No obvious answers found. I do want those crystal samples studied.

Maybe they can give some clues to the planets geology and give us a direction to look deeper.

Oddly, nothing but heat.

Wonder if they were growing on them because of energy output? Looking for energy sources as nucleation points?

Anything else and we did not detect it.

We'll need a different plan if we go back down there.

One test I want to try is to dissolve the crystals. See if they will revert back to gas or whatever their source was once energy is removed from the device and the atmospheric contitions are set to what they were in the caves.

We'll need to be sure everyone knows not to breach containment. I would almost advise anything done with the crystals to be done away from our facilities, if that were possible.

A breach with all the equipment we have here and we could make the whole place look like we're walking around inside a geode.

I don't think we have time to set up proper equipment elsewhere or even move them to the Fed colony. But we do need to take precautions. As you said, we don't need a coating of this on everything else.

Treat it like we're dealing with some airborne viral sample. Medical setup.

We can try that. Though that won't be possible where we're trying to increase the tempuratures to simulate the caves.

And in case we don't learn anything new, we'll need to plan another cave expedition. While that is going on, we need to finalize evacuation plans.

Hopefully whoever we're dealing with has waiting a long time and is willing to wait a few more eons while we work this out.

Three of the beacons and my tricorder had contamination. And most had multiple formations.

Plenty to work with - which I'm not sure is necessarily good.

For the most part yes. Some of the equipment got contaminated wait to see what is to be done with it.

As an alternative to negative pressure buffer zones, we could just cram every bit of outdated but still powerable devices in a perimeter around the lab and hope anything escaping settles on that instead of going further out.

Not necessarily a great idea, mind you, just something I'm throwing out there as an alternative if we feel like we couldn't completely isolate the lab.

Unless we can project her without anything that would need to go in and out.

Do we have a spare emitter? That could essentially be just for in there, and wouldn't need to cross containment?

We can replicate and fabricate anything we need here.

We're geared up to build a colony and a spaceport, we have this covered.

"Sure, presuming we are not contaminated. I'll run tests now before replication."

"I have a location, directing some engineer teams there. They will move in the necessary equipment."

While the transporters showed clear of any contamination after we were beamed out, I still want the samples physically moved from now on. If we do have to make a full evacuation, I do not want transporters compromised.
