Last time -- The AT on the Romulan shuttle learns through Subcommander Zinbeh that the target of the weapon - which is planetary scale - is Remus, not the Romulan Senate

The Subcommander now claims that stopping it is no longer their mission, but reveals that a Federation ship - an old Miranda, the USS Finland - will be used to drop the weapon

time to destroy a miranda class ship!

with a tiny shuttle

The Tal Shiar fleet rendezvoused with the Miranda and probably moved the weapon to it

Yes, plausible deniability is enough for the polite lie, but the point being that the polite lie being obviously a lie allows the Tal Shiar to project power and fear over the Senate.

Z> They did get something right - it is broadcasting a Federation transponder signal.

If we allow the Tal Shiar to do this, they'll use the terror of their weapon to competely change the balance of power within the empire.

What kind of weaponry do we have on the shuttle? we may be able to make use of some weakness in the Miranda ship

OK, I'll head down to the computer core.

::jumps in a Jeffries tube and starts shimmying::

I'll head to the engine room to see if i can stop it

ship> :: goes to warp, starting first on a course toward a corner of the Neutral Zone ::

at least them wanting it to be visible means that we maybe have more time.

ACP> :: has multiple redundant systems, all reacting with the speed of 24th century computers to commands being sent from 23rd century computers ::

::uses tricorder to directly interface with ACP, hacks with Romulan and Federation credentials and overrides::

ACP1> :: responds favorably to the hacking ::

::looks like the black wire is the one that can be cut, but double and triple checks it before taking action::

torpedo> :: activation mechanism is now permanently messed up ::
