Sky Harbor Aegis | 11 December 2020

 = /\ = Aegis Mission Brief 12/11/20 = /\ =
= /\ = 24 June 2388 - Stardate 2388.175 = /\ =
TBS is 20 hours - the time is 10:00 hours (10:00 am) Aegis Local.

Ships USS Rodman, Chi Song, and Agincourt are berthed for repairs.
Medical is treating their personnel for malnutrition.
Energy siphoned from the ships could have been taken by cloaked vessels and/or to test weapons..
Cdr Coleridge & Company will board and examine the ships.
Science continues to examine plants that have appeared in various areas of the station.
The children crept onto deck 188 to see the "ticking" flowers.
Bad choice.
Our nemesis Ragor Tal might be the driving force behind the illness, flowers, and nebular mist.

mimipavilion: ::in medical, looking at files of the crews debating on starting to release them::
Scott Coleridge: ::at the airlock of the Chi Song along with the rest of the away team::
Amanda Davis PhD: :::checking on her patients:::
Alexis McFarland: ::with Miana and Annisha::
Sierra Robinson: :: suited up and ready to go with her tool kit ::
Jylliene: ::keeping an eye on data from the recovered vessels::
Scott Coleridge: ((Anyone else who would like to join the away team may participate as themselves or an NPC))
Scott Coleridge: ::finishes checking seals:: Everyone ready?
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::doing paperwork on the CnC::
Sierra Robinson: :: inspects her bio hazard suit one last time :: Ready Commander.
Chirakis: :::standing next to Jylliene, paying no attention to most of those in CnC:::
Jylliene: ::has the ships' data on screen::
Scott Coleridge: Ok. We've restored main power to all systems through an umbilical. There's no obvious sign of damage, but we've held off restarting the warp core until we complete the investigation in case restarting the internal power destroys any evidence we've missed.
Scott Coleridge: We should have access to all systems, but so far no logs have revealed anything useful other than the fact of the power drain.
Chirakis: :::studies the screen as XO begins his investigation:::
Scott Coleridge: We're looking for anything unusual the first team might have missed, or anything that might have become apparent since then.
Sierra Robinson: Nature abhors perfect energy transfers...we should find something.
Tarisa: Miana> ::Holds up her PADD for Alexis and Annisha to see. It was info on their holosuite game.:: New quests arrived!
Alexis McFarland: ::looks at Miana's PADD::: Ooh nice! Those sound fun.
Annisha: Took them long enough.
Amanda Davis PhD: ::sits down to listen to one of her patients who just wants to talk:::
mimipavilion: ::goes over to Dacia and Amanda:: So what are your opinions on starting to release some of our guests?
Scott Coleridge: Let’s go. ::grabs his @ and steps into the airlock::
Tarisa: Miana> We should go!
mimipavilion: ::notices Amanda is busy at the moment::
Amanda Davis PhD: :::turns to Mimi::: Well, Lt Grader seems to be ready for release. He's quite the talker.
Alexis McFarland: ::smiles:: Yeah, we should. Yeah, really... ::to Annisha::
Scott Coleridge: @::cycles the airlock::
mimipavilion: ::smiles:: That's good to hear.
Sierra Robinson: @ :: follows Commander Coleridge :: Have the ship's engineers revealed anything else since our first look sir?
Tarisa: @ ::Quietly joined the others.::
Amanda Davis PhD: Oh, definitely. :::slight turn to Lt Grader::: Eager to get out of that gown?
Amanda Davis PhD: Grader> Oh, yes ma'am.
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::glancing at the away team monitors:: If they see so much as a stray leaf when they open those doors, they should just close it and walk away.
Cdr Wyatt Cayne: :: Working ::
Scott Coleridge: @::Sierra:: They are as puzzled as we are. All 3 chief engineers reports are consistent. ::steps into the Chi Song:: The ships entered the "nebula," and gradually they started to experience a power drain. By the time they realized how debilitating it was, there was no way to counteract it.
Jylliene: ::nods, listening to Dran::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: taking deep breaths ::
Scott Coleridge: @::walking down the corridor:: Robinson, where do you think we should start?
mimipavilion: ::looks at her PADD and marks Lt. Grader ready for release:: Alright Lt, we'll get you out of here asap.
Annisha: Is it a bunch of Bolians working on it?
Alexis McFarland: I think so, it was outsourced over to them a while ago.
Annisha: Explains the bald characters.
