USS Manticore - Mondays 10 ET - Command Staff: Captain McFly, Kansas Kenickie

= USS MANTICORE BRIEFING #1261, STARDATE 52403.11 =

= The new Manticore-B was set to receive her new PK module after a lengthy shakedown cruise but the module was intercepted on its way to Starbase -REDACTED-. Manticore has been sent in to investigate. They tracked down the thieves to a space junk yard but subsequently lost the Captain along with the module. Later they uncovered a link to their favorite despicable Ferengi, Mork. Through coersion, he told he was simply a broker for an Admiral Leyton, who is now their number one suspect. However, Manticore has just recieved word of a massive Dominion ship that has just destroyed the Defiant class USS Valiant leaving few survivors. Starfleet Intelligence believes it may be linked to the stolen module and they've been sent in to investigate. Meanwhile, Kansas was reassigned to Presidential security and was able to thwart an assassination attempt at the same time Manticore's module was stolen. A series of picture were sent her way and she learned that a Vorta surgically altered themselves to sneak in as the shooter. Their body has since disappeared. Admiral Jaffee relayed the information about Leyton to Kansas and she has since tracked him down and is determined to get some answers. Faldek and Gila are now a year into an undercover assignment on Cardassia. The purpose of which the crew has not been notified of. They've met up with Edvenent to search for -REDACTED- but had little success. They became separated but in their new assignments were each able to learn key details about a top secret mission to steal a devastating Federation weapon. This weapon they have yet to find however, they did uncover something just as bad... a new battlecruiser class Jem'Hadar ship. The mission took a turn and all three people were able to escape Cardassia and Faldek was able to send all their data to his informant. They were about to head into Federation space when they were given a new mission. Based on Faldek's intel, SFI believes module and this new ship are linked and they've been sent to recon rendezvous coordinates Gila has obtained. = starfleet

I'm working on my letter to Admiral Jaffee requesting her sponsorship for me to remain in Starfleet. It's.... it's just not my nature to try and brag about my accomplishments or why she should keep me around.

I can only advise using a spell checker commander. I used one on my Starfleet Intelligence inquiry a couple years ago.

Depends on the software Annika, but the AI seems to have basic down pat. Don't use the autocorrect for Klingon EJ.

You see, after I was discharged from Starfleet I was met with a group believed as I did, that the Federation, and ultimately Earth, was significantly unprepared for a Dominion attack. They said all the right things and I believed them to share my concerns. Together we devised a plan that would frame Cardassia in stealing Starfleet's most devastating weapon that they have, your planet killing module. The goal was to show Starfleet that they are not infallible nor out of reach from our enemies. ::looks Kansas in the eye:: They were never going to get the weapon. At least... as far as I was concerned.

::still holding the ship silent and motionless, hoping the Keldon's didn't see it::

Bad software for Klingons to use : Federation Autocorrect software. The AI just cannot handle Klingon Inflection so the linguists tell the Software engineers. :: smiles ::

"They" are a group made up of rebel from all across the Federation who believe Starfleet has gained too much control and that their influence needs to be weakened.

I learned late in my time with them that this plan wasn't to scare the Federation into toughening up security, instead, they actually wanted the weapon used against Earth. And they had Cardassia to help them.

I don't know where they are now. The plan fell through when Manticore, and ultimately the module, was destroyed. My influence weakened and their distrust of me grew. It wasn't long before I was removed. Hence the guards that, I hope, you left alive.

It would be nice to have a mess hall off of the bridge. Get a little peckish, boom, food! And tables!

I need names... a many as you can remember

The problem is Cardassia is now with the Dominion. It seems they never gave up on this mission. And I heard Manticore was reborn. Again as a Nebula class. And evidently with a new weapon module that Starfleet "doesn't use or condone".

I should have known something was up when they brought out a Vorta. I allowed myself to be too naive.

Use my computer to extrapolate the picture of the nebula. Filter it with Cardassian astrometrics data. That should narrow down roughly the coordinates. (edited)
