9:14 PM

MISSION BRIEFING: Excalibur is currently in orbit of the agricultural colony of Trakis III responding to a muddled distress call. Arriving, they have found the colony to be completely deserted. The AT has discovered the origin of the distress call, though it strangely appears to be placed sometime in the future. As we continue, the AT is searching for more clues and the power has just gone out. Irene managed to get the emergency lights working in medical, but everything else is still dead.

“What kind of settings do you want on the massage chair Commander Rex?”

Rex> All of them. ::shines his light down the corridors they pass on the way to the stairs.::

William shines his light around as well. “Well, I’ll get right to it as soon as we get back.”

+Others+ "Irene to the other teams, I've got lighting down here in Medical now. Try checking the power distribution systems where you all are."

+Irene+ “Thank you Irene.”

:: Working in the mood lighting of this medical location ::

Rex> ::looks around the corridor:: Pointless to try out here, I guess, as we're moving further down.

“Yeah, unfortunately.”

ACTION> There's a loud humming noise in the walls, then a loud pop, and the power surprisingly comes back on in the entire building.

“That’s not normal.”

Irene looks up at the ceiling, the lights coming back makes her go hmmm. +Will+ "That wasn't me. I don't think. Unless the whole power system is routed through Medical."

+Irene+ “Thank you for the information. We heard a pop over here.”

Rex> I still wouldn't trust the lifts. Let's hustle down to engineering in case the lights go out again.

“Agreed.” William walks towards the stairs.

Rex> +Irene, Indaura+ Get to the science wing if you can before it goes out again. Chocox and I are heading for engineering.

+Rex+ "Understood." She looks over her shoulder. "Dr. Ryssan, we're heading for Science."

William opens the door and heads down the stairs. “What style do you want the massage chair?”

"I'm not liking this area,:

Rex> ::Hurrying down the stairs, though he kept his light handy.:: The floating kind. You just kick back and feel weightless. Like a cloud.

"Yeah, me neither. Let's get going." She puts her instruments back into her kit and checks the facility map on her tricorder. "Not taking the lifts... this way."

“Didn’t realize you going first through that door was so expensive.” William plays his light around the staircase with a laugh.

ACTION> The walls are humming again, slowly rising in pitch.

“That’s disconcerting.”

Rex> Don't act like it's coming out of your personal stores. You're just going to juggle things around until the tallies are in the right columns and... ::pauses:: What is that?

“Humming sir.”

Concerned as she heads for Science, she starts taking readings of the humming. +Others+ "You all hearing the walls... vibrate?"

+Irene+ “Yes, it’s disconcerting.”

ACTION> The humming grows louder, rising to a piercing whine that's enough to rattle the eardrums. Then another pop and they're all plunged into darkness.

“Damnit!”

"Welp, easy come, easy go."

(Bismillah, no, I will not let you go.)

Irene turns her flashlight back on. "I wish it'd leave the go part behind. And the humming. Some kind of resonance in the power system?"

Rex> ::sighs and flips on his light. Continues down the stairs, though slower.::

William turns his light back on as well and continues down. (edited)

+Will+ "Did you check the power nodes? I think that loud pop at the end might be... like a circuit breaker or something."

+Irene+ “We’re almost to engineering and we’ll see.”

Rex> ::reaches the engineering level and steps out of the stairwell, sweeping the corridor.:: Power is off everywhere. Looks like we'll have to force this door, too.

"I can extract records using the power from my tricorder."

“Such a joy. I need to workout more.” William braces to pry it open.

"Yeah, hopefully we can turn the lights back on in Science, too..." She says as she gets to the door. "Come on, give me a hand opening this."

:: Goes over to Irene :: "Alright, let me help a bit."

9:59 PM

"Door can't open with no power..."

Rex> It couldn't hurt. ::smirks as he pushes on his side, inching the door open bit by bit.::

William pushes on his portion of the door.

"No, but I've got this magnetic clamp." She attaches a pair for them. "OK..."

Rex> ::Grunts and disconnects, pushing off the door to shine his light inside. Engineering is dark except for the building's main power source which was dimming and brightening as the power cycled unnaturally.::

William looks in. “That’s not normal.”

Rex> Definitely not.
