Nijil tr'Korjata: :: arrives at engineering ::

Alexis McFarland: ::eating breakfast::

Dacia Sandero: ::in sickbay::

Chirakis: ::to Jylliene:: Call commanding officers to CnC for a meeting.

Jylliene: Yes ma'am.

mimipavilion: ::in medical::

Tae'Lynn Dran: ::working at a science station::

Chirakis: ::flips through her padd in case she has forgotten something::

Jylliene: +commanding officers coms+ Ops to all commanding officers. Report to the CnC for a meeting.

Nijil tr'Korjata: :: rolleyes, looks at Muuhi ::

mimipavilion: ::hears the comm and heads up to the CnC for the meeting::

Jylliene: ::prepares to hand Ops over to attend the meeting::

Scott Coleridge: ::in CnC::

Amanda Davis PhD: ::remains in medical, making rounds:::

Nijil tr'Korjata: :: goes to the meeting ::

Tarisa: ::Arrives at CnC::

Dacia Sandero: ::checking the patients::

Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Arrives::

mimipavilion: ::also arrives in CnC and goes to the conference room::

Scott Coleridge: Everyone here?

Jylliene: ::goes to the conference room::

Alexis McFarland: ::enjoying a Blubby Wrap for breakfast::

Chirakis: ::entering the conference room and taking a seat as she flips through information:::

mimipavilion: ::takes a seat::

Tarisa: ::Sits.::

Scott Coleridge: ::triggers a cool animation on the display to help summarize the situation:: As most of you are aware, we've been experiencing an unusual new phenomenon. It's interfering with the creation of stable warp fields in the vicinity of Aegis.

Scott Coleridge: So far this has only disrupted shipping traffic. The effect has been highly localized. We've been trying to probe it with sensors, and science vessels are en route for a more detailed investigation.

Chirakis: ::relaxing in the chair, listening:::

Scott Coleridge: Our primary concern is that the phenomenon might encroach on the immediate volume around Aegis. If it grows too large it would effectively cut us off from any outside contact other than subspace communication.

Scott Coleridge: Commander Tarisa, can you update us on the latest findings and any hypotheses you have so far?

mimipavilion: ::listening::

Tarisa: Our findings are very slim at the moment, and I wish to not make a hypothesis until we can get more insight. At the moment we do not even know if this event is caused naturally or artificial.

Amanda Davis PhD: :::crossing the hall:: Dacia, the Lieutenants who are in the trauma unit... I assume they are cared for? ::looks up to take notes:::

Scott Coleridge: ::Tarisa:: Other than the warp field suppression, is there any indication of other danger? Radiation?

Tarisa: ::Shakes head.:: No indications so far.

Scott Coleridge: Good. I would hate to have to evacuate the station so soon after we just got moved back in.

Amanda Davis PhD: ::realizing that Dacia is very busy, she moves on:::

Dacia Sandero: Yes, they have been. They seem to be doing well now.. they are resting.

Dacia Sandero: Well, well enough.

Scott Coleridge: If this continues for much longer, we may need to prepare for supply delays.

Scott Coleridge: ::Nijil:: Make sure that the industrial replicators are all online in case there's a corresponding increase in load.

mimipavilion: ::doesn't like the sound of 'supply delays'::

Nijil tr'Korjata: :: nods : sure

Amanda Davis PhD: Oh, good.

Scott Coleridge: So far the phenomenon isn't evenly distributed around Aegis, so some vessels are getting through fine. But we have no guarantee that will last.

Scott Coleridge: ::Tarisa:: Other than the impending science vessel, are there any other resources you need?

Tarisa: I was waiting on the logs from the freighter that first encountered it. Otherwise, anything else will be forwarded to you on a list.

Chirakis: ::knowing that she is no scientist, she listens and takes notes::

Scott Coleridge: Any questions?

Chirakis: Yes, Commander.

Scott Coleridge: Yes, Captain?

Chirakis: ::leaning forward:: Explain what might happen if the phenomena change and Aegis is surrounded by.... whatever.

Nijil tr'Korjata: Computer core issues.

Scott Coleridge: ::shifts the view on the display so that a blue bubble surrounds Aegis::

mimipavilion: ::looks at display::

Scott Coleridge: As Nijil says, depending on the intensity of the phenomenon, it could disrupt equipment that relies on sustained subspace fields like the FTL processors in the computer systems. Subspace comms should be unaffected because long-range communications happens through a different effect.

Scott Coleridge: If the bubble is only a few AU in radius, it is an inconvenience. Ships can still approach and depart on impulse.

Chirakis: :::thinking.. or at least trying to:::

Scott Coleridge: But if the bubble approaches a light-year or more in radius, it would mean ships would have no way of reaching Aegis. Their warp field would collapse as they approach, but they would be too far away to reach us on impulse in any practical period of time.

Scott Coleridge: Remember that some of this is speculation, since we don't have a full comprehension of what the effect is doing.

Chirakis: ...and those in Aegis would be left inside the bubble... if possible?

Scott Coleridge: Yes. But right now we aren't in any immediate danger of that happening. We'd have plenty of time to evacuate.

Chirakis: Understood....

Chirakis: Anything else?

Amanda Davis PhD: ::continuing rounds:::

Scott Coleridge: Nothing from me. Any other questions?

Chirakis: :::looks around:::

Nijil tr'Korjata: :: looks at his 'friend' ::

Chirakis: Very well... ::Nods as she stands::

Scott Coleridge: Seeing no other questions... meeting dismissed.

Chirakis: Keep Commander Coleridge informed.

Chirakis: ...which I am sure he will.

Dacia Sandero: ::checks on the security officer::

Dacia Sandero: ::writes some notes in her PADD, them moves back to her office::

Chirakis: Commander Coleridge... a moment please.

mimipavilion: ::nods, gets up and leaves::

Scott Coleridge: ::waits::

Nijil tr'Korjata: +Davis+ I need to speak to you.

Chirakis: Commander, this problem is all yours. If there is anything I can do, let me know. Other than that, you are in command.

Scott Coleridge: I see.

Chirakis: If nothing else, you are dismissed, but always at your service.

Chirakis: :::exits the door:::

Chirakis: :::slow walk around CnC, then leans against the window to consider our possible problem:::

mimipavilion: ::arrives back in medical::

Nijil tr'Korjata: +Davis+ doctor?

Chirakis: =/\==/\=PAUSE SIM=/\==/\=

Chirakis: =/\==/\=PAUSE SIM=/\==/\=

Chirakis: Stand by.

Chirakis: Okay... TBS will be 6 hours, which is 4pm the same day.

Chirakis: Comments? Questions?

Chirakis: Seeing none..

Chirakis: Crew dismissed. Be well. Be Safe. Don’t forget your towel.
