USS Manticore - Mondays 10 ET - Command Staff: Captain McFly, Kansas Kenickie

= USS MANTICORE BRIEFING #1242, STARDATE 52310.23 = starfleet

= Manticore has been sent to Starbase 23 near the Romulan neutral zone to confirm a new weapon designed against the Changelings. Along the way, they received a distress call, the sender of which claims to be the son of Captain McFly and Commander Kenickie but DNA tests conclude that Erich is the real father. He does, however, bring warnings about the future. McFly decides to cautiously continue with the mission along with calling for fleet backup. Upon arrival to the station, an away team met with the woman leading the project, Dr Moira Taggert. She performed a weapons test on a compound approximating Changeling physiology. And then suddenly, Romulans! They planned to destroy the station, saying it had been taken over by Changelings. McFly was able to suspend their attack with the condition they root out any Changelings on board. They found one, the scientist Dr Moira Taggert. And soon after, they found more... a lot more. Kansas and Nathan tried to beam back the away team and destroy the station themselves. But were foiled by Matt. Two Jem'Hadar ships dropped out of warp, destroyed the two Romulan ships and then critically damaged Manticore forcing them to limp away towards a nearby planet and crash landing to avoid complete destruction. = starfleet

ACTION> MANTICORE SITS IN HER GRAVE SHE DUG HERSELF AFTER CRASHING INTO THE PLANET

::dusts some debris off her body and looks around, slowly stands up::

::got seen by a medic and apparently has no permanent damage, just minor contusions::

::leaning near his console:: That was not the best thing to happen. I guess it could have been worse! I could be in Stovokor.

:: tries to get up from the floor in Engineering...her head throbbing from her previous injury, her hand reaches for the Pool Table which seems taller than it was before::

::after checking his own condition, starts treating injured near the Armory where he had been at the time of the crash::

:: blurry vision reveals emergency lighting....how long was she out? ::

:::Climbing out of the Mess hall with Nate's help::

:: Is knelt by one of the side bulkhead hatches, scanning inside it with a tricorder :: Stovokor may have been a better alternative.... Lieutenant Pilot...

:: stands gingerly looking around....noting Ensign Pliers on the Pool table, she walks over and checks for a pulse...finding none....she struggles to place the deceased Ensign on the DecK::

::Coughs, pushes a door open::

:: wave of nausea hits her again as she stands up fully again and notes the damage...::

::trying not to panic:: I can't believe we actually crashed. This isn't good.

::finishes treating crewmember he was assiting and starts moving in the direction of sickbay, stopping to address injuries as he encounters them::

::Akwardly climbs up the tube::

:: Raised an eyebrow at Feldek's statement as he unhooked a small conduit and connected it to another, making the Ops station flicker slightly ::

KARL> Shouldn't we wait for Commander Kenickie

::still doesn't know about the situation with KK and Nate::

:::Pops open the hatch to the Bridge and climbs out::

::notes the Hatch popping open and pulls his mek'leth:: Halt! Who goes there?!

:: Gets up, shutting the tricorder, walking over to Ops as it flickered a little less than before, leaning over and tapping at the console, shaking his head as he tried to get some readings ::

::follows from behind and climbs onto the bridge::

::checks the phaser she had clipped to her side::

:: Swings around at E.J. yelling Halt ::

::hears, and then turns to see the hatch pop open, seeing KK and Nate appear::

::Turns her wrist light off::: it's just me

+McFly+ Sir....Both Cores are scrammed, in safe mode...The Nacelles are lost....we were hit by some beam weapon that cut into the deck above Main Engineering...the safety systems.. prevented catastrophic explosion.

::re-holsters his mek'leth, goes to help KK onto the bridge:: Welcome to what's left of the bridge Commander.

+Tyrel+ Understood. So we don't have any hope of moving?

::Dusts herself off, eyes McFly... making sure he is alright::

That's also good to hear. +Security+ Arm yourselves and secure all decks. Report any Jem Hadar sightings.

I imagine the Jem'Hadar will be around shortly to finish the job.

::checks his phaser and tricorder, making sure they still work, and they do::

::looks up at Kansas:: Bruised. Don't know what else right now.

::Takes McFly's hand:: We got this

ACTION> THE TWO JEM'HADAR SHIPS FLY DOWN FROM THE UPPER ATMOSPHERE AND DIVE TOWARDS MANTICORE; THEY START FIRING THEIR DISRUPTOR CANNONS AT THE HELPLESS SHIP

::falls down as they are hit::

ACTION> CHUNKS OF HULL FLY OFF THE SHIP'S FRAME AS THE WEAPONS FIRE BEATS AND DIGS INTO THE SHIP

::holds onto her console as sparks fly around her::

I hate to say this. But shouldn't we abandon ship?

