MISSION BRIEFING: Excalibur is currently in orbit of the agricultural colony of Trakis III responding to a muddled distress call. Arriving, they have found the colony to be completely deserted. The AT, when we left off, was about to enter the central administration complex, from which the the distress signal is eminating.

Rex> Keeping his phaser trained in one hand, and his tricorder in the other as they approached the double doors of the central administrative building

Irene steps up to the control panel, phaser in hand. "Let me know when, commander."

:: Scanning as she walked ::

Stanton> Frowns

ACTION> The motion sensing doors open as the team approaches. Look this isn't 1990.

Rex> Well at least something is working here. Takes the lead through the doors.

ACTION> The reception entry area of the complex is open and airy, but there's still zero sign of any life. It is as if they simply vanished.

“That’s good the doors are working. Everything else is creepy.”

Irene> "Huh. Thought the power grid was down, guess not. Anyway..." She starts scanning for any residual energy signatures in the reception area.

Rex> It's so quiet you can hear the air handlers. Frowns

“That’s also atypical.”

ACTION> Nothing weird on scanners. The distress beacon is being sent from the communications array, which is atop the facility. The floorplan, which loads quickly onto their tricorders, indicates that is on the second floor.

9:19 PM

Stanton> Frowns Alright. Mincine, Ryssan why don't you two go check the squints at his tricorder the medical facility on this floor. Chocox and Rex head up to the control room.

"Where is everyone?"

“You got it.”

Stanton> Reynolds and I will see what we can get from the reception computers.

Irene> "Not picking up any transporter traces or anything here. OK, let's go check out the medical bay." She heads off in that direction with her satchel of science equipment.

Rex> Nods Stairs just over there down that hall way with the restrooms.

William walks towards the control room with Rex.

:: Following ::

Rex> Heads up the stairs. On the second floor there was a balcony overlooking the main entrance/reception/lounge area and then a hall way leading towards a set of opaque glass doors labeled "COLONIAL ADMINISTRATION"

“Nice to have it labeled conveniently.”

ACTION> The Medical Facility is attached to the colonial admin building, down a hallway with a number of administrative offices. Indura and Irene would first come to the "waiting room" for the clinic, which is like everything else, shows no signs of current life. (edited)

Rex> Smirks, points to the door lock I'll try to override the security lock.

Irene> She enters the waiting room area, seeing nobody around. "Hmm. Can you check the medical equipment, see if anyone left any clues? I'm going to check the computer records."

Rex> Bites his lip, It's not locked.

“What?”

Rex> It's not locked. Motions for Will to open the door.

Will presses the open button.

ACTION> The doors slide open. The control center is a standard design for a federation colony. There's a number of displays on the walls with various systems shown, a large central console with a hologlyph of the colony, etc. But again people.

Rex> This is damned peculiar.

“That’s an understatement.”

Rex> Alright lets see what we can find. The communications station should be over ... there.

“Here?”

"This could be a long wait."

Irene> "Well, take a look at the exam rooms, I guess. See if there was anything going on when everyone disappeared." She takes a seat at the reception desk and flips through records on the computer there.

Rex> Nods

William starts typing to find the logs.

ACTION> The console flickers to life. The display shows it is repeating the same distress call we heard earlier, but the full text is now available: This is Governor Atrium Garin of Trakis III. Request immediate assistance from any Starfleet Vessel.

“This can’t be the only message in the log.”

ACTION> However, Will notices something off about the message that we didn't get on Excalibur. The time stamp is for a date in the future.

“Huh…[expletive deleted] it’s time travel again?!”

ACTION> The rest of messages in the log are simply routine communications banal every day communication, and then the distress call.

9:37 PM

Rex> Frowns What do you mean.

“The distress signal is in the future.”

Irene> "The only thing on here is a bunch of nag screens about people missing appointments. So they had no warning of it here, either."

Rex> Frowns and takes a look But that shouldn't be possible. Like even setting aside time travel. How is it sending a message now with a timestamp in the future?

9:40 PM

Rex> Hits some buttons in his tricorder +Mincine+ Do your scans show any traces of chroniton particles?

“You know, if I knew that I’d probably be a Daystrom prize winner. Unless this distress signal was set as a trap and accidentally got sent early through error.”

Rex> What about the rest of the entries? I am not detecting any chronotron radiation.

"How can it be from the future if we are here now?'

“The rest of the entries are dated as they should be.”

((Will and Rex are in the comms center, y'all are in medical ))

Rex> Could they be forged entries?

“Who would go through the hassle of forging normal comms?”

Irene> To Ryssan. "Hmm? There's nothing out of the ordinary on the computer here. Nothing's from the future." (edited)

Rex> Shrugs and walks over to another console, labeled 'colonial secuity'

“Like, maybe a couple of the top ones, but we’re talking days upon days worth of normal looking messages. It’s not worth it.”

Rex> Frowns Nothing out of the ordinary here. Looks like their last entry was... just before we received the distress signal.

“Hm…”

Rex> What about general operations. Anything on their power grid...kind of thing?

"Not really, nothing that would lead me to believe that something bad was about to happen. It's all what you would expect from a Federation colony."

Rex> Yeah same in the security logs. The last entry is just a shift change.

9:51 PM

Rex> +Irene+ Rex to Mincine. Have you detected any chronoton radiation or anything out of the ordinary?

"Curiouser and curiouser."

Rex> Sits down and nods to Will while he waits for Irene.

Irene> +Rex+ "Mincine here. No chronitons. I hope there are none up there, either."

"None so far."

Rex> +Irene+ No, none here either. BUt we did find something weird. Everything up here is as normal as you could ask for except the distress signal has a time stamp from a few days from now.

Rex> Leans back in his chair, looks to Will Let's put time travel aside for the moment, what other things could cause a time stamp to be wrong on a distress signal. Because we clearly got that several days ago.

"Um, central computer's clock is wrong, it was somehow inputted so incorrectly that it corrupted the time code, computer virus."

Rex> Check for that then. Bites his lip +Irene+ We're going to keep looking around up here. You guys find anything down there yet?

Irene> +Rex+ "The medical records down here are all dated correctly. Dr. Ryssan hasn't found anything either, I think."

William starts poking around the computer system for various different errors that could have been introduced into the system.

:: shakes her head no ::

Irene> +Rex+ "No, nothing from her either."

Stanton> +Irene/Rex+ Having been listening in. Reynolds and I haven't found anything out of the ordinary here either. We're going to go check the administrative wing where the governor's office is. Keep looking.

10:00 PM

Rex> Still chewing on his lip, he started cycling through more reports as well. There was an Andorian freighter that departed a few hours before the distress signal. Wonder why they didn't respond.

"Is there any video feed?"

Rex> Patches into the Excalibur databanks I'll see if we can get their flight plan.

Irene> "Video feed for what, exactly?"

"Alright. Do you have the name?"

Rex> The Celeste