Sierra Robinson: @ I was wondering about that myself. There was something I thought of over my last slice of pizza.....these shuttles should have a shuttlecraft aboard right?
Alexis McFarland: ::Drinking a carton of orange juice, giggles::
Chirakis: ::without turning::: Lt Dran, what is your diagnosis of these.... feathered flowers that cling to just about everything?
Sierra Robinson: Chubbs> :: facing a corner....in his family quarters....for sneaking candy into his room...and making a mess and is grounded ::
Amanda Davis PhD: Grader> Thank you, Doctor.
Scott Coleridge: @ Aye, the Chi Song has 4 Type-9 shuttles.
mimipavilion: ::smiles:: no problem
Tarisa: Miana> hehe ::Also finishes her juice.:: Lets go questing!
Amanda Davis PhD: I'm sure you don't need help, Lieutenant. I'll leave you here to put on a fresh uniform. Deal?
Tae'Lynn Dran: While they have some unusual characteristics they seem mostly harmless.
Sierra Robinson: @ Yeah...well I wanted to see if their power systems were completely drained as well. They technically are independent little critters inside the Shuttlebay.
Alexis McFarland: Mm-mm. ::smiles:: Let's go. ::tosses her empty juice carton into a garbage bin::
Chirakis: Hm... harmless. And we're sure of that?
Scott Coleridge: @ Good idea. Let’s head to the shuttlebay then.
Sierra Robinson: @ Should just take a quick scan of the cores...won't take but a couple of minutes.
Jylliene: *mostly* harmless.
Amanda Davis PhD: Grader> Deal.
Tae'Lynn Dran: Not at all. But until something triggers a different response than what we've seen so far it is a fair guess.
Scott Coleridge: @ I’ve never worked aboard an Oberth class myself, seems so cramped compared to Aegis.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Looking through records of strange happenings within nebulas ::
Chirakis: ::turns to Dran::: Explain unusual characteristics.
Tarisa: Miana> Yay!
Alexis McFarland: ::smiles and heads to the holosuites::
Tae'Lynn Dran: Well, most foliage isn't as touchy feely as these.
Sierra Robinson: @ These guys are sardines aren't they..
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Sees Robinson's locator 'dot' on the station status display ::
Chirakis: :::considers that:::
Tae'Lynn Dran: They are well adapted to artificial environments.
mimipavilion: ::shows Amanda a list of names who could be released::
Annisha: :: Goes with Miana and Alexis ::
Dacia Sandero: ::checking the other patients in the med bay:: I don't think it'll be long before you're all released I think.
Scott Coleridge: @ Mind, I was aboard a Defiant class for 4 weeks during Academy training. Now that was a sardine situation. I shared a cabin with a Bolian.
Chirakis: Is there any possibility that they are sentient?
Scott Coleridge: @::enters the shuttlebay, where one of the shuttles rests on the pad::
Amanda Davis PhD: ::takes the list::: I'm sure they'll be excited to go.
Sierra Robinson: @ :: follows Coleridge to the cramped shuttlebay :: Oh wow...I wish I had the chance to go on a cadet cruise like that. Hostilities prevented mine.
Tae'Lynn Dran: Not in any currently defined ways.
Alexis McFarland: ::heads to the holosuites and books a room, They are led to an empty holo-suite and the program is loaded::
mimipavilion: ::nods:: I'm sure they will be.
Amanda Davis PhD: ::flips through them and smiles at the thought:::
Scott Coleridge: @ I’ll check the shuttlebay systems. Tarisa and Robinson, check out the shuttle itself.
Chirakis: What about.... undefined ways?
Chirakis: Allow me to clarify...
Scott Coleridge: @::Heads for the shuttlebay control console at the side of the shuttlebay::
Tarisa: @ ::Nods.:: Of course. :;Walks over to the shuttle.::
Sierra Robinson: @ :: approaches the four shuttle pods and looks to Tarisa :: The idea is...did the nebula drain a craft's systems when not physically connected to the Oberth's Power grid.
Alexis McFarland: ::Changes into her medieval knight armour and climbs atop her thoroughbred after she starts the program::
Tarisa: Miana> ::Changes into her updated red mage outfit, since they have leveled up.::
Sierra Robinson: @ We have to find this out....and frankly if it did drain these guys’ power cells.. I am going to be seriously scratching my head.
Tarisa: @ It would depend on if the shuttle was exposed to this mysterious mist or not.
Alexis McFarland: Where were we again? We just slew one of the dragons guarding the eastern realm right?
