= USS MANTICORE BRIEFING #1234, STARDATE 52308.28 = starfleet

= Manticore has been sent to Starbase 23 near the Romulan neutral zone to confirm a new weapon designed against the Changelings. Along the way, they received a distress call, the sender of which claims to be the son of Captain McFly and Commander Kenickie but DNA tests conclude that Erich is the real father. He does, however, bring warnings about the future. McFly decides to cautiously continue with the mission along with calling for fleet backup. Upon arrival to the station, an away team met with the woman leading the project, Dr Moira Taggert. She performed a weapons test on a compound aproximating Changeling physiology. And then suddenly, Romulans! = starfleet

ACTION> ONE OF THE ROMULANS SHIPS FIRES AT THE STATION. SHIELDS INSTANTLY RISE ON THE STATION

::Pauses, looks up from his tricorders, suddenly realizing something is amiss::

This is it. Let them destroy the station.

ACTION> RED ALERT GOES OFF ON THE STATION

::feels station shake, raises eyebrow::

:: reaches for the wall....:: Damn...

::looks back and forth between the two of them:: ...I have to go.

The shields are up on the station and most likely Manticore, we're not getting back any time soon.

ACTION> MANTICORE FLIES AROUND TO COVER THE STATION AND THE TWO WARBIRDS SPLIT UP AND MOVE AROUND THEM

::looks at KK; looks shaken:: I-I don't know. They get into a fight and are overwhelmed and Manticore crashes on a nearby planet.

+Faldek+ Copy that. We'll update as things change.

Aye sir. :: notes the red alert and checks her type 2 sidearm ::

:: Rushes to sickbay, cursing as she goes ::

::vacates the captain’s seat:: The two warbirds suddenly decloaked and fired on the station. We’ve managed to split them.

Bloody hell... ::enters the TL with Tyrel and Bren:: Operations.

One following us, one still on the station.

::enters a different TL:: Infirmary.

:: notes the Station personel scrambling around...much more lively than when they first arrived ::

::Looks at Faldek:: The Romulans must know about the weapon. So they are on the side of the Changelings? But why? Or they misunderstand and think the weapon will work on them?

:: proceeds to Deck three and notes engineering crew making repairs noting a force shield preventing space from venting air out...::

::sends a text message to the CC:: Nothing on long range yet. They may be moving cloaked.

::finds the weapons locker and loads up, phaser rifle with extra power cells and some photon and stun grenades. Tosses Bren a rifle and couple extra power cells::

ACTION> THE ROMULAN SHIP FIRES A BARRAGE OF WEAPONS AT MANTICORE DIRECTLY TARGETTING THEIR WEAPONS SYSTEMS. THE OTHER ROMULAN SHIP WHICH HAD ITS FRONT WEAPONS DISABLED HAS NOW REPOSITIONED ITSELF AND FIRES ITS AFT WEAPONS AT MANTICORE WHICH IS ALSO DIRECTED AT MANTICORES WEAPONS SYSTEMS. THE ATTACK ROCKS THE SHIP HARD AND MOST EVERYONE FLIES TO THE LEFT

Ok back to operations, that's where they would most likely board. ::heads back into the TL, nearly dragging Bren, but only metaphorically::

::hoists herself back up and back to her station::

We have tricorders, couldn't we use them to communicate? These ships should all be close enough...

:::Stands up, and Help Nate up:: We need to get you some place more secure

::Slides back into his chair, tapping away, checking systems ::

A tricorder can be used to jerry rig a communicator for an emergency beacon but only short range.

+ Faldek + Sir the entire Communications deck has been destroyed. Must of done it when the shields were not up. There is nothing I can do here....

:: Gets up and helps Violet :: You okay?

ACTION> THE FULLY FUNCTIONAL ROMULAN SHIP TURNS BACK TO THE STATION

As much as I like the idea, it's on the inside of the station and I'm not sure this starbase even has the power to run it at this juncture. (edited)

::thinks quickly:: What if...! What if, we investigated the station? Alright. Give us... give us two days. We will go on a strict manhunt for how many ever changelings are on board and destroy them. But the station remains in tact. No one has to die unnecessarily.
