Sky Harbor Aegis | 23 October 2020

= /\ = Aegis Mission Brief 10/23/20 = /\ =
= /\ = 21 June 2388 - Stardate 2388.173 = /\ =

TBS is zero. The time is 1600 hours (4:00 PM) Aegis Local
Decks 187 and 188 are still under quarantine.
Vines grow along the decking and bulkheads, have a sweet aroma, and mimic humanoid movements.
***
Starfleet Command's runabout Osprey entered nebula 231 to search for the USS Rodman, USS Chi Song, and USS Agincourt.
Osprey reported its position and has not been heard from since.
In an attempt to find them, the closest listening beacon is 427P, not far from Aegis.

Tae'Lynn Dran: +OPS+ Dran to Ops.
Jylliene: +Dran+ Ops here.
Tae'Lynn Dran: +OPS+ Can you set internal sensors in this section to track the contrast dye pattern I'm sending you. ::fiddles again with her tricorder::
Tae'Lynn Dran: +OPS+ And then relay those results back to my tricorder?
Jylliene: +Dran+ Of course. Setting it now.
Chirakis: :::slight sneeze again::: (w) Apparently I have an allergy.
Scott Coleridge: ::splits his attention between listening to Jylliene and worrying about the missing runabout::
Jylliene: +Dran+And linked back to you.
Tae'Lynn Dran: +OPS+Thank you.
Jylliene: +Dran+ My pleasure.
Alexis McFarland: ::sitting next to Miana::
Sierra Robinson: :: adjusts her mask as he she jots down some notes on a PADD ::
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::Chirakis:: I hope that is the most aggressive the plant decides to get.
Chirakis: ::she nods to Dran as a security officer approaches and hands her a mask::
Tae'Lynn Dran: Because, I believe we are going to need to push our way into some of the foliage to get to its root.
Tarisa: Miana> ::Staring off into space out of boredom.::
Chirakis: Security Officer> We have a few allergic personnel, Captain.
Tae'Lynn Dran: The dye I introduced is moving down this corridor.
Alexis McFarland: ::smiles at Miana being cute::
Chirakis: ::still listening to Dran, she thanks the Lieutenant::
Scott Coleridge: ::notices Cayne is attending to the Osprey situation, so he decides it's more important to focus on what they can actually work on::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Looks up :: How we doing Robinson?
Sierra Robinson: :: notes a continued rise in power consumption from Atmospheric scrubbers on the quarantined decks ::
Chirakis: +com+ Commander Tarisa, Captain Chirakis. Unless you are busy will you take my place with Lt Dran.
Amanda Davis PhD: ::exits her office, paperwork in hand:::
Sierra Robinson: :: said while looking at screen :: The entire environmental system is being taxed on decks 187 and 188.
Tarisa: ::Perks up.:: +Chirakis+ Of course, Captain. What is your location?
Chirakis: +com+ Deck 188 with Lieutenant Dran.
Tarisa: Miana> ::Looks to Alexis and smiles, then plops her head down on the table.::
Sierra Robinson: Probably due to particulate matter, more pollen perhaps without a good look at a filtration scrubber on the deck itself.
Tarisa: +Chirakis+ On my way. Does Lt. Dran need anything else from the lab while I am here?
Amanda Davis PhD: ::knocks on Mimi's office door::::
mimipavilion: Enter.
Tae'Lynn Dran: I think we're good.
Chirakis: ::turns:: Lt Dran, do you need something else from the lab?
Chirakis: So... you do not require assistance?
Amanda Davis PhD: :::enters::: Lt Johnson has decided to move to another station. Whether that will happen or not is for command to decide. :::hands Mimi the PADD:::
Tae'Lynn Dran: I don't need anything else from the lab.
mimipavilion: ::nods taking the PADD::
Chirakis: Very well. ::slight sneeze:::
Chirakis: +com+ Commander Tarisa, apparently Lt Dran has finished his diagnostics.
Chirakis: ::turns::: I'll be in CnC.
Chirakis: ::nods to the security officer, walks toward the lift and enters:::: CnC.
Nijil tr'Korjata: Scrubbers... scrubbers
Chirakis: :::one last sneeze:::
Jylliene: ::generally monitoring the signal going to Dran as well as the visual representation of the possible locations of the Osprey on the monitor.::
Tarisa: +Chirakis+ Understood. ::Exits the lab, hopping onto a TL.::
Chirakis: (w) How humans can deal with these... things are beyond my ability to cope.
