Sky Harbor Aegis | 31 January 2020

Aegis Mission Brief 1/31/20
1 June 2388 - Stardate 2388.153

TBS is 2 hours. The time is 1000 hours (10:00 am) Aegis Local.
Science and medical are on the verge of discovering the cause of illness on Aegis.
It seems to target certain individuals and/or species, cause unknown.
USS Missouri’s personnel have found caged corporeal gremlin-like remains and a metal box buried in pieces of the Alien Alliance stealth ship.

Chirakis: =/\=BEGIN SIM=/\=
Chirakis: =/\=BEGIN SIM=/\=

mimipavilion: ::in medical::
Jylliene: ::CnC, ops::
Chirakis: :::CnC at the master console:::
Tarisa: ::Still in the med lab, working.::
Chirakis: :::reading through information from Missouri:::
Dacia Sandero: ::in medical, looking at the DNA samples::
Cptn d'Ka: @ ::in his office on Missouri, feeding information to Aegis:::
mimipavilion: ::trying to figure out the DNA::
Alexis McFarland: ::with Miana and Annisha::
Chirakis: ::looking up from her console, she checks the status of CnC personnel to see if they have any symptoms of... anything:::
Jylliene: ::sorting out messy info::
Tarisa: Hmm... ::Looking at data between the station and Missouri.:: I am certain the difference between us and the Missouri is size. They are much smaller, and the environmental scrubbers could not handle the extra strain.
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::labeling test samples::
Dacia Sandero: ::nods:: Sounds logical.
Cptn d'Ka: @ ::sending his final report:::
mimipavilion: ::nods::
Chirakis: ::receives d’Ka’s report, thumbs through, frowns a bit and looks up::: Here we go again, Commander Kital.
Chirakis: ::stands after forwarding the information to the medical complex::
Jylliene: ::sighs::
Tarisa: As far the cause, we know the Gremlins are involved, whether knowingly or not. I believe the stench they create could be a factor.
mimipavilion: It could be.
Dacia Sandero: I was thinking the same. When they released their stench through the whole station, I am thinking it might be likely how it spread.
Chirakis: ::stops next to Jylliene:: And your family, Commander. Is it recovering, if only a little?
Jylliene: Seems to be. It's hard to say, with the dreams.
Tarisa: But the real question is how is it changing some of our genetic markers?
Jylliene: But they are better than they were.
Jylliene: And that'll have to do for now.
mimipavilion: ::listening, pulls up her medical file looking at her most recent scan to one prior to the gremlins arriving::
Chirakis: I believe that is better than getting worse.
Scott Coleridge: ::in his quarters, resting as part of the temporary lighter duty shifts::
Jylliene: It is.
Dacia Sandero: It's mostly humans that are affected by these symptoms, if I recall.
Jylliene: ::ponders::
mimipavilion: Yes it is. ::looking at her genetic markers::
Tarisa: ::Nods:: And Romulans, and Vulcans to a lesser extent. Though I have yet to hear any complaints from them.
Jylliene: Are you doing well, Captain?
Tarisa: Though our races may seem safe at the moment, I still think there is a possibility we can eventually become affected.
mimipavilion: ::Dacia:: Do you see any differences with the genetic markers?
Chirakis: :::realizes that she's been staring into space, she nods:: Yes, Commander.
Chirakis: Quite well.
Jylliene: ::nods:: Good to hear.
Dacia Sandero: Hard to tell at this point, but I need to do more detailed scans. ::Tarisa:: I agree, looks like stress and fatigue from long work hours also play a big part as well.
Scott Coleridge: ::also staring into space as he listens to some music, wondering how everyone else is holding up::
mimipavilion: ::nods:: Alright ::softly:: You can run a detailed scan of me, the genetic markers are mine.
Chirakis: ::quietly::: Captain d'Ka and I are immune to most illnesses.
Alexis McFarland: ::plays with Miana and Annisha::
Tarisa: ::Looks to Dran.:: Do you have anything else to add from your own research?