:: Stumbles, grabbing the Ops console for support ::

::Falls to the right, curses::

::shakes at weapons impact, braces against wall::

::is knocked down from the shudder of the ship and loses KK's hand::

::Starts quietly working down a 'combadge tree' checking on his direct reports, asking them to check on others in turn::

:: notes the impacts...with nothing to stop them... they feel worse ::

::to EJ:: What are the odds of this thing protecting us?

Well we've got several shuttles and runabouts between the three shuttlebays, but not nearly enough to evacuate even a quarter of the crew...

If they continue to fire volleys like next to nothing. I suggest we may want to take cover under the trees in the forest. (edited)

They are hitting just the ablative armor....keep the power on for the captain...that is all we can do.

I agree, we need to get transport inhibitors and life sign dampeners and head for the trees (edited)

I agree. Help everyone get off the ship. Have your men keep a watch on any soldiers walking through.

+ALL HANDS+ This the the captain! Evacuate the ship! I repeat, evacuate Manticore. Take cover under the nearby tree canopy. Grab a weapon if you can but get off the ship as quickly as possible.

:: checks the Chief's office ...which is in shambles....and notes he is not there... then hears the Order to Abandon ship ::

We need to grab supplies no telling how long we'll be out here.

There are plans for all these scenarios, senior staff should know the drill.

ACTION> THE JEM'HADAR SHIPS CIRCLE BACK AROUND AND ATTACK WITH ANOTHER DISRUPTOR VOLLEY

KARL> I will grab the portable distress beacon

::hears the announcement and starts heading towards nearest airlock...stumbles as the ship is hit again::

::readies her phaser and heads to the exit with Bren::

:: Stumbles as he moved away from Ops as the ship was hit ::

Alright,let's go, let's go. Everyone off the bridge. We're in one of the precarious places on the ship.

:::Gets to her feet, Helps McFly to his feet::

One could assume that. The magnetic locks should have kept them in place, unless they somehow got disabled.

::looks at McFly:: Captain, I think we should at least check that would give us a way to survey and protect ourselves as we evac...

:: stuggles to keep moving...using the wall to steady her moves ::

:::Pops the Hatch to the evacuation port on the Bridge::

+McFly+ Yes, captain. Fortunately, there have been no issues evacuating the injured who were in sickbay. The injured who did not make it to sickbay might be in a more difficult situation...

ACTION> THE JEM'HADAR FLY BACK AROUND AGAIN THIS TIME ON OF THE DISRUPTOR BOLTS HITS JUST TO THE LEFT OF THE BRIDGE DESTROYING THE READY ROOM AND AND TOSSING EVERYONE STILL ON THAT SIDE OF THE ROOM TO THE FAR OPPOSITE SIDE (edited)

::struggles to get to his feet with debris on his back; he does but stumbles in the process; helps herd the last couple of people off the bridge and down the hatch::

:: Grabs Faldek's hand, getting to his feet, he grabbed his side :: Damn....

::moves out of the hatch:: Well I guess that was a crap shoot.

:::Climbs out the port:::

:: Moves towards the hatch, climbing down ::

::Scrambles back to his feet:: I did not see this day turning out this way....

::is last off the bridge, double checking::

::makes it to an airlock, exits, then starts assisting others in exiting::::

::with loadout bags in hand::

:::Helps people exit the ship:: Keep low

::Nods, keeps low as directed and heads to the tree canopy::

::follows close to Kansas; notes a crewman on the floor; helps them get to their feet and brings them along with the rest::

::moves to Faldek, handing him his:: I think you may need this, sir.

::takes the bag:: Thank you.

ACTION> CUE DRAMATIC MUSIC AS THE CREW STRUGGLES TO EXIT THE SHIP

:: Stays near Faldek, wincing a bit as he moved quickly ::

::looks at Harnett struggling:: Can you walk?

::Finds it strangely disorienting to be worried about being personally shot by a ship-based weapon like a phaser. That's not how it's supposed to work::

::sees Callista:: Yes, of course, Lieutenant. ::guides her away from the bulkhead and out of the ship::

::Looks for McFly:: MATT

::moves with them as they make a move to the foliage::

:: falls unsconscious...for some reason...seeing the Doctor...makes her think she can rest...so untrue...::

::looking his mother in the eye for what he feels is the last time:: Time hasn't changed. I'm still here. It's all happening exactly as it did before. We have to destroy that station. I don't know how but we have to do it.

:: Nods as he picks up the pace, matching the others speed, clearing in a state of discomfort ::

::notices Callista falling unconscious, stops and picks her up::

::looks to Harnett:: I am no full fledge Doctor but you look like you're in discomfort.

:::Pushes past people looking for McFly:::

::exits the ship carrying Callista, spots where the rest of the crew is heading towards the tree canopy and heads over there::

::ushering people along while keeping an eye out for any cloaking distortions; see's Kansas and Nathan run up to him::

We have to keep moving. We need to get away from the ship.