Sierra Robinson: @ uhmm if I could...:: notes her suit ::
Chirakis: Is there any possibility that the creeping flowers are looking for an area to take over and settle down?
Scott Coleridge: @ According to logs, that shuttle was powered down while they were in the nebula, for what it's worth.
Tae'Lynn Dran: That would be natural for any lifeform.
Sierra Robinson: @ Okay...so they did not use the shuttles... Good to know. Now are their batteries drained...
Dacia Sandero: ::looking at some reports on the crewmembers' overall health as well as the names of those due for release soon::
Tarisa: Miana> ::Nods under her feathered red hat.:: Yes. According to the update, there is a new tower near there.
Scott Coleridge: @::continues to read the shuttlebay maintenance log, accesses shuttlebay power usage curves::
Sierra Robinson: @ :: enters one of the empty shuttles and begins taking readings of the shuttles batteries and fusion reactors ::
Amanda Davis PhD: ::Helping some of the patients put on their uniforms::
Alexis McFarland: ::looks at Miana's map:: Okay, within a days' travel by horseback.
Chirakis: :::slow nod:::
Annisha: New tower? Did they just build it?
Sierra Robinson: @ Okay looks good..Tarisa...I'm going to power up the craft.
Tarisa: @ ::Nods.::
Alexis McFarland: Yeah, it's one of the new updates.
Sierra Robinson: @ :: taps the LCARS console and glides her suited hand across the panel ::
Chirakis: ::Dran::: Carry on.
Scott Coleridge: @ACTION> The shuttle comes alive under its own power.
Sierra Robinson: :: Scans ::
Jylliene: Shuttle power up.
Scott Coleridge: @::turns around as he hears the thrum of the shuttle's engines shifting from cold to standby:: Whoa.
Sierra Robinson: @ Okay... things look good.
Tarisa: @ ::Looks around.:: I would say the shuttle was unaffected.
Jylliene: ::watching data coming in::
Tarisa: Miana> ::Summons her ostrich like mount.::
Sierra Robinson: @ Okay great to know... Sir...going to quickly check the data banks then shut her off...
Alexis McFarland: I hope we can make it there by sundown. Well, I guess we can stay at a tavern for the night if it gets too dark.
Chirakis: :::still uneasy regarding the Oberth class ships:::
Tarisa: Miana> :;Pets the bird as it makes a kweh sound, then she gets up into the saddle.::
Scott Coleridge: @::approaches the entrance of the shuttle:: Good guess, Robinson.
Tae'Lynn Dran: I would recommend the plants be trimmed back. It would be best to limit their growth towards any systems and we may learn more by it's reaction, if any.
Sierra Robinson: @ Tarisa can you check the console for any data files? It is a long shot, I know.
Dacia Sandero: ::settles into the saddle of her horse::
Alexis McFarland: ::Settles into the saddle of her horse::
Tarisa: @ ::Nods as she sits at a console, bringing up files.::
mimipavilion: ::helping one of the patients being released into their uniform::
Chirakis: :::nod to Dran:: Agreed. Inform your personnel to follow your directions.
Sierra Robinson: @ sometimes repair crews forget to delete stuff.... Just looking for the needle in the haystack.
Tae'Lynn Dran: Yes Captain.
Chirakis: ...and Lieutenant? Take something that can protect you in case the plants decide to... attack you.
Dacia Sandero: ::has a sip of tea as she goes over some medical reports and stuff::
Jylliene: (Med: temp quarters should have been assigned to the ships' crew, so you'll be able to direct them to quarters as they're released)
Scott Coleridge: @ Hmm. ::scans the shuttle hull::
Tarisa: @ ::Begins her search.::
Scott Coleridge: @ Interesting, I thought so.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Snaps to as he wakes from his daydream ::
Scott Coleridge: @ There's a residual electrostatic charge on the shuttle's hull.
Alexis McFarland: ::speed towards the tower, urging her horse to go faster as they travel through the valley::
Tarisa: Miana> ::Her bird keeps up pace.::
Sierra Robinson: @ Electrostatic charge....hmm... but the shuttle....did not leave the bay during the mission according to the logs...
Chirakis: ::turns aside to whisper and answer to d’Ka:: I know, Kh’éile. I'm listening and I understand.
Sierra Robinson: @ My next idea was deflector control.. sir....Plus Tarisa , all those science sensors...right up your alley so to speak.