Dacia Sandero: ::nods:: Yes, Okay. ::does a comprehensive scan of Mimi:::
Chirakis: ::leans close:: The power of Sindar blood. ::then stands to resume her pace:::
Dacia Sandero: ::notes and comparing her genetic markers from those affected::
Tarisa: Miana> I wonder when people will feel better.
Jylliene: ::nods to Chirakis::
Jylliene: ::makes a brief message and sends::
Alexis McFarland: Mm. Maybe they need that green milk stuff Annisha drank. She said she slept well after she drank it.
Cptn d'Ka: @ ::exiting his office, he enters the lift::: Medical Complex.
Tae'Lynn Dran: There is a possibility the change in DNA markers is like an immune suppressant. Some features are similar to preventing transplant rejections.
Dacia Sandero: Hmm.
mimipavilion: ::looks at Dacia:: Find something interesting?
Chirakis: ::as she passes by the command console and notices incoming:::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Wakes up in medical, but not in a bed :: Uhm
Dacia Sandero: Yes, your immune system seems to be more robust than these other samples. I think it could be a reason why you don't seem to be experiencing any symptoms right now.
Chirakis: ::glance to Jylliene, nods, then moves on keeping that in mind:::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Gets up on two feet and heads to the nearest doctor :: Jolan tru. Appears I feel asleep again. I am returning to duty?
Tarisa: ::Takes in what Dran said.:: That sounds plausible.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: exasperates :: What a dream. :: Looks around to make sure where he is ::
mimipavilion: ::nods::
Chirakis: Commander Kital, take the con. I'm going to check on progress in medical.
Dacia Sandero: Dr. NoName>Jolan tru. How are you feeling?
Chirakis: I won't be long.
Jylliene: Yes ma'am.
Dacia Sandero: :;too Nijil::
Chirakis: ::enters the lift::: Medical Complex.
Jylliene: ::starts making a slow circuit of the CnC, because it does feel good to stretch a bit::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: to Kno Naim :: Like a slept really deeply. but awake the whole time. I was talking temporal mechanics with this wom- person for some hours.
Nijil tr'Korjata: Au know, cause and effect kind of things, just short of going to a board and writing out equations.
Tarisa: I wish we had enough to go on to at least begin preventative measures. We still appear just short, however.
Chirakis: ::exits to enter the complex, assuming that they are working through the problem:::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: His PADD starts chirping as his PADD is back on duty, even if he isn't ::
Dacia Sandero: Yes, it's very complicated. But I feel we are making good progress.
mimipavilion: It's coming along.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Looks at his padd :: I'm going to need an entire shift to catch up... wish that other woman was here to help me, even, wait, was I discussing things with myself? Perhaps I have insights into causality that I never knew.
Chirakis: ::not wanting to disturb their work, she stops at a discreet distance to listen:::
Dacia Sandero: No Name> Ah that's interesting. :::Scans Nijil and checks his brainwaves:: Seem to be doing well, I'll send in my reports but ultimately, your clearing back on duty will be up to Dr Davis and Pavillion, I would think.
Tae'Lynn Dran: I am contemplating tests to judge the natural purpose of this illness. Are we experiencing its designed intent or some type of side effect. Alien biologies rarely work together as in an orderly fashion.
Tarisa: ::Ears perk up as she turns to see Chirakis. Can't hide from the kitty senses.::
Nijil tr'Korjata: Well, I can catch up on the administration part of it.
Dacia Sandero: I'll try to help with that, if you need it.
Nijil tr'Korjata: I will set up a workstation over in the waiting area while they let me know, post haste if au will.
Chirakis: ::Nods to Tarisa:: Any new information?
Jylliene: ((translation: he's gonna work until he's cleared to work?))
Chirakis: ((Sounds about right.))
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Nods and goes over ::
Tarisa: :;To Dran:: I believe the crew of the Missouri might be feeling the designed intent. And as I've mentioned before the size between ship and station could be the reason we are not experiencing the full effect.
