Cdr Miranda Hawthorne

USS Excalibur Sim Log - 11.29.20

MSSION BRIEF: Having concluded their diplomatic mission and recovered their away team from their mission to the neutral zone, Excalibur is en route to Starbase 37 Tango for a short layover and "refill" before they are to embark on a patrol of the Agape sector along the neutral zone. Sparsely populated the Agape sector is of strategic importance due to the presence of a secret Federation long-range listening post.  TBS has been several days and we should be nearing Starbase 37 Tango.

William Chocox: ::is at the Bridge Engineering station, monitoring the ship's systems::

Indaura Ryssan: :: Reading something in her office ::

Irene Mincine: :: Irene is writing up reports on the resonating crystals down in her science lab. ::

Cptn Swain: ::Enters the bridge clean shaven and with a haircut, drinking tea::

William Chocox: ::looks up:: Intruder alert?

Maryse Dubois: ::In her office for the moment, finishing up a report.::

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::Snorts at Will's comment from his chair.::

Irene Mincine: :: Val, at helm, tries to hide a laugh. ::

Cptn Swain: ::Smirks:: The Bancroft has also returned to starbase, so I thought Arden would enjoy a smooth shave.

William Chocox: Aaaah, I see.

Cptn Swain: ::Takes his seat:: How long before we arrive at 37 Tango?

Irene Mincine: Val> :: Looks down at her console. :: "ETA is 3 hours at warp 6, Cap."

Indaura Ryssan: :: Looking at her list of messages ::

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: Cdr Jalen Stanton> Not soon enough...

Irene Mincine: :: Irene transmits her report, along with a recording of the resonance in the cavern, to Commander Stanton. She happily sits down in a padded chair and reviews the recording for herself once again. ::

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::Glances at his terminal as it bleeps an incoming report and swipes it to his padd to review. Quirks an eyebrow at the recording, pressing one finger behind his ear.:: Interesting...

William Chocox: What are you listening to sir?

Cptn Swain: ::Jalen:: We won't be at Tango long. Also would like to have the wish list ready as well.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: Cdr Jalen Stanton> Science sent me a recording of those crystals in the cavern. Quite the buzz, isn't it.

Cptn Swain: ::Jalen:: Make sure the crew knows that it won't be a long stop.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::Nods to Swain.:: Aye, sir.

Cptn Swain: ::Glances over:: Shame I missed out.

Indaura Ryssan: (grr)

Irene Mincine: +Stanton+ "Ensign Mincine to Commander Stanton. Just confirming you received the report as ordered." :: She was being quite formal. ::

Indaura Ryssan: :: Taking her reading on her padd, heads out of her office ::

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: Cdr Jalen Stanton> +Mincine+ I did, Ensign. I'll be sure to let you know if I have any questions. Thank you for the recording.

Cptn Swain: ::Finishes his tea:: I meant to tell you Will, good job on the away team. Commander Rex's report was very complimentary of your work.

Irene Mincine: Val> +Stanton+ "Of course, Commander." :: A pause. :: "I don't suppose I'm un-grounded from starbases, sir?"

Indaura Ryssan: :: Enters sickbay ::

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::Considers.:: +Mincine+ Our trip to the Starbase is going to be very brief. I'll consider this your probationary period.

Cptn Swain: ::Glances over to Stanton::

Irene Mincine: :: Irene lets out a sigh of relief. :: +Stanton+ "Thank you, commander. I will not disappoint."

Cptn Swain: ::takes a drink of tea::

William Chocox: ::becomes very interested in his console:: Thank you sir.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: Cdr Jalen Stanton> We'll see... ::Muses to himself.::

Cptn Swain: ::Smirks at Will, pleased with himself::

Irene Mincine: +Stanton+ :: Another pause. :: "I... Mincine out."

William Chocox: Also, are we still giving Mincine a hard time? I think she learned her lesson.

Cptn Swain: Having been something of a character myself at that age, I think she can handle it.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: Cdr Jalen Stanton> ::He threw Will a glance.:: Did she? She's yet to prove that, but we'll see.

William Chocox: She didn't sell anything while we were gone.

Cptn Swain: I once got into a bar fight with the uh--assistant--of a planetary governor we were negotiation with.

Irene Mincine: Val> :: To Will. :: "Weren't you all on an uninhabited planet?"

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: Cdr Jalen Stanton> To scientists that weren't looking to buy anything? ::Snorts. Glancing at Swain, he pursed his lips.:: You aren't helping, you know.

Cptn Swain: The XO didn't let me out of his sight for a solid month.

William Chocox: ::to Val:: Seemed like a bunch of people hanging around for an uninhabited planet. And I think a bar fight is a bit different than someone misreading a contract.

Cptn Swain: ::Jalen:: I am just saying that with proper supervision, discipline, and mentoring, Ensign Micine might even become a... Ca... senior officer.

Irene Mincine: Val> "I bet you were real fun as a junior officer, captain."

William Chocox: Oh Lord, I might need to salute her then.

Cptn Swain: ::Smirks, lets their imagination take over::

Cptn Swain: (( TWO MINUTE WARNING ))

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: Cdr Jalen Stanton> Oh, I would fully agree with you, sir, which is why I'm giving her probation to prove that she's worth spending the time to develop.

Cptn Swain: ::Nods in approval::

William Chocox: ::to Val:: From his stories it certainly seems like it.
