Someone's been Peeping in My Room...

::Jenks paced crazily around his quarters, jerking his head at any and everything, trying to see what's been disturbed::

 

A dead man, A Dead Man!?  How can a dead man have broken into my quarters and accessed my data store??  It doesn't make sense, it doesn't make ANY sense!!

 

::He finally sits and tries to calm down::

 

Okay, I've got the next shipment ready and now this happens, maybe I better hold off.  But what do I have to worry about someone pretending to be a dead man??  Is it a competitor, trying to scare me off?

 

::grabs PADD and reads again::

 

Lt. Commander Garnoopy, Chief Engineer of the USS Manticore.  There's something about that name...

 

::Runs some supply queries on the station mainframe::

 

Yes, I thought I've heard of that name...  Manticore.  They have been through here before, I thought so.  Hmm, for a repair and recovery ship, they get a lot of supplies... but why can't I see what they've ever received?  I can get to all of the materiel that flow through here, but all I see is rough tonnage for that ship.  So I have a ship that gets mystery supplies, explodes in Romulan space and their dead Engineer is in my quarters two weeks later.

 

So, either the guy isn't dead, or he's been a phantom all along, like the ship, and now someone else is using this fake identity.  Or maybe I'm just going nuts - this is giving me a headache!!  Even if someone got to my data, I guess the only one in trouble would be me.  My buyers change all the time, heck I bet they Never give me real names, just real money.  So they can't be found, but I'd be fingered, that's for sure.  Maybe it's time for Burl to earn his keep, step up his security, find some sneaks, break some bones!  I gotta get this shipment out of here before anything stops it from going.  If these torps don't get to the buyer, I'm afraid of what they'll do to me - even more so than a dead guy walking through my door.

 

I gotta get that crew finished up and get it loaded up first thing tomorrow, that's for sure.
