BEGIN RECORDING

Assistant Medical Officer Victor Images Duty Log 0310.27

I have examined the results of a blood test. They seem to prove beyond the shadow of a doubt, that the man sitting in the Captain’s quarters is the real Captain Meve. But what is less obvious and more important to me is the fact that the Andorian has obviously been drugged. Traces of a chemical known as Anesthezine have been found in the Captain’s lungs. The only known use for this drug is to knock out a person quickly and effectively. We don’t even carry a proper supply on board due to it’s harmful side effects. Somebody wanted to keep the captain out of the way and somehow got him to inhale some of the stuff. However, the who and the why are not really my concern, just the what and the how. And now I know both. I have saved my findings and put a report into my out tray that will be sent to the Captain, Commander Ayers and Chief of security Lieutenant Commander Ethan Hawke. I’ve also left a copy for Dr. Jones for when he gets back from his conference.

Stopping for a moment I look at the office around me. “When ‘is’ Sheepy getting back?” I ask myself. The whole place seems to be falling apart without a chief medical officer’s presence. Staff being less prompt, protocol going down the drain and nobody, keeping their appointments.

I groan as I notice just how many people thought it was alright to skip their medical appointments. Messages have been sent to their quarters but as usual everyone thinks they are just peachy or are afraid of being prodded for ten minutes. This is unacceptable, and it always happens. They could have brought back the bubonic plague from that Cardassian ship or broken a rib for all I know. I requested that the away team be isolated but it’s a bit late for that now.

The strangest thing of all that has happened to me today was that the most affable crewmember I met on the job was actually the Captain. Of course I double checked that it was really him and low and behold it was. Maybe he’s just decided to be nice to his doctor…no it’s probably just the Anesthezine.

I’m sending a note to Gabral Zog to remind him to send me the first substantial data he recovers on the captain “goo” we scraped off the deck. Then after signing some documents I’m going back to my room to sleep the sleep of a man who’s had a frustrating day.
