MISSION BRIEF: Many moons prior, when we last gamed, we diverted to investigate a distress call from a small agricultural colony on Trakis III. As we picked up, we were arriving in orbit.

William is in Engineering, getting the last things ready for their arrival at Trakis III>

Val> "Entering standard orbit."

On the bridge, frowning

Rex> Nothing on sensors. Frowns deeper. And I mean nothing. Power signatures on the colony are minimal, no sign of attack or any alien vessels.

Looks over to Jalen

Irene is down packing in the science lab.

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::In his chair, reading over the sensor logs. Shakes his head.:: Have we gotten anything else from the message? Still garbled?

Rex> Nods Degraded at the source.

:: Getting all manners of preparations ready in sickbay ::

Val> "I can tell ya where the transmission came from, that's about it."

"Reynolds! Are all the teams ready?"

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::looks to Swain:: I'll take a team down.

:Nods:

Ens Reynolds> Sir! We're as ready as we're going to be. ::Grabs his kit::

"Glad to hear it. Let's get everyone to the transporter rooms." William walks into the Turbolift

+Bridge+ "Sickbay is ready."

Irene shows up at the scheduled turbolift, backpack full of equipment. "Science's ready."

Cdr Jalen Stanton> +Indaura+ Doctor, meet us in the transporter room.

Rex> Tags in a junior and heads to the lift.

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::Sends out the call for the team to assemble and heads for the lift.::

William looks around at the assorted people going down. "What, no Captain?"

Irene> "What, you think we need his supervision?"

"No, just a whole lot of people."

Irene> "Better to have everything covered if we don't know what's going on down there." Shrug, which is somewhat impressive with her giant backpack.

ACTION> By the magic of television they all screen wipe into the transporter room in question

"Not complaining about how many people are going down."

:: Enters the transporter room ::

"Hello Doctor."

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::steps onto the pad:: Everyone ready?

Rex> Frowns "How much trouble can they get into" steps onto the pad

Irene> Steps onto the pad. "Let's get down there and find out."

"I'm not called Lieutenant Boom Boom for no reason Rex."

(Test)

Irene> "Who calls you that...?"

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::Snickers.:: You don't know his reputation?

Rex> It was one of the first things I learned about him.

"Apparently only those Lieutenant Commander and above."

((Pass Miranda.))

ACTION> Shimmer shimmer. All transport in lovely sparkles.

"I don't get down to Engineering much." She says before they disappear to commercial. (edited)

ACTION> The AT materializes on an idyllic scene in the center of the Federation colony. There's no one in sight. There is however, a lovely water feature at the center of the "square." It looks like everyone simply, vanished.

ACTION2> There are signs people were at various stalls around the square, which appears to be a farmers market, but again, simply vanished. There's a bicyle leaning against one of the stalls, a doll sitting on the edge of the fountain, etc etc

"Well, this isn't creepy."

Rex> Makes dueling banjo noises

Irene> Taking in the surroundings, she looks pretty creeped out, too. "I've read enough case reports to know..." Pointing at the water feature. "...that is the source of our problems." Pointing a tricorder at it.

"We'd need people for dueling banjos Rex." William pulls out his own tricorder and starts scanning. (edited)

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::Grunts:: If anyone finds any strange crystals here, do NOT touch or activate them in any way.

Rex> Smirks The water fountain.

9:36 PM

Rex> What about a hoe down in a barn?

William appears to go through a massive flashback. "No touching. And do you hear a hoe down coming from anywhere Rex?"

Irene> "We better not be stuck in a crystal prison again..."

Ens Reynolds> ::scanning:: I don't like abandoned villages much.

Rex> Nothing tactical. Looking at his tricorder It's as if they've simply disappeared.

:: Gets out her scanner :: "This is disconcerting."

Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::Begins to walk through the market, searching for signs of people.::

Rex> No signs of weapons fire or.... anything. Frowns The colony's central command complex is that way. points

Cdr Jalen Stanton> Best place to start. Let's go.

William follows the direction Rex pointed, still scanning as he goes.

Rex> Nods and starts walking in that direction.

Irene takes a water sample from the water feature before taking off for the command complex.

ACTION> As the team moves through the town they seem more signs of sudden abandonment evey where. Doors left open, bikes hanging out, stuff left out. Clothes drying on lines.

"New question, is this a space Amish colony like Captain Swain's home planet or do they use actual technology?"

Rex> Smirks No there's technology. Just... its all offline?

"Hm. Interesting."

Cdr Jalen Stanton> And they do have the beacon and some ability to transmit.

"Fair enough. I think we're here." William says as they approach the command center. "Shall we go inside?"

Ens Reynolds> ::Eyeing the left out food they passed, wondering if any of it was still good.::

"Reynolds, I swear on any deities that exist if you get food poisoning..."

Ens Reynolds> What?! I was just examining.

Irene> "Well, I can use the decay to figure out how long it's all been like this, can't I?" Now she points a tricorder at someone's dinner. (edited)

"Yes, yes you can."

ACTION> The central command complex is a fairly standard colonial complex. It too looks like no one is around.

"Well, I'm going to open the door and go inside if no one has any objections." William walks up and presses the open button. ((Assuming it's a building, and not an open-air market.))

(( Yeah think like, a one or two story office building))

Rex> Looks around the base The beacon is inside.

Cdr Jalen Stanton> Let's go. Eyes open. ::gives Rex a nod::
