Sky Harbor Aegis | 3 September 2021

= /\ = Aegis Mission Brief 9/3/21 = /\ =
11 August 2388 - Stardate 2388.224
TBS is 24 hours the time is 0700 hours (7:00 am) Aegis Local

Ambassador Drankum is walking through the station.

Science and Engineering are watching an unusual phenomenon.

It could interfere with the creation of a stable warp field.

A blue bubble surrounding the station is unevenly distributed.

It might cut us off from outside contact except subspace communication.

It could disrupt equipment that relies on sustained subspace fields.

If the bubble is only a few AU in radius, ships can come and go.

But if the bubble approaches a light-year or more in radius,

Ships would have no way of reaching Aegis.

mimipavilion: ::in medical::

Dacia Sandero: ::getting ready for her day::

Amanda Davis PhD: ::also in medical:::

Dacia Sandero: ::makes her way into medical::

Alexis McFarland: ::curled up in bed, asleep::

Scott Coleridge: ::on the CnC::

CdrBrown: ::on his way out of his quarters, coffee mug in hand::

Chirakis: :::CnC, in her office with the door open, thinking about a lot of things, especially the information sent to Scott::

CdrBrown: ::enters the TL:: CnC!

Amanda Davis PhD: ::walking around, checking patients::

Nijil tr'Korjata: :: steps into medical as he starts his rounds::

CdrBrown: ::exits the TL on to the CnC and heads directly for his station::

Nijil tr'Korjata: Doctor?

mimipavilion: ::steps out of her office:: Hi Nijil

Nijil tr'Korjata: I have a medical, but also engineering issue

CdrBrown: ::pulls up the latest report from the Deke Slayton::

Scott Coleridge: ::Brown:: Good morning

Chirakis: ::throws down her information from Command and leaves her office::::

mimipavilion: Ok follow me. What seems to be the issue?

CdrBrown: ::looks over at Coleridge:: Good Morning. anything useful I missed in the last few hours?

Dacia Sandero: ::checking things round sickbay as well::

Chirakis: :::very tired::: Morning everyone. Anything I should we aware of - other than donuts?

Scott Coleridge: I'm just looking at the overnight reports myself.

Nijil tr'Korjata: Did Dr. Sandero tell you of my mental visitor?

Scott Coleridge: The good news is that the phenomenon doesn't seem to be getting worse that fast.

CdrBrown: that's a plus.... ::throws the local star chart on the view screen::

Chirakis: ::nod, resting against her chair:::

mimipavilion: Yes, Muuni I believe.

CdrBrown: Itclearly isn't getting better, though.

Scott Coleridge: No, I've been thinking about that. ::Chirakis:: I'd like us to get more hands-on.

Chirakis: ::lifts a brow:: ..such as?

CdrBrown: ::intrigued as well::

Nijil tr'Korjata: Yes, very good. Well, is there a medical scanner that can pick up her imprint on me? The speech specifically.

Amanda Davis PhD: :::walking through medical, checking up on anyone who needs help - of which are very few:::

Tarisa: Miana> ::Sleeping. She gets twisted in her sheets.::

Scott Coleridge: I'd like to take Aegean on-site. We'll be able to supplement the Deke Slayton's scans but more importantly we can run direct tests.

Alexis McFarland: ::sleeps as well, curled up in bed::

Chirakis: :::pushing away from her chair::: Interesting.

Chirakis: So far nothing new has come up regarding the field?

Scott Coleridge: The latest data has revealed some interesting fluctuations we didn't notice before.

Scott Coleridge: So far nothing that would confirm or disprove my hypothesis that Aegis' submergence into subspace was the cause.

Chirakis: ::thinking:::

Chirakis: :::steps closer to him, almost whispering::: Command wants an answer... and they want it now. I have said nothing.

mimipavilion: I know that there's a scan that determines if there's a second brain wave pattern, but I'm not sure if there's a way to pick up speech.

Nijil tr'Korjata: Muuhi thinks there is, but she is not sure of your medical technology, or if the imprint she left in me contained that.

Chirakis: So.. how can we do this?

Nijil tr'Korjata: Sandero said she could feel a presence.

Scott Coleridge: Aegean has very sophisticated sensors specifically tuned to subspace bands because of its cloak.

Scott Coleridge: I'm thinking that we might be able to disrupt the phenomenon with a modified torpedo. It's just an idea. Once we get on site we can form a more specific plan.

mimipavilion: ::nods:: If Muuhi somehow linked herself, mentally like telepathically; to you, we could devise a way to make her more known.

Chirakis: :::thinking and listening, arms crossed::: A torpedo. ::still thinking::

CdrBrown: ::hears a mention of ordinance usage, his ears perk up::

Nijil tr'Korjata: I think she placed her memories inside, then some kind of personality matrix. Would explain my headaches.

Chirakis: Go ahead, Commander Brown.

Nijil tr'Korjata: :: rolls his eyes back a bit, :: She's explaining it in more detail,

Cdr Wyatt Cayne: :: In CnC ::

Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Sits on a bed ::

CdrBrown: just intrigued about the possibility of using a torpedo to fix things, or even lessen the impact of the phenomenon.... on a timing note, Aegean would need about 90 minutes to crew up and depart, and 4 hours to get to the leading edge, if the warp engines are pushed

mimipavilion: Hmmm.... ::looks at Nijil:: If we could extract the memories and personality matrix that she left in your brain, we could make a holographic version of her. Though you would have to create her representation.

