USS Manticore - Mondays 10 ET - Command Staff: Captain McFly, Kansas Kenickie

= USS MANTICORE BRIEFING #1238, STARDATE 52309.25 = starfleet

= Manticore has been sent to Starbase 23 near the Romulan neutral zone to confirm a new weapon designed against the Changelings. Along the way, they received a distress call, the sender of which claims to be the son of Captain McFly and Commander Kenickie but DNA tests conclude that Erich is the real father. He does, however, bring warnings about the future. McFly decides to cautiously continue with the mission along with calling for fleet backup. Upon arrival to the station, an away team met with the woman leading the project, Dr Moira Taggert. She performed a weapons test on a compound approximating Changeling physiology. And then suddenly, Romulans! They planned to destroy the station, saying it had been taken over by Changelings. McFly was able to suspend their attack with the condition they root out any Changelings on board. So far, they haven't had much success. The Romulans gave them the remainder of their time but they need to find something, and quick. Faldek has arrested the scientist they met when they first came to the station. But was that the right move? = starfleet

::sees Faldek enter:: I want your name and your service number. I'm submitting your name immediately to Starfleet Command.

Doctor Taggert, so I'm going to give you one chance to tell me the truth. Then I'm going to bring someone in who will either exonerate you, or prove my hunch right. If you make me do this the hard way there will be absolutely no chance of any deals being made.

::starting to feel more anxious about the situation; wishes he knew more about what happened here::

::walks around over to Bren and Annika; sighs:: So, Chief, after all this, how was that weapon? ::chuckles::

::gives Taggert a look, the look that says last chance::

::offers a frustrated sigh:: DOCTOR... Moira... Taggert. And who are you?

::curious about the weapon::

:: as she spins the dabo wheel in her dream....a Cardassian....taps on Callista's shoulder and reminds her of her mission.... She thinks it is the tailor from Deep Space Nine...but everything is in a haze....the mission...? Oh.....:: notes the wheel comes to a stop:: Dabbo!!! ::

::removes medical instruments from the tray to continue treatment of the plasma burns:: The plasma burns are responding to treatment, but there does not appear to be a noticeable change in her concussion.

::sighs:: You're provoking me, while the Romulans sit outside this station waiting to destroy us all.

::nods to the nurse:: I currently believe there will not be any permanent physical damage to Lt. Tyrel. It is a positive sign that she is showing mental activity, hopefully she will return to consciousness. But there is not much we can do to assist in that at this point.

And figure out what's going on with that weapon. I'll assume it won't work against her own people, but we need to make sure it's not for us.

It'll be fine. I'm sure we've already changed things. Nathan never once mentioned anything about catching a changeling. I believe too much has happened already that didn't in his time.

Your place, is beneath my people. But all solids strive to be the dominate species in the galaxy. Many in the Gamma Quadrant have eventually come to understand and accept this. Others, like the Vorta and Jem'Hadar relish in the privilege. The Alpha Quadrant will come to understand in time. And those that do not, will no longer be a problem.
