USS Manticore - Mondays 10 ET - Command Staff: Captain McFly, Kansas Kenickie

= USS MANTICORE BRIEFING #1236, STARDATE 52309.11 = starfleet

= Manticore has been sent to Starbase 23 near the Romulan neutral zone to confirm a new weapon designed against the Changelings. Along the way, they received a distress call, the sender of which claims to be the son of Captain McFly and Commander Kenickie but DNA tests conclude that Erich is the real father. He does, however, bring warnings about the future. McFly decides to cautiously continue with the mission along with calling for fleet backup. Upon arrival to the station, an away team met with the woman leading the project, Dr Moira Taggert. She performed a weapons test on a compound approximating Changeling physiology. And then suddenly, Romulans! They planned to destroy the station, saying it had been taken over by Changelings. McFly was able to suspend their attack with the condition they root out any Changelings on board. So far, they haven't had much success. = starfleet

This could not of been done remotely...It had to of been done on the station.

I'm not certain yet if this was done on the deck itself or from the Station's Engineering COmputers..I need more time to work on this.

::Stares at waveforms, sines, sinuses, and sinusoidals, and his brain starts to wander far and wide::

+Faldek+ I'm... happy yet somehow not relieved. I know the Romulans are jerks but I can't believe they'd attack a Federation station on a whim. ::sighs::

These waveforms seem to have a Dominion signature to them. Seems to be from heavy fighting?

+Manticore+ We don't know enough about Changelings to make a failsafe system yet so they may still be here but I'm not sure how to find them if they are unless I start breaking regulations.

They all seem to be eminating the same signature.

+Faldek+ I'd like to keep that as a last resort. Keep thinking. I'll see if I can buy us some time.

Mopar> A new Long range transmitter fabrication should be able to be done on a Starship. Hence I am awaiting a replacement. Communications are everything on long the neutral zone.

:: after watching the agonizing slow status bar advance across the screen....the program completes :: And trace data fills her screen.

So here's what's going on, we're not going to fabricate a new communications array if the Romulans are just going to blow up the station. So as of now there will be no new equipment. What gave you the idea that we would be sending over new material until this was resolved? I know I did not make that promise.

Right. My team did a thorough and extensive test to root out any Dominion agency on board this station and returned with an all clear. My apologies to you and your comrads for coming out all this way for a false alarm. We at Starfleet appreciate your diligence in protecting us all from the Dominion threat and we hope you'll continue to work with us in the future regarding any attack by our mutual enemies. ::clasps his hands behind his back and offers a toothless smile::

Enough. I'm not surprised Starfleet is too inept at not finding its enemy in front of its face. Were it not for the Vulcans humans would have been conquered eons ago. I'm not waiting around any longer. Move aside or be destroyed along with the station.

McFly, There has to be somwthing else on that station they want,

+ Faldek + The overload was caused by commands issued from Main Engineering. This was not a suicidal Crewman overloading the system from the Communications deck...Whoever did this..it was from a console here in Main Engineering. But ...Ill need more time looking up access codes.

::observing his surroundings::