Chirakis: :::the lift stops and she exits on CnC with a sigh::
Sierra Robinson: :: thinks :: Someone is probably going to have to check to see if those Plants are not getting into anything else down there.
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::confused look:: +Tarisa+ Commander, I don't need anything from the lab but I do still need assistance.
Nijil tr'Korjata: Perhaps we can map them with a radioactive isotope.
Scott Coleridge: ::sees the captain enter, recognizes that flavour of sigh::
Tarisa: +Dran+ Do not worry, I am taking a lift down now.
Chirakis: :::realizing that Sindarin can not cope with everything::: Commander Coleridge, anything new?
Scott Coleridge: Unfortunately not.
Sierra Robinson: :: looks to Nijil :: I'd do it. We need to know what things look like down there.
Scott Coleridge: But sometimes, our people just need time to work the problems.
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::steps near the opening of the corridor. Testing out pushing some of the vines gently out of the way::
mimipavilion: ::goes and looks for Dacia::
Chirakis: :::quirks a brow::: Indeed they do.
Sierra Robinson: Until something is done, I'll just continue to watch for system failures on those two decks I suppose.
Nijil tr'Korjata: You will have to inject the plant at many points.. every few meters.
Dacia Sandero: ::in the sickbay finishing checking on a patient::
Chirakis: Anything from the Osprey?
Chirakis: I assume that they have found the lost ships?
mimipavilion: ::finds Dacia:: hey I'll be on the Cnc
Jylliene: ::though the question isn't directed to her, shakes her head in response::
Scott Coleridge: Um... you haven't heard then.
Scott Coleridge: Well, we haven't heard. From the Osprey.
Jylliene: ::attention still fixed on the monitor::
Dacia Sandero: Okay. ::smiles::
mimipavilion: ::smiles back and leaves medical::
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::checking her tricorder again::
Sierra Robinson: Oh no, sorry Sir... I meant I would do it if I could do it...Since I am not a botanist.. The plant would probably strangle me in self defense.
Tarisa: ::Arrives at deck 188 and steps out. Her nose is almost immediately assaulted with an intense sweet smell. Almost too much to bear. Fortunately, she was prepared, and placed her mask on.:: She then looked around, calling out for Dran.:: Lieutenant?
Tae'Lynn Dran: Over here.
Sierra Robinson: I'd let science handle that...
Chirakis: ::slight frown::: :::turns to Cayne::: Commander, contact the Osprey.
Nijil tr'Korjata: Do you want my dagger?
mimipavilion: ::arrives on the CnC via the tl::
Cdr Wyatt Cayne: Aye. :: Opens the comms to the Osprey :: +Osprey+ This is Aegis actual. Come in.
Alexis McFarland: ::closes her eyes and starts to nod off::
Sierra Robinson: :: eyes widen a bit :: Uhm...it would be very Sierra of me to lose your dagger down there. I am pretty good with a plasma torch though :: smiles behind her mask ::
Tae'Lynn Dran: I've introduced a contrast dye into the plant. Internal sensors are tracking it to its root. I need to get a close scan of it to figure how it is reacting the way it is.
Chirakis: ::slight turn to Mimi, nods:::
mimipavilion: ::nods, walking towards Chirakis::
Nijil tr'Korjata: It can be tracked, unless you toss it into space.
Tae'Lynn Dran: We'll have to push our way down this corridor.
Jylliene: (or unless the plant tosses it into space)
Sierra Robinson: Oh what does it look like?
Tarisa: ::Ears home in on the location. She walks down the hall, tuning the corner to greet Dran.:: Understood. ::Looking over the vines.:: This grew quite quickly in the time we were dealing with the other plant incident. How were we not able to detect it until now?
Chirakis: :::notes Mimi approaching but has other things on her mind:::
Tae'Lynn Dran: Not sure without seeing the sensor logs. It may simply not been seen as a problem by the computers programmed checklist.
Sierra Robinson: I wonder if Security has any sort of holo-imagery down there...that would be useful.
Cdr Wyatt Cayne: :: hailing again ::
mimipavilion: ::stands next to Chirakis with a PADD in hand::softly:: there's a personal issue that will need your attention at your earliest convenience. ::hands over the PADD::
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::begins to move down the corridor:: Let me know if the pollen count starts to affect you. The Captain seemed not quite herself after being exposed.
