The station is fairly quiet.
Most of Alpha shift has left CnC, but some remained to catch up on work.
Lt Kenyon is working on the virus.
Captain d’Ka has returned to Missouri.
Security remains on high alert.
Drs Pavilion and Sandero are very busy in the medical complex.

mimipavilion: ::in medical::
Dacia Sandero: ::in said medical complex::
Alexis McFarland: ::with Miana and Annisha::
Chirakis: :::CnC, checking various things as she sits in the command chair:::
Tarisa: ::Is in her office, checking reports.::
Dacia Sandero: ::treating the injured Engineering ensign::
Tarisa: Miana> ::Playing with Alexis and Annisha.::
Amanda Davis PhD: ::exits her office, having heard that there is a severe trauma patient:::
Scott Coleridge: ::reviewing Kenyon's engineering report::
mimipavilion: ::also treating the ensign::Mike:: Do you know how this happened?
Chirakis: ::flicking through information that needs to be either ignored or filed:::
Alexis McFarland: ::snuggles Miana::
Dacia Sandero: ::Scans his head and checks his neural readings::
mimipavilion: ::treating Jake's head as Dacia scans::still waiting for Mike's response::
Scott Coleridge: ::reviewing the information about how the virus has interacted with the power grid:: Hmm
Amanda Davis PhD: :::removed her usual clothes and suits up in case she is needed, then moves toward the trauma unit:::
Chirakis: ::hearing the hum, without looking up she mentions::: Something interesting, Commander? ::Scott::
Dacia Sandero: ::looks:: Well, the initial scans do look promising. I’d imagine a concussion, but all of his neural pathways seem to look intact. We’ll have to see once he regains consciousness to be certain.
Tarisa: Miana> ::purrs::
mimipavilion: ::Nods to Dacia:: That's good to hear. I manage to treat the area.
Johnson Kenyon: ::directing Main Engineering::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: unsure where he is ::
Scott Coleridge: ::Chirakis:: Oh, just going over updates on the virus. It was more clever than we anticipated.
Chirakis: ::glances over, somewhat surprised, then nods::
Dacia Sandero: ::nods::
mimipavilion: ::turns to Lopez:: What happened to Ensign Wright?
Chirakis: SF Engineer Mike Jersey> No, ma'am, not exactly. He was working on a console, hit his head getting out from underneath it. His tool chest fell on him and all his tools feel as well.
Johnson Kenyon: ::setting up protocol layers to isolate, confuse and combat the virus should it return::
Dacia Sandero: Oh dear.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: finds himself in medical, still? How long had he been here ::
Alexis McFarland: You guys feeling hungry yet?
mimipavilion: ::Nods:: Ok. I take it you did question him prior to him passing out, was there anything that may be helpful, even if it doesn't seem important.
Chirakis: Mike> He tried to get something out about a woman who passed him. A female engineer.  But ma'am... we don't have any female engineers working with us, and we didn't see anyone like he described.
Dacia Sandero: ::tries to think of any female engineers she knew::
Scott Coleridge: ::Chirakis:: I'll be in engineering if you need me.
Chirakis: ::nod::: Very well.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: sits up ::
Dacia Sandero: Working on the Aegis? I know a few.
mimipavilion: ::Nods:: Alright. I'll check with my command staff to see if there was anyone in the area where you guys were at. If you don't mind me asking what area were you assigned?
Nijil tr'Korjata: Doctor?
Tarisa: Miana> ::Perks up at the mention of food.::
mimipavilion: ::turns to Nijil:: Just a minute, Commander?
Chirakis: Mike> ::Dacia:: Yes, ma'am. But we don't have any in our area. He said he saw her pass right by.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: looks around ::
Scott Coleridge: ::enters the TL and takes the ride down to the coolest part of the station::
Dacia Sandero: I see. Maybe he was daydreaming?
Nijil tr'Korjata: Can I go? This a test?
Alexis McFarland: We can go to Blubby's, or somewhere else if you want.
mimipavilion: ::Nijil:: Yes you can go, but no duty.
Chirakis: Mike> ::finishing his trauma report, he sends it to Dr Pavilion:::
Dacia Sandero: I'd go relax in your quarters. I think Annisha is with Alexis and Miana, so it should be nice and quiet for you there.
