USS Excalibur Sim Log - 11.01.20

MISSION BRIEF: Excalibur's "rescue team" -- now in need of rescue of their own -- have devised a plan to use crystals from the planet's cave system to re-energize their yachts systems. Will it work, or will they become residents of the cold, foggy planet?

William Chocox: ::is totally not very far away from where the experiment has been set up::

Irene Mincine: :: Irene and Valdar are at a hotwired monitoring station across the room. ::

Cptn Swain: Rex> ::drinking coffee::

Cptn Swain: Rex> ::Will:: I heard you have a colorful nickname among the senior staff.

William Chocox: ::Rex:: Remind me to sue the Captain for Slander and Libel when we get back to civilization.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: Ens Reynolds> ::He threw Rex a glance and then a look at Will, but wisely kept his trap shut.::

Irene Mincine: "Let's wait to argue until we get this experiment going so we know if we *will* get back." :: Irene, on the other hand, is no stranger to opening her mouth. ::

Cptn Swain: Rex> He wasn't the one who told me. ::smirks::

Cptn Swain: Rex> I still can't believe he let me on his ship.

William Chocox: Very well then. ::Loudly:: Fire in the hole! Fire in the hole! Fire in the hole! ::activates whatever it is he put together with technobabble::

Cptn Swain: << Everyone give me a number 1-20 >>

William Chocox: ((8))

Irene Mincine: (( 5 ))

Indaura Ryssan: (17)

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: (18)

Maryse Dubois: ((6))

Maryse Dubois: :;Watching from a distance.::

Cptn Swain: ACTION> It works! It doesn't blow up!

William Chocox: ::raises hands in triumph:: WHOO! ::quickly composes himself:: Knew it would work.

Cptn Swain: Rex> ::Silently hands Irene a strip of latinum::

Irene Mincine: :: Irene and Valdar converse for a second, then announce with a smile. :: "Crystals are stable. Decay is as expected." :: Irene slips the latinum into her jacket pocket with a smirk. ::

William Chocox: ::William doesn't notice, too elated at his experiment working:: Told you it would work Reynolds!

Indaura Ryssan: How is the crystal work going?

William Chocox: It worked!

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: Ens Reynolds> Never had any doubts at all, sir. ::Total lie.::

Cptn Swain: Rex> So, how long will it take you get this setup for the ship?

Irene Mincine: "Collecting more crystals won't be a problem. How about setting it up on the yacht?" :: Irene looks to Will.

William Chocox: ::stares at Reynolds before turning to Rex:: Shouldn't be too long, anywhere between a couple hours, and a few days.

Indaura Ryssan: Are loose crystals fine?

Cptn Swain: Rex> Good. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't want to be a resident of this planet.

William Chocox: They appear to be so. At least, I think that's what we used here.

Irene Mincine: "Yeah, that's what we used in the experiment. Those crystal chunks we scavenged from the cave. I can't wait to get out of here. I've had enough of emergency rations."

William Chocox: I'm always willing to take any you don't want.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: Ens Reynolds> ::He began to collect his tools and the equipment they'd brought with them, tilting his head at Will.:: Do we use these to put up shielding around their comms, or pass the information on to the next sucke... ah... team to visit?

William Chocox: I think we can do both.

William Chocox: ::turns to Rex:: Unless you have an opinion Commander.

Irene Mincine: "Depends how much we hate the next team to visit, I would think."

Cptn Swain: Rex> ::Nods:: Sounds good to me, but prioritize the yacht.

William Chocox: Aye sir.

William Chocox: ::William grabs his tools to start working on the yacht::

Cptn Swain: Rex> ::Looks over to Maryse:: Why don't you and doctor Ryssan make sure the science team has everything they need.

Indaura Ryssan: :: Nods ::

Irene Mincine: "I think we'll need another batch of crystals, mostly..."

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: Ens Reynolds> You want to tackle the yacht and I can do the comms, sir? Or do you need me on the ship?

William Chocox: I should be able to handle the yacht. Be prepared for me to call you in if I need you though.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: Ens Reynolds> Aye, sir. ::He nodded and headed off to the comms hut to start making preparations.::

Indaura Ryssan: I'd rather not have to jostle the crystals from their housing

Cptn Swain: Rex> ::will:: Let me know if I can be of any help.

William Chocox: Aye sir. ::starts to make his way to the yacht::

Irene Mincine: "Valdar and I calculated that we'll only need 350 grams of crystal to provide enough power to get us off the planet. There should be enough loose crystals that we don't need to go around breaking intact ones off."

Cptn Swain: Rex> ::Orders the security team to begin getting the camp taken down::

Indaura Ryssan: Sounds simple enough, though we should get some extra, just in case.

Irene Mincine: :: Nod. :: "Agreed. 450 grams should give us a good margin for error."

William Chocox: ::makes it to the yacht and starts tinkering:: Hope the captain doesn't want this back the way we found it.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: Ens Reynolds> Hey! Can I get some grams or something of that good stuff? ::Yelling back at the scientists.:: I need it for the comms! ::Disappears into the hut.::

Indaura Ryssan: Down to the bottom again Irene?

Irene Mincine: :: Sigh. :: "...550 grams. Yeah, let's get going, Doctor."

Irene Mincine: :: Irene leads the science team and doctors back off to the crystal shaft. ::