Cdr Wyatt Cayne: :: Turns to Chirakis :: No response from Osprey
Chirakis: :::Cayne:: The best listening beacon is 427P. Engage that in the last direction of the Osprey.
Tarisa: ::Points to her mask.:: I came prepared. ::Follows down the hall.::
Chirakis: ::turns to Mimi:: That would be for Commander Coleridge to deal with.
mimipavilion: ::nods and heads over to Scott::
Scott Coleridge: ::Mimi:: What's up?
Cdr Wyatt Cayne: Aye
Cdr Wyatt Cayne: :: Instructs the beacon to move towards Osprey's last known position ::
mimipavilion: Personal issue. ::hands over the PADD::
Nijil tr'Korjata: They did get some holography, but the growth rate makes it only a snapshot in time.
Annisha: :: taps her screen :: History...history
Scott Coleridge: ::takes the PADD::
Tae'Lynn Dran: This is getting pretty thick. The plant has to be pulling material from somewhere to collect this much biomass.
Tarisa: Miana> ::Ears perks at the tap.::
Scott Coleridge: ::skims:: Care to give me input on this, Doctor, since you're the one delivering this request instead of the crewmember in question?
Chirakis: ::listening carefully:::
Cdr Wyatt Cayne: The search will take a bit of time. It will repeat my message in regular intervals.
Chirakis: ::holds up a hand to Cayne::: Listen carefully.
Sierra Robinson: :: rubs her forehead briefly :: I guess I am too eager to weed whack the stuff maybe it is because I don't want to end up on a biobed again.
Tarisa: ::Curious as she carefully moves through.:: What would be down here that it could use? Replicator matter?
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Looks at Robinson :: Thanks for being here. After my experience with the Yith I find you keep me grounded in this time frame.
Alexis McFarland: ::Looks at Annisha:: Hmm
mimipavilion: According to our counselor, the crewmember can't handle deep space missions very well and thus the request for transfer.
Tae'Lynn Dran: Unclear.
Chirakis: There is a very slight call for support.
Annisha: Hmm? Are you reading my Rihan script?
Chirakis: Very slight.
Scott Coleridge: I see.
Dacia Sandero: ::looks at medical reports and findings ::
Nijil tr'Korjata: I have been on many biobeds.
Sierra Robinson: Well that is good. I am glad I am good for something on this station aside from giving business to the resident Pizza Maker :: smiles ::
Chirakis: :::Cayne::: Is that the best we can get from that beacon?
Tae'Lynn Dran: We're rather close to the cargo sections. It may have taken root in something there.
Alexis McFarland: Sorta, but I'm not good at reading Rihan.
Annisha: It's a bit like Vulcan.
Scott Coleridge: ::Mimi:: Thank you, Doctor. I will take that under advisement.
Tae'Lynn Dran: A stray seed stowing away in cargo is usually how things like this get around.
mimipavilion: ::nods::
Alexis McFarland: Oh, that makes sense. I can read some Vulcan.
Tarisa: ::Nods.:: We will get a clearer answer when the roots are located.
Sierra Robinson: Mission injuries?
Tarisa: Miana> ::Lifts her head up.:: Hmm?
Tae'Lynn Dran: Oh, take care. The plant also likes to interact with others. ::swatting away a flowered vine that keeps swaying in her face::
Alexis McFarland: ::smiles:: Yes, Vulcan
mimipavilion: ::goes and stands off to the side::
Nijil tr'Korjata: You are a valued member of the team here.. Elements..., that sounded like a sales pitch.
Sierra Robinson: Thank you sir...Good to be appreciated...:: checks chrono :: almost pizza time
Chirakis: Commander Cayne, send the beacon in that direction and magnify it as much as possible.
Cdr Wyatt Cayne: :: does so ::
mimipavilion: ::listens and observes::

Chirakis: =/\==/\=PAUSE SIM=/\==/\=
Chirakis: =/\==/\=PAUSE SIM=/\==/\=
Chirakis: Thank you
Chirakis: Again, well done, considering the circumstances - the strange things that are happening.
Chirakis: TBS takes us to 7pm.
Chirakis: Comments Commander?
Scott Coleridge: Nope
Scott Coleridge: We will find out Lt. Johnson's fate... next week.
Alexis McFarland: ooh
Chirakis: Excellent.
Chirakis: Questions or comments from the crew?
Chirakis: Seeing none.
Chirakis: Crew dismissed. Be well. Be Safe. Don’t forget your towel.