Johnson Kenyon: ::first shift ends; directing 2nd shift::
Chirakis: Mike> :::walks toward Dr Pavilion in case he's needed:::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: smiles :: I have all the time in the...station. :: he walked to the exit. It was good to be back here again. ::
mimipavilion: ::receives Mike's trauma report::
Scott Coleridge: ::enters engineering::
Tarisa: Miana> Mmm... I will go where you go.
Johnson Kenyon: ::moving around Main engineering, directing engineers::
Scott Coleridge: ::spots Kenyon and approaches::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: exits and walks out ::
Johnson Kenyon: ::sees Commander Coleridge, finishes his conversation and moves to the Commander::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: thinks of names ::
Scott Coleridge: Mr. Kenyon, how's everything?
Alexis McFarland: Hmm, ok then. Blubby's it is then I guess. ::heads to the commerce section with Miana::
Nijil tr'Korjata: +Kenyon+ Kenyon is it? How is the department going?
Johnson Kenyon: ::to Coleridge:: Somewhat chaotic at the moment. I'm trying to organize everyone. It's a big job
Johnson Kenyon: ::notices the Comm badge, decides he must ignore it for now::
Scott Coleridge: Yes it is. ::ah, the memories::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: frowns :: Alright.
Dacia Sandero: ::leaves the ensign in peace and writes a medical report::
Scott Coleridge: I was going to ask you some follow-up questions about your report on the virus, but if this isn't a good time I can come back later.
Johnson Kenyon: ah... actually, your input would be appreciated, sir
Johnson Kenyon: Much of what I put in my report is observation and the other bit is theory
Chirakis: ::continues reading through reports in CnC:::
mimipavilion: ::looking at the report::Mike:: So to verify from the report, you all were in engineering.
Chirakis: Mike> Yes, ma’am.  One of the seldom-used areas that has heavy equipment, giving your engineers a break so they can focus on whatever’s messing with the station.
Alexis McFarland: ::Arrives at Blubby's and orders a Blubby Burger with Cheese combo::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Goes to the park.. Nijil seemed to frequent the natural surrounds amid the alloys and technology. ::
Scott Coleridge: I'm mostly concerned about hardening our systems against further attacks of this nature.
Amanda Davis PhD: ::standing by:::
Scott Coleridge: Are you satisfied with your current countermeasures you've put in place?
Johnson Kenyon: The problem is that we're not positive we know about it. This virus is so alien, it could be a lifeform.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: enters the park ::
Chirakis: Jake> ::groans:::
mimipavilion: ::sees Amanda out of the corner of her eye::Amanda:: When the ensign wakes up enough, you can talk to him.
mimipavilion: ::Mike:: With me.
Johnson Kenyon: I'm not satisfied with anything yet. I'm putting together as many safeguards as possible with contingencies
Chirakis: Mike> Yes, ma'am.
mimipavilion: ::goes to her office::
Amanda Davis PhD: ::nods to Mimi and approaches Jake's biobed:::
Johnson Kenyon: Somehow Science was able to isolate it or at least a piece of it and monitor its movements in the simulator.
mimipavilion: ::enters her office and waits for the doors to close behind Mike::
Dacia Sandero: ::checks Jake's vitals from where she was::
Amanda Davis PhD: :::watching his biosigns:::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: wonders if Nijil's life was taking a downturn ::
Scott Coleridge: Yes, I heard about that. Very clever.
Amanda Davis PhD: ::and he seems stable, so she sits by his bed, just in case::
mimipavilion: ::Mike:: So you all were in engineering correct.
Tarisa: Miana> ::Also orders her food::
Chirakis: Mike> Yes, ma'am.
Johnson Kenyon: I suspect they somehow took a self replicating virus code, but I was reading about the species Medusan, you familiar?
Chirakis: Mike> One section was designated for us to work on.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: sits next to the small pond ::
Dacia Sandero: ::also pleased with Jake's progress, takes his groaning as a good sign:::
mimipavilion: ::nods:: Other than who you stated in this report ::holds up the PADD:: there was nobody in the area... male or female?
Johnson Kenyon: ::picks up PADD and hastily types a note to Nijil::
Alexis McFarland: ::finds a place to sit::
Amanda Davis PhD: Jake> ::mumbling::: Beautiful... gorgeous red hair...
