clark> +Cho+ Understood. Standby.

+Clark+ “Thank you Clark.”

ACTION> A cut scene later and the power units are beamed down, hwoever, when Will eventually inspects them, he will find their batteries drained.

“What the hell?” +Clark+ “Did you guys send me dud generators?”

Clark> +Cho+ Sounds surprised Let me check with your people, but I can't imagine you've trained them that badly.

+Everyone+ "Mincine to whoever, there's... ghosts, or something down here in Science!" She sounds quite alarmed.

Rex> Looks at Cho Not the weird ones huh?

Rex> +Mincine+ Rex here, report.

Clark> +Cho+ Confirmed with your people, they loaded four fresh power units onto the transporter pad.

Cdr Jalen Stanton> +Irene+ Yes, report. I'd like to know what you mean by... ghosts.

+Clark+ “Well, they’re currently dead.”

Clark> +Cho+ Weird. Well, I'll have them send four new ones down.

(( Clark is a second or two away from sending Cho an amazon-esque picture of the drop off ))

+Everyone+ She's calmed down after a short pause. "OK, well... some screaming people who don't appear on our tricorders at all, running through us like holograms. There's no power or anything down here, so it's not that."

+Clark+ “Thank you Clark.”

Rex> Wondering if Irene has also been working too near the warp core lately

"Holograms?"

ACTION> The four dead power supplies are beamed up and replaced with four new ones, but they are in different states of charge.

“Are you kidding me?!”

Cdr Jalen Stanton> +Irene+ I'm headed that way. Report if you find anything else... odd.

Rex> Pops open his tricorder, wondering if there is a 'ghost busters' setting

+Jalen+ No ghosts in engineering. Want me to stay here with Chocox?

ACTION> The complex's power source lights up suddenly. There's a loud pop and power is restored to the entire facility.

Cdr Jalen Stanton> +Rex+ Yes. I'm sending Reynolds to you to help, as well. ::Pauses.:: And the power is on here. There, as well? (edited)

Rex> +Jalen+ Spooky.

“Yes, power has been restored here, but who knows how long.”

+Stanton+ "Other than... the power, that's about it down here."

ACTION> Irene & Indaura hear a soft droning noise coming from somewhere in the labs. Though the power doesn't go out, the lights dim and brighten in tandem with the noise.

“And ghosts? Really?”

Rex> Shrugs So what was the deal with the power units?

She points her tricorder at the lights, dimming and coming back. "OK, what is that...? Can you record this too, doctor?"

“First ones were dead, these ones are in various states of charge.”

Rex> Did you off your staff and or forget to do transporter maintenance

"I'm getting it." :: her 'corder chirps ::

"Power instability?"

“I’m beginning to think it’s the site.” William checks the generators again.

"It's definitely power instability of some kind. Some kind of resonance with... something. I need an engineer down here."

ACTION> The timers indicate that they’ve all been running various different lengths of time, but all have the same “last charged” date, which is just before they were beamed down

“This makes no sense.”

Rex> Lifts a brow Oh?

“So, they all say their last charge date was right before they transported down. But their run times are all different amounts.”
