Reply all "Repairs to Excalibur were prioritized by command staff due to an apparent lack of need for help from ship based engineers. I believe. Command will have to confirm their decision making process."

Ens Reynolds> ::Secretly snickering at how ticked off the corps engineers were.::

Val> "I saw a work detail pushing a anti-grav dolly full of plumbing equipment into his quarters."

Irene> Irene is organizing the students into groups to go take core samples with her science teams. "That should be the last of them, I think..."

ACTION> Before Will's transmission can go out, a new message arrives. It's from a Lt. Gorel on the surface. Introducing himself as the head of the engineering corps detachment and requesting a timeframe for when Excaliburs teams would arrive, he indicates he is excited to work with them.

Rex> Lifts his brows Interesting.

William's eye twitches "Who?"

Will saves his reply all to drafts before sending a reply to this person. "Who are you?"

Val> "Yeah. I didn't see what they were installing, but it's pretty heavy duty. The world's largest bathtub?"

Gorel> via text The head of the corps team on the surface? We’ve been waiting for you to connect with us, but know things can get busy. When we saw your science teams had beamed down, we were a little concerned.

:: She decided to observe the best she could ::

William rubs his face as he replies. "Our orders were shifted based on the requests given to us by a Lieutenant Commander Torag. As of right now no one is beaming down."

Ens Reynolds> Maybe that Torag fellow isn't the one in charge? What project does this guy need help with?

"I have no clue at the moment. Hold on." William sends a message detailing his earlier conversation with SCE.

Gorel> +Chocox+ This is Lt Gorel to Excalibur.

"Oh for [expletive deleted] sake. Reynolds, figure out where Stanton is, I'm going to need help." taps comm badge +Gorel+ "Excalibur Engineering here."

Ens Reynolds> Oooookay. ::Checking his padd, he located the commander.:: He's in his office, sir.

Gorel> +Cho+ I am seeing your messages, I have no idea who this person is. There's not a Torag assigned to our unit. Hell no one above the rank of ell-tee has been here since the start. We do have a Tellerite but she's been in the field all week working on demo of some old pumping facilities.

Val> "Message traffic is up between groups. Think they're having fun down there?"

Rex> Back to sitting very wrongly in the command chair and reading through some reports. Better them then me.

"This just keeps getting better. Reynolds, tell Stanton we need to figure out who this person is before I drop a photon torpedo on him." +Gorel+ "Well, that's...weird...everything was on the correct letter head, so to speak."

Gore> +Cho+ Indeed. We'd been waiting for Excalibur to check in for a few hours, thought it was weird you hadn't. I'd heard you were good engineers, prompt, curteous -- a bit unorthodox perhaps -- but you know what good engineering team isn't a little, original in thinking.

+Gorel+ "I think someone once called us criminal, but I digress. We didn't 'check in' so to speak because we already had our task. Which was a bit humiliating a request as you could imagine."

Val> "You know, you're gonna mess up Cap's butt-print sitting in his chair like that." As she turns back around to her console.

Rex> Shrugs Maybe he should sit in himself more.

Gorel> +Cho+ This is a bit, unusual yeah. I'll uh, send up what we're hoping to have you help with while we try to sort out this little mystery.

Ens Reynolds> ::He sent a message to Stanton requesting assistance.::

Val> "Come ooooon, you know command chairs are for XOs."

:: Reporting on what she sees ::

Cdr Stanton> +Will+ Stanton to Chocox. You needed something, Chief?

+Stanton+ "We've been tricked, we've been backstabbed, and we've been quite possibly, bamboozled."

ACTION> Will gets a series of project notes and supply requests from Gorel. They contain information on one of the primary parts of the project -- a reinfusion of the areas aquafier using treknology.

+Gorel+ "What would you like us to help you with?"

Cdr Stanton> +Will+ I need a bit more explanation than that. What can I help you with?

+Stanton+ "Starfleet Corps of Engineers is telling me that the lieutenant commander we were talking to doesn't exist. At least not here. They've sent me a new set of project notes and supply requests."

Irene> Is cataloguing water and soil samples from the contaminated area. "Hm hm hm..."

Cdr Stanton> +Will+ Interesting. Perhaps someone was trying to get free labor before. Send me the details, and I'll review.

ACTION> Irene's team, along with the help of the Xenexian university students are making excellent progress on their survey.

+Stanton+ "Aye sir." William forwards the project details to Commander Stanton.

Irene> She looks pleased. She's in her element, doing science stuff! And it's not in a desert or a freezer! "I'm impressed with your students. Looks like they know a lot about environmental science."

Cdr Stanton> ::Reviewing the project details.:: +Will+ Looks like it's on the level. And better than latrines. Lt. Gorel is in the register as a corps engineer assigned to the planet. I say you beam down to see how you can help.

+Stanton+ "Understood Commander. We'll be on our way down." +Gorel+ "We'll be down post haste Lieutenant." William turns to Reynolds. "New job for us."

Ens Reynolds> ::Raises eyebrows.:: So we're really going down? We need to get all the gear beamed down again.

"Then we better get to work quickly."

Gorel> +Cho+ Looking forward to it.

+Gorel+ "Just give us time to cargo transport everything."

+Excal+ "This is Doctor Ryssan. I was unable to view their medical facilities, but taking notes all the same."

Excal> +Ryssan+ Their medical facilities are located in the second quarter. Would you like us to send you the coordinates?

+Excal+ "That would be best, thank you."

Rex> Val To be honest, I like my job. Besides have you seen all the paperwork Stanton has?

ACTION> Doctor Ryssan receives a map of the central city with all of the major points of interest marked, including the medical facilities.

Ens Reynolds> ::Groans as he gets up to go fetch the manifest of everything they'd need to take down with them.::

"It's more fun than latrines and saunas Reynolds!" William joins him in getting the supplies.

Alright, we can pick up next week with engineering beaming down to hopefully be able to get to work. Maybe also find out the source of the original communiques. I, in no way, am saying that you're going to be transported to another deminsion or something more nefarious. Nope. No sir ree.