Scott Coleridge: Hmm, I seem to recall a passing story of an Earth myth? But not a species, no.
mimipavilion: ::nods::
Chirakis: Mike> Well, ma'am, there were others in the area, but no women if that's what you mean.
Chirakis: Mike> Not even close, ma'am.
Johnson Kenyon: Commander, Medusans are these species without bodies. To look on one without protective lenses cause humans to go insane.
Johnson Kenyon: However they are very useful navigators and have been serving in some specially designed Star Fleet ships.
mimipavilion: ::nods:: Alright. thank you. That'll be all for now.
Johnson Kenyon: That got me thinking. If they can do that, could a non corporal being live in our power systems?
Amanda Davis PhD: Jake> ::apparently dreaming, but incoherent::
Scott Coleridge: Errrr ::scratches his head for a moment::
Chirakis: Mike> Yes, ma'am. :::stands, about face, moves out:::
Johnson Kenyon: Whether it is an advanced virus or a being, the defenses are the same. Somehow this thing appears to be learning our systems... experimenting.
mimipavilion: ::begins a search perimeter in engineering looking for red haired female engineers::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Does not feel angry, but... disappointment? Delusion? ::
mimipavilion: ::and crosses it with who was on duty at the time of the incident::
Johnson Kenyon: sending signals through the power relays. Since they are separate from the data relays, they can send information to any part of the station at any time, but they have to send the correct voltages to get a signal through.
Scott Coleridge: We've had experiences with non-corporeal life-forms interacting with our power systems.
Johnson Kenyon: we have?
Chirakis: Mike> :::walks toward Amanda, but does not approach Jake's bed:::
Scott Coleridge: Yes, we've encountered a being designated "Shadow." I believe you have clearance for the logs.
Scott Coleridge: So such things exist, to be sure. But I'll remind you of Occam's Razor.
Johnson Kenyon: Occam's Razor?
mimipavilion: ::But doesn't find any correlation:: Hmm...
mimipavilion: ::exits her office:: Dacia, mind the store.
Dacia Sandero: Yes, very well..
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: watching couples and others around the park ::
Johnson Kenyon: ::Message to Nijil through data PADD:: Sorry. Tied up with Coleridge visit. Will get back to you later.
Scott Coleridge: An ancient Earth expression: Entities should not be multiplied without necessity.
Amanda Davis PhD: :::slight turn, then looks up to Mike:: Hello, Lieutenant. ::she stands and offers her hand:: I'm Dr Davis, psychiatrist and neurosurgeon.
mimipavilion: ::leaves medical and goes to the CnC via tl::
Chirakis: Mike> ::takes her hand:: Mike Jersey, ma'am. ::nods toward Jake:: How's he doing?
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: taps acknowledge on his pads ::
Scott Coleridge: Always start from the simplest possible set of axioms, and build your way from there to an explanation. Adding more layers of complexity… positing sentience, for example… without sufficient evidence may send you down the wrong path.
mimipavilion: ::arrives on the CnC a short time later::
Amanda Davis PhD: :::deep breath::: He's better, but it will take some time.
mimipavilion: ::looks around for a bit and spots the Captain::
mimipavilion: ::goes over to her::
Chirakis: :::hears Mimi enter and swivels her chair::: Doctor. ::stands:: I understand there was an accident.
Johnson Kenyon: ::nods:: so you think I'm overthinking this?
Scott Coleridge: ::looking over Kenyon's shoulder for a moment, frowns::
mimipavilion: ::nods:: Yes there was, but the ensign is stable thanks to a quick acting corpsman/engineer.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: swirls his hand in the water ::
Scott Coleridge: ::looks back:: Sorry, thought I saw something. What was that you just said?
mimipavilion: ::Chirakis:: There's a related matter that brings me up here.
Chirakis: A corpsman/engineer. Sounds like one of Commander Drexler's team. I’m glad he was available.
mimipavilion: ::nods::
Chirakis: ::nod:: Continue.
Johnson Kenyon: ::puts down PADD:: Commander, you're saying I'm over thinking this?
Scott Coleridge: I like that you theorize big. ::smiles:: It's a good trait in a senior engineer. But sentience is only one theory of many.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: to noip :: This is a nice place.