Scott Coleridge: @ Right. So that means whatever affected the Chi Song's power systems created an electric charge in the air molecules throughout the ship... enough ionization at least to leave a signature on a large enough metallic object like a shuttle.
Scott Coleridge: @::Robinson:: Makes sense to me. ::Tarisa:: Anything useful in the logs?
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::marking areas on a station diagram to remove plants::
Tarisa: @ ::Shakes head.:: Not yet, but I will download them in case we miss something. ::Begins file transfer.::
Amanda Davis PhD: :::helping the rest of the crew... if they need to, that is.::::
Alexis McFarland: ::reading the file notes of the new content as she travels::
Sierra Robinson: @ I was thinking Tarisa...if the deflector dish, could....have been a charge accumulation area. as well...
Scott Coleridge: @::heads for the exit:: Next up, deflector control! ::starts walking in one direction, abruptly turns around:: Uh, this way.
Sierra Robinson: @ :: follows allowing Tarisa to go first ::
Tarisa: @ :;Follows.:: The Bussard collectors would also be a possible collection point. Though it would be hard to tell from inside the ship...
Chirakis: D'ka> {{Take care, Kh’éile. He is working his way through}}
Sierra Robinson: @ right....we can make that stop number three if time allows...:: follows the others ::
Annisha: What does the release notes say about this adventure?
Scott Coleridge: @::enters deflector control, which is a cramped room with just enough space for 3 suited people::
Alexis McFarland: It should take about a day or two to finish in intermediate difficulty. We can learn new skills as well as get new melee weapons in the shop.
Scott Coleridge: @ Oberth class has an overpowered deflector for its size, to deal with possible hazards while performing scientific missions. The Chi Song's engineer did note that she and her crew tried to recalibrate the deflector to boost shields against the power drain.
Alexis McFarland: I really like the look of the new battle axe
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Is zoning out at the main console, the noises around him fading away as he watched the investigation data come in along with the reading of his own scans ::
Tarisa: @ ::Nods as she listens.::
Scott Coleridge: @ It had no effect, positive or negative. As far as the nebula was concerned, shields or no shields was the same.
Amanda Davis PhD: :::straightens a uniform and pins on the uniform insignia:::
Tarisa: Miana> I need a new rapier. ::grins.::
Alexis McFarland: ::they across a very scenic valley and head some hills where the tower can now be seen in the far off distance::
Sierra Robinson: @ :: listens :: They were pouring more power into that deflector, but were getting no benefit...
Alexis McFarland: Hehehe. Though, I need to build up my skills wielding axes. I usually stick to bows and arrows and the broadsword.
Chirakis: ::turns to Jyl::: Take a break, Commander. I'll take over so you can relax for a while. :::and so can she:::
Scott Coleridge: @ True. Maybe that can reveal something though.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: under his breath :: Damn Muuhi, what's going on with these memories?
Annisha: That spire is sure tall. Like that thing at my grandparents place.
mimipavilion: ::Dacia:: I'm going to the CnC for a while.
Amanda Davis PhD: ::checks the insignia ::: Perfect, Commander.
Amanda Davis PhD: Cdr Dieri> Thanks for the help, doc. I owe you one.
Sierra Robinson: @ my guess is this part of the ship will be highly charged. Just because so much power was being shunted through here.
Alexis McFarland: Ooh yeah, I remember that
Amanda Davis PhD: ::Dieri:: And I'll count on that.
Jylliene: Thank you, ma'am. ::heads for the TL::
Chirakis: ::::flipping through information and passing some to other areas:::
Sierra Robinson: @ :: arrives at Deflector control room and looks inside.....::
Jylliene: ::decides to take a quick visit to the arboretum::
Dacia Sandero: ::nods:: All right.
mimipavilion: ::nods and exits medical to the CnC via the tl::

Chirakis: Thank you
Chirakis: Very well done, crew. It's not often that the crew works so well together.
Chirakis: TBS will be ZERO.
Chirakis: We'll carry on next week.
Chirakis: And next week is the last sim before next year - since the next week will be Christmas.
Sierra Robinson: oh my
Chirakis: Comments for the crew, Commander?
Dacia Sandero: ahh yes. Already.
Chirakis: Yes, very soon.
Scott Coleridge: Nope
Chirakis: Comments or questions from the crew?
Nijil tr'Korjata: none here
Chirakis: Seeing none...
Chirakis: Crew dismissed. Be well. Be Safe. Don’t forget your towel.