Dacia Sandero: Dr No Name> You can do that at in your own quarters too.. just sayin
Tarisa: ::Turns back to Chirakis.:: Currently brainstorming, Captain.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Places his padd down and it projects upward in front of him. A series of engineering reports on systems throughout the station. Clearing the easy ones would be the least point of stress. ::
Dacia Sandero: ::nods::
Chirakis: I will not disturb you, then.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: looks up at NN :: I will be alright for a time. A new area will help me work.
Cptn d'Ka: @ :::exiting medical, he takes the lift to the fighter bay to check for progress:::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: He swiped and cleared items as if he was a slow Commander Data ::
Dacia Sandero: NN> Alright, lemme know if you need anything.
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::Tarisa:: Very likely. Smaller more dense population always increased transmission. I should study the species diversity on Missouri as well compared to Aegis.
Cptn d'Ka: @ ::pondering:: {{Kh’éile, why would the Alien Alliance send their craft toward Aegis with only a few animals and allergens?}}
Tarisa: Captain, it may not be an actual fix, but I would recommend the Missouri seek environmental scrubber replacements at the shipyard. They could even safely offload crewman there without affecting anyone, and least until we find something concrete to help everyone.
mimipavilion: ::thinks about maybe re-homing the gremlins off station, as well the shipyard as a precaution::
Tarisa: ::Nods to Dran.:: A good idea.
Chirakis: ::looks up at his call, but turns to Tarisa:::
Chirakis: I will inform the shipyard.
Nijil tr'Korjata: +Jylliene Message+ Working at sickbay until I get cleared. Doing...paperwork they call it? jt
Chirakis: You said "everyone". Have we more who are becoming ill?
mimipavilion: ::looks at Chirakis::
Dacia Sandero: :::think that is good idea as well::
Jylliene: +Nijil msg+ Isn't the point of not being cleared for duty to rest? Mental duties take a toll just as much as physical+
Nijil tr'Korjata: +Jylliene Message+ PS: Are we having stew for dinner or did we have that last night?
Tarisa: Everyone that has been affected, and we have not determined if those not affected are truly safe.
Jylliene: +Nijil msg+ Stew is tonight.
Jylliene: ::gazes upward briefly, then continues the slow circuit of the CnC::
Chirakis: ::nods contemplatively:: Do anything you can to stop the spread, Commander.
Chirakis: And studying the species diversity should help. ::Dran::
mimipavilion: ::nods::
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::making notes in her journal::
Chirakis: Missouri is still working on it.
Chirakis: 10:55 PM
Tarisa: ::Nods.::
Chirakis: {{My question as well, Kh’éile }}
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Thinks he should tell Jy everything on the dream, even the temporal mechanics... wait, would that place her in a coma? ::
mimipavilion: We should also consider relocating the gremlins away from the shipyard and the station.
Cptn d'Ka: @ ::standing outside the bay, watching the crew plow through the remains of the stealth ship:::
Chirakis: ::Mimi:: And where would we place them?
mimipavilion: At the moment I'm not sure. But it does need to be away from the Alliance.
Scott Coleridge: ::yawns and gets up, prepares to do some stretches before he resumes duty::
Chirakis: From the Alliance?
Scott Coleridge: ::wonders how science is progressing on investigating what's happening::
Chirakis: As protection?
Chirakis: Doctor, let's begin with quarantine regarding the Gremlins. Captain d'Ka informed me that they are not a close species, though they are similar.
Chirakis: (Last words)
mimipavilion: ::nods::
Dacia Sandero: ::listens and nods::
Chirakis: =/\==/\=PAUSE SIM=/\==/\=
Chirakis: =/\==/\=PAUSE SIM=/\==/\=
Chirakis: Thank you
Chirakis: Both interesting and difficult.
Chirakis: TBS will be 6PM same day.
Chirakis: Comments, Commander Coleridge?
Chirakis: Questions or comments from the crew?
Chirakis: Very well...
Chirakis: Crew dismissed. Be well. Be Safe. Don’t forget your towel.
