USS Manticore - Mondays 10 ET - Command Staff: Captain McFly, Kansas Kenickie

= USS MANTICORE BRIEFING #1265, STARDATE 52404.08 =

= The new Manticore-B was set to receive her new PK module after a lengthy shakedown cruise but the module was intercepted on its way to Starbase -REDACTED-. Manticore has been sent in to investigate. They tracked down the thieves to a space junk yard but subsequently lost the Captain along with the module. Later they uncovered a link to their favorite despicable Ferengi, Mork. Through coercion, he told he was simply a broker for an Admiral Leyton, who is now their number one suspect. After Kansas interrogation of him, she discovered coordinates of the possible location of the module. However, upon crossing into Cardassian space, they picked up a distress comm from Faldek and altered their course. They rescued the party but found themselves in the line of fire from a Cardassian ship. It was destroyed and now they try to finish their mission. Meanwhile, Kansas was reassigned to Presidential security and was able to thwart an assassination attempt at the same time Manticore's module was stolen. A series of picture were sent her way and she learned that a Vorta surgically altered themselves to sneak in as the shooter. Their body has since disappeared. Admiral Jaffee relayed the information about Leyton to Kansas and she tracked down his home. He told her everything which included learning about a faction looking to end Starfleet and one of her more trusted associates is in on it... Lt Ryan. She also discovered the possible location of the module. It proved to be correct. She found the continer that held the module, now empty. But she also found McFly, and not in good shape. She beamed him to her shuttle and went looking for info about the module. In the process found a gang of mercs that she was able to make quick work out of. Back on the shuttle with her intel, she exits the nebula and stumbles upon Manticore. They return to the ship where Matt is able to get medical attention. Faldek and Gila are now a year into an undercover assignment on Cardassia. The purpose of which the crew has not been notified of. They've met up with Edvenent to search for -REDACTED- but had little success. They became separated but in their new assignments were each able to learn key details about a top secret mission to steal a devastating Federation weapon. This weapon they have yet to find however, they did uncover something just as bad... a new battlecruiser class Jem'Hadar ship. The mission took a turn and all three people were able to escape Cardassia and Faldek was able to send all their data to his informant. They were about to head into Federation space when they were given a new mission. Based on Faldek's intel, SFI believes module and this new ship are linked and they've been sent to recon rendezvous coordinates Gila has obtained. Once they arrived they were ambushed by multiple Cardassian ships. They took out one but waited out the other while hoping someone answered their distress call. Manticore arrived and beamed the three Cardassians on board. But just as quickly, a Keldon class Cardassian ship emerged from inside the nebula. The party returned to Manticore as she took a beating but was able to take down the Cardassian ship. = starfleet

::looks at Karl:: Keep a look out for other cardassian ships...we're still licking our wounds from the last battle. I'd hate to be the reason we need a Manticore-C.

::sips her Coffee, looks at Tevek:: How's the Captain doing Doc?

::Grabs another crystal, pops it into her Tric::

::continuing to work as he answers KK:: He has been responsive to the treatments administered so far, but he has suffered some pretty severe injuries.

::gets up and strides over to his replicator:: iced peach tea. ::he watches it materialise and then pick it up, going back to his couch and sits back down, sipping and reading::

::continuing to treat the Captain's injuries, to KK:: As long as it does not prevent me or the rest of the medical staff from performing our work, you are welcome to stay in sickbay as long as you wish.

So I appreciate you all being here. Today's meeting is about information. I would like to begin with our very own Commander Faldek. The floor is yours.

::looks around:: Uh so Hi. I'm back, kind of. After a year on Cardassia Prime I can honestly say it was a crap shoot. We found out about a dreadnought class and the theft of Starfleet equipment and the brief mention of a Nebula.

:: moments later, Gila enters ::

We went to investigate the nebula that Dr. Orrak got information on, alas only finding a couple pissed off Keldon's which are now space debris.

:: Sits ::

::brings up a photo of the Dreadnought on the screen:: This is the ship the Dominion is hiding, and I think our ultimate end target, though we cannot take it on alone, heck even with a few ships.

I also think given the new intel, that they may have adapted the PK module to be used on this big mfer.

I got a photo of that ship from a source along with a vorta and 2 fleet officers working with him

I"ve seen it, up close and in person, it's bigger than anything I've ever seen.

::shakes his head:: We're gonna need an Armada.

Working on that information I figured out where they were taken. a Nebula.. but I only found Captain McFly there when I reached that area

::continues treating the Captain's injuries, periodically checking biobed readout for updates on his condition::

So based on what I've read concerning the ships current status we need to go completely recon and find out the location of this ship so we can send in the fleet.

I was able to steal a bunch of Data crystals and PADD's from the cargo ship in that nebula

Have they yielded any useful intel?

I am still going through it, but since the PK module is so big and it was in that cargo ship it can't be very far from where we are now

Yeah, probably. Unfortunately I can only make recommendations based on the limited intel on hand, which is still, recon the area, find the dreadnought and get backup here.

Jaffee gave me a clearance to do what I need to do to get the PK back.. so I don't plan on holding back on my actions

From the limited information I have I know that our XO, the Doctor and Edvenent were together, so I would have to assume that the Commander has given us the most information possible he is detailed in that way. So now comes the hard part. What should we do next? I heard Commander Faldek's recommendation. Anyone else? (edited)

I think the only thing we can do is recon the area, without the cloak on my ship I am stuck here

::looks at Erich:: I hadn't seen any reports as of yet, suggesting they captured one of our ships.

BTW I paid a good deal for that shiip

In all fairness even if Manticore wasn't damaged, I still wouldn't suggest trying to fight this Dreadnought.