::stops near Harnett, and pulls out a medical tricorder:: Let's take a look.

:::Finds McFly:: we need to get back to that station... it's the only way to change the timeline

I think we're a little past that now. What you need to do is protect the crew.

::are armed with phaser rifles and phasers::

Distroying that station is protecting the crew

::reviewing the results of the scan::

::looking at the medical tricorder screen as Pilot is scanning Harnett::

Yeah and how do you expect to do that. The ship is dead. Anyone's only chance is waiting for that backup to arrive.

we still have shuttles... I am will to go and take the station down

::puts his hand on Matt's shoulder:: Dad... I know you don't understand. I hope you never do. But this is something we have to do. I don't know how but we have to try. Otherwise... it's all over.

::carrying Callista towards the the trees and the rest of the crew::

::starts pulling Kansas back with him and towards the ship::

::looking around, hears McFly yelling, decides to head off in that direction::

:: Let out a sigh, then winces again as he moved just slightly ::

:::goes into his bag and grabs a hypo of pain meds then injects Harnett::

::looks around to find Faldek; spots him and runs over::

:: unconscious...her face bandage fell off in the fight....::

Captain, what's going on?

::opens up medkit and begins scanning Callista...also notices, for the first time, that the burn treatment on her face got disturbed during the crash::

KARL> :::Setting up distress equpiment::

::looking at the bandage, to self:: She will likely be displeased about that...

Kansas and Nathan are going to take a shuttle back to the station to "blow it up" ::air quotes it:: I have to go after them. Stay here and look after the crew. Backup should arrive in a day and a half.

::safely under some trees for cover:: What now?

:: His pointy ears picked up McFly's yelling as he felt the pain mads kick in, turns to look towards McFly and Faldek ::

No Captain, you need to stay here with the crew.

::looks at Faldek and McFly:: Wonder what is going on?

:::Runs as fast as she can with Nate:::

::stops walking when the brass do::

+Tevek+ Doctor, do you have any compression wrap for bruised ribs?

::sees Faldek and the captain but is out of earshot, leans on a tree::

::sighs:: They have you and Pilot.

::looks at the results of brain scan on tricorder to see if the concussion is worse than it was on the ship::

And at this point they're probably right. That thing needs to be destroyed. Nathan has been right about almost everything so far.

Matt! I was a spy, I know how to blow things up.

+Pilot+ I believe there is one in my Medkit. I am currently evaluating Lt. Tyrel's concussion.

::reaches the ship with Kansas; climbs back up into the airlock with her::

How?! How are you going to blow it? With a shuttle!

+Tevek+ Copy that Doctor. If possible I'd like to borrow that for Lt Harnett. I will come to you.

:::Pulls the manual hatch and opens the shuttle bay doors;::

I didn't actually mean we were going to do it. ::shrugs:: I was just like, going to... I don't know.

::looks at Harnett:: You stay here. That is an order.

::Clears his throat and spits... the resulting spot at his feet is dark gray and... sparkly?:: Captain, Commander, I think I can be of assistance here. I am pretty familiar, at this point, with the weapon. I am confident the two of us can make some fireworks.

:: Raised an eyebrow at Pilot's order ::

I also used to be the chief engineer, so I can figure it out if it isn't blatantly apparent. If the Chimera is operable, she can make it. I still have some tricks up my sleeve. Also what he said.

+Pilot+ You are welcome to borrow it.

::begins looking around for Tevek while remembering where Harnett is::

Taggerts thing? You mean it actually works?

Yes. But no. BUt yes.... for our purposes it can be used to destroy the station.

::looks at Callista's tricorder scan readings...does not appear to be any new injuries::

::thinks for a hard minute then looks at Faldek:: You KNOW you can actually do it?

::sees Pilot and gestures to where his medkit is, goes back to Callista's results::

:::Climbs into Nates shuttle::: Lets hope it still works

::sets up in his runabout he arrived in our timeline with; starts it up::

::Nods, agreeing with Faldek, slowly and solemnly and very confidently:: Big boom.

::nods, grabbing them from the bag:: Thank you Doctor!

::looking over Callista's readings, determines there is nothing to do for the concussion yet, will focus on trying to repair the burn treatment::

I've been working out three times a week with various holodeck protocols KK shared with me, I can't outrun you but I can hopefully outrun Jem'Hadar phasers ::smiles weakly::

:: Ears perked up as the runabout blasted its way through the shuttlebay doors ::

::looks as the hole is blown:: What in the hell!?

::walks up to Pilot:: Let's get everyone moving as far from the ship as possible

::looks at McFly:: Aye.

KARL> I will move to a high point with the beacon

::begins wrapping Thomas' chest::

TBS will be about 10 minutes. The crew will have moved further from the ship and Faldek and Bren will have just exited the planet in the Chimera.