Amanda Davis PhD: What he needs most now is rest. We will keep you informed.
Johnson Kenyon: Oh. I agree. It's just a very unique situation.
Amanda Davis PhD: Mike> Yes, ma'am. Thank you, ma'am.
Scott Coleridge: The difference between our job as engineers versus the job of the scientists is that we need to put theories into practice. As much as it might intrigue us on an intellectual level, we need to focus on what we can do and leave it to the scientists to investigate what the virus *is*.
Amanda Davis PhD: Mike> ::after taking another look at Jake, he exits the trauma unit and the medical complex to return to work::
Scott Coleridge: So whether or not the virus is sentient, we know it *is* adaptive. Proceeding on that basis, consider the best antivirus you can develop to fight it.
Scott Coleridge: Why not turn the virus against itself?
mimipavilion: The ensign... Wright mentioned a female engineer. Well, the Command Engineers have no female engineers and I checked with our group of engineers, specifically the females on duty. They were else were. Wright mentioned red hair... none of our red haired female engineers where even on duty.
Johnson Kenyon: ::nods:: I'm hoping to create an encoding device for the power relays that prevent their signals from passing to data without a code.
Johnson Kenyon: Turn the virus against itself?
Scott Coleridge: That's a good idea and improves our security overall.
Chirakis: :::ponders that:::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: looks at his Chrono, lays back on the grass ::
Scott Coleridge: The virus can only adapt based on the feedback signals it receives. You and Tarisa figured out how to run a copy of the virus in a simulated environment.
Johnson Kenyon: I'm also setting up a way to modulate the power to sort of damage the viral code if it is in the power stream.
Scott Coleridge: Why not replicate that result on the station-level? Figure out how to ensure the virus receives false feedback so that we control how it adapts.
mimipavilion: So that made me think we may have an impostor on board.
Scott Coleridge: Then it's just a matter of making sure the only thing it disrupts is itself.
Chirakis: An impostor. :::pondering:::
Johnson Kenyon: ::to Coleridge:: It's a brilliant idea. I'll see if Tarisa can help simulate it.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: wakes up :: What...? The park?
Scott Coleridge: Good. Keep me apprised of the work on the power systems. ::looks around:: And good luck minding the store until Commander Korjata is back. Let me know if you need anything.
mimipavilion: ::nods:: I'm forwarding you a copy of the report now. ::sends it from the PADD in her hand::
Chirakis: I'm going to have Lt Garand forward the security footage from that area.
Chirakis: We'll see if there is someone wandering.
mimipavilion: ::nods::
Johnson Kenyon: ::looks down::: Sort of like an antivirus running in lock step... ::looks up:: I'll let you know what I find out.
Chirakis: ::nod::: Thank you, Doctor.
Chirakis: (prepare to pause)
Alexis McFarland: ::eating her food with Miana::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: wonders how he got here ::
mimipavilion: ::smiles:: No problem.
Johnson Kenyon: +Tarisa+ Kenyon to Tarisa. I need your assistance in modifying another simulation.

Chirakis: =/\==/\=PAUSE SIM=/\==/\=

Chirakis: Thank you
Chirakis: Very well done, as always.
Chirakis: TBS will be until tomorrow morning at 0700.
Chirakis: Comments from you, Commander Coleridge?
Scott Coleridge: Nope
Chirakis: Questions or comments from the crew?
Chirakis: One comment from me... actually two comments...
Chirakis: First, thank you for persevering and getting into the room.
Chirakis: Secondly, next week is just past Christmas. Is that a problem for anyone?
Johnson Kenyon: might be
Nijil tr'Korjata: Not for me
Scott Coleridge: I will be wearing a festive hat, but you won't be able to tell.
Chirakis: Understood.
Alexis McFarland: Shouldn't be..
mimipavilion: nope
Johnson Kenyon: probably not, but there's always that possibility
Chirakis: If you can make it, wonderful. If not, no problem. I'll make the sim unofficial just in case.
Chirakis: However.... you never can tell what the end of the year will bring....
Alexis McFarland: hmm
Chirakis: It could be very interesting.
Chirakis: Anything else?
Chirakis: Very well...
Chirakis: Crew dismissed. Be well. Be Safe. Don’t forget your towel.
