Lt Jim Pine and Lt Hank Slym are recovering from extensive wounds in the medical complex.  Captain Chirakis believes that the Krakraldz Cartel has regrouped to take over Aegis and its environs.  Their leader is Kraka.

Small particle waves are disrupting warp fields for cargo ships coming toward Aegis.  The cargo ship Dennison has slowed its ship to impulse power.  Science and engineering continue to work through the information they have gathered.  Starfleet has modified a route to approach the station.

To Captain Chirakis, SI-5, Commanding Officer, Sky Harbor Aegis
To Starfleet Command via Subspace Portal

We have been experiencing an unusual new phenomenon that is interfering with the creation of a stable warp field in the vicinity of Aegis.

So far a blue bubble that surrounds the station is not evenly distributed.  Some vessels can get through easily, but the phenomenon might encroach on the immediate volume around Aegis. If that grows too large it would effectively cut us off from any outside contact other than subspace communication.

Depending on the intensity of the phenomenon, it could disrupt equipment that relies on sustained subspace fields like the FTL processors in the computer systems.

Subspace comms should be unaffected because long-range communications happen through a different effect.

If the bubble is only a few AU in radius, it is an inconvenience. Ships can still approach and depart on impulse. If the bubble approaches a light-year or more in radius, ships would have no way of reaching Aegis. Their warp field would collapse as they approach, but they would be too far away to reach us on impulse in any practical period of time.

Some of this is speculation, since we don't have a full comprehension of what the effect is doing. At this moment, Aegis is not in any immediate danger. We would have plenty of time to evacuate.

We will keep you informed.

Commander Scott Coleridge
Executive Officer, Sky Harbor Aegis