Scott Coleridge: It is remarkable how many anomalies are fixed by blowing something up.

Scott Coleridge: Wormholes… temporal anomalies...  subspace flexures ::shrugs::

CdrBrown: Didn't the Enterprise under Picard try to blow up a warp wave?

Scott Coleridge: ::waves a hand dismissively:: The Enterprise was always blowing stuff up.

Chirakis: ::slight chuckle as she leans back against her chair::: I believe that whatever you want to test you should test.

Nijil tr'Korjata: No no, I don't want her gone. I-I…it's been a long road of recovery from my experience.

mimipavilion: Ok, was just a thought.

Nijil tr'Korjata: It's very Rihan when you think of it, the perfect sleeper agent.

mimipavilion: It is... even my late husband would have approved.

Nijil tr'Korjata: Neural stimulator? No, that's not it.

Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Gets really sad :: Oh... I guess he would have.

Amanda Davis PhD: ::not many in the medical area, so she hunts for Dacia:::

Amanda Davis PhD: ::quietly so as not to disturb::: Dacia? Coffee or tea?

Nijil tr'Korjata: That was weird. I mean we were saddened by his loss, but what a wave of sadness there.

Amanda Davis PhD: ::spots her:: And scones like my mother makes.

Nijil tr'Korjata: I would think she would appear as delta waves over most of my brain.

mimipavilion: ::looks at Nijil:: So you feel what she feels. Definitely telepathic in nature.

Chirakis: ::turns to Scott:: Proceed, Commander, however you need to.

Nijil tr'Korjata: I think she is projecting. If the memory imprint feels sad it makes me sadder.

Nijil tr'Korjata: I have not told Jylliene or Annisha yet.. Could tell D'Lynn though, he'd not tell anyone.

mimipavilion: ::thinks:: Delta waves ::grabs a tricorder and scans Nijil::

Nijil tr'Korjata: Maybe I can have her tell me a joke.

Nijil tr'Korjata: :: starts to laugh ::

Chirakis: ::watching Scott, wondering::::

mimipavilion: ::notes some oddities on the scan::

Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Shakes his head :: I'll have her recite some medical something while I remain silent.

Scott Coleridge: ::Chirakis:: Thank you, sir.

Scott Coleridge: Ma'am

mimipavilion: ::Nijil:: I take it Muuhi is talking to you.

Dacia Sandero: I'll have some tea, thanks..

mimipavilion: ::still scanning::

Amanda Davis PhD: Wonderful.

Nijil tr'Korjata: She does not shut up. :: frowns :: We know she did.

Chirakis: Take whomever you need and whatever you need. ::looks around to the others::

Nijil tr'Korjata: :: frowns again, looking upset :: Sorry.

Dacia Sandero: Thank you.. ::smiles::

mimipavilion: ::smirks:: Some women love to talk. Muuhi if you would like to look at my scans of Nijil you can look.

Nijil tr'Korjata: Suppose Dr. Davis would like to know as well.

Amanda Davis PhD: Come into my office... they're almost done. And the tea is ready. :::stops and looks back:: Or would you rather have coffee?

Scott Coleridge: ::goes to ops and asks them to contact each department for away team members::

Chirakis: OPS> Aye, Commander. On it.

Dacia Sandero: Thanks. Some tea would be nice, thanks. I only really drink coffee if we're out of tea

Nijil tr'Korjata: :: nods and looks :: Here is her telling the joke, as there was increased activity in the Broca area.

Alexis McFarland: ::yawns and opens her eyes, lays in bed::

Amanda Davis PhD: Oh no. There's always tea. :::sets down the tea cups and waits for the tea to get to the right temperature:::

Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Points :: The punchline, then me laughing. :: looks in the air :: No I will not tell the doctor a dirty Yith joke.

9:52 pm] Dacia Sandero: That's always a good thing.

Chirakis: OPS> Sir, how many do you need?

Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Points again :: Her.  She's counting in Yith to 100...

Nijil tr'Korjata: Oh, perhaps a neural monitor linked up to a universal translator module

Scott Coleridge: ::Ops:: At least one senior officer from each department, and then a minimal complement of crew to support us.

Chirakis: OPS> :::hands Scott a list:: And.. if you don't mind, sir... Commander Brown has been one of the best senior officers. Aye, sir. ::hands him a PADD with a list:::

Nijil tr'Korjata: Is this a wild idea doctor?

CdrBrown: ::looks at Scott:: I'm not sure who has been lying to OPS about me...

mimipavilion: ::looks at Nijil:: Actually it's not.

Nijil tr'Korjata: She said this was more difficult, not a full copy.

Scott Coleridge: ::Brown:: We can worry about the whisper campaign against you later. I do need an XO for this mission.

mimipavilion: What her implanting her memories into your neural pathways.

Chirakis: OPS> ::continues working, trying not to smirk:::

CdrBrown: ::smirks:: aye. I'll go and get her warmed up. T-90

Chirakis: Thank you

Chirakis: Very interesting...

Chirakis: TBS will be 5 hours. In that time the Aegean will be near its destination.

Chirakis: Anything more to say, Commander?

Scott Coleridge: Anyone who wants to be on the away mission can join or send an NPC representative from your department.

Chirakis: Very well. Anything else?

Chirakis: Questions? Anyone?

CdrBrown: none here

Chirakis: Anything else?

Chirakis: Crew dismissed. Be well. Be Safe. Don’t forget your towel.
