USS Manticore - Mondays 10 ET - Command Staff: Captain McFly, Kansas Kenickie

= USS MANTICORE BRIEFING #1239, STARDATE 52310.02 = starfleet

= Manticore has been sent to Starbase 23 near the Romulan neutral zone to confirm a new weapon designed against the Changelings. Along the way, they received a distress call, the sender of which claims to be the son of Captain McFly and Commander Kenickie but DNA tests conclude that Erich is the real father. He does, however, bring warnings about the future. McFly decides to cautiously continue with the mission along with calling for fleet backup. Upon arrival to the station, an away team met with the woman leading the project, Dr Moira Taggert. She performed a weapons test on a compound approximating Changeling physiology. And then suddenly, Romulans! They planned to destroy the station, saying it had been taken over by Changelings. McFly was able to suspend their attack with the condition they root out any Changelings on board. They found one, the scientist Dr Moira Taggert. And soon after, they found more... a lot more. = starfleet

Two Engineers> :: look at eachother before one speaks up:: We have reason to believe The Lieutenant from the Manticore was Negligent in her duties and caused the explosion at the terminal she was working on.

::turns off dermal regnerator and looks up at Dr. Orrak:: It is proceeding as well as could be expected. I believe I shall be able to conclude treatment of the burns shortly. Unfortunately, I am unsure if there is anything more we can do to address her concussion at this time.

My Starfleet medical training was not too long ago, and there was an emphasis on treatment of injuries you might expect in accidents in space, including plasma burns.

+McFly+ Jaenke has only identified Mopar in operations. The rest we don't know.

I'm a little confused, to be honest, but the changed readings are tremendously helpful. This thing is charging... what we saw during the demo was actually a very active burst of it gathering material. I almost think someone has a sense of humor. ::trails off a second::

+McFly+ Ok we'll beam the minor crew members that are not chagngelings to Manticore as we indentify them. I think that will be the best to avoid being found out.

::trying not to panic:: None of this is going right. I shouldn't still be here. And if the station is full of changelings then there's no saving anyone.

This thing is actually housing two relatively small chambers, one looks to be full of tricobalt, as in the explosive. The other one isn't full yet, but is gathering trilithium resin. I think the light show might be a modified warp core generating it. So, if you hypothetically plug in a quantum torpedo into the rear end of this, and fire it, you would get a massive bomb that could mess with subspace, and an instant environment toxic to humans. But not Cardiassians.
