 Sky Harbor Aegis Chat Log
28 May 2388 - Stardate 2388.149

TBS is 2 hours. The time is 1000 hours (10:00 am) Aegis Local.
Aegis has settled down to a normal routine.
Science and engineering are working on virus prevention.
It is possible that the Alien Alliance is testing the waters.

Chirakis: =/\=BEGIN SIM=/\=
Chirakis: =/\=BEGIN SIM=/\=
Chirakis: =/\=BEGIN SIM=/\=

Cdr Wyatt Cayne: :: Still working that coffee, even after several warmups ::
Johnson Kenyon: ::lost in thought::
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::at CnC science station::
mimipavilion: ::still in her quarters::
Chirakis: ::closes the session with Solokov and Raza, makes a few notes, and puts them aside:::
Dacia Sandero: ::working in Sickbay::
Alexis McFarland: ::playing with Miana and Annisha::
Nijil tr'Korjata: Annisha > :: Giving Miana and Alexis the Rihan eye.
Jylliene: ::CnC, ops::
Jylliene: ::double-checking the supplies::
Chirakis: ::flips her stylus a few times, then stands to stretch and stare out the window:::
Chirakis: ::a few deep breaths and she exits her office:::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Nijil was already thinking of lunch. There were thousands of sandwiches, thousands of soups... ::
Scott Coleridge: ::arrives back on CnC from a meeting::
Chirakis: ::notes the XO entering and nods:::
Tae'Lynn Dran: ::having updates all the ongoing life science experiments she lazily watched the blips and beeps of the sensor inputs::
Alexis McFarland: Mmmm??
Johnson Kenyon: ::wonders if there is some way to test his theory....::
Johnson Kenyon: ::thinking:: The SIMULATION!
Jylliene: ::switches to another list, adds a few entries, subtracts a few others, then returns her attention to the requisition submissions::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Standing in front of a replicator, sighs :: Computer, one...one... split pea soup at 89 degrees.
Johnson Kenyon: ::working his way back to the science lab where he was shown the simulation::
Scott Coleridge: ::Chirakis:: Engineering and science seem to have the current situation well in hand.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Nijil quickly grabbed the soup and placed it on the table. He then stuck a probe to get its temperature ::
Chirakis: Excellent. ::to Scott:: They have contained the virus?
Scott Coleridge: Looks like.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: then tastes the soup ::
Nijil tr'Korjata: Mmm. Temperatures are alright.
Chirakis: ::takes a deep breath, considers that, and slowly exhales::
Johnson Kenyon: ::in the science lab... evidently alone. Picking up programming PADD and modifying the simulation::
Chirakis: :::still somewhat skeptical about the virus being contained:::
Chirakis: ::too many "whys" and many more "whens" seem... menacing:::
Scott Coleridge: I'm hoping our new security measures prevent future issues, but I recommend we keep security on high alert for a few more days at least.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: He went to the replicator again :: Computer, one Rihan disruptor, early this century. Authorization gamma 2 3 9 0.
Jylliene: ::sends the modified list off to Nijil::
Chirakis: Agreed. And security is on high alert, especially given the situation on.... ::she stops, realizing that they are in an open area and some things should not be discussed here:::
Johnson Kenyon: ::programming the simulation with specific power output checks::
Jylliene: ::sends a few queries out to discover the need for some of the requests::
Scott Coleridge: ::nods, understanding::
Chirakis: ::Scott::: Commander, a moment in my office if you will.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Reaches in for the disruptor :: Well, this works.
Scott Coleridge: ::raises eyebrows:: All right.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Primes the weapon, then turns it off ::
Chirakis: :::turns to enter her office:::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Places it back on the replicator platform. :: Computer, recycle rihan weapon.
Johnson Kenyon: ::turns on the simulation::
Scott Coleridge: ::follows::
Chirakis: :::secures and door and initiates privacy::: Please. Have a seat. :::waves in that direction as she takes her chair:::
Scott Coleridge: ::takes a seat::
Alexis McFarland: ::with Miana and Annisha still::
Chirakis: To begin with, there is a reason why Missouri is in high orbit...
Chirakis: ...and they will not approach Aegis for a while.
Tarisa: ::Enters the science lab.::
Tarisa: Miana> ::Is with Alexis and Annisha.::
Chirakis: :::proceeds reading him in on the alien ship, the massive delta-winged ship that ran itself toward Aegis and how it is being handled on Missouri:::
Johnson Kenyon: ::I'm in the science lab::
Scott Coleridge: This is an Alien Alliance vessel?
Jylliene: ::settles back in with normal requests, and considers whether there are any additions she'd want to make to Annisha's room::
Chirakis: It was.
Scott Coleridge: I have to say I'm not comfortable that some members of the alliance have access to technology so sophisticated.
Nijil tr'Korjata: Annisha> When do au think we'll get back to a planet?
Jylliene: ((Never. Stuff always happens.))
Chirakis: It was the same ship we encountered at An-Ward, but manned by unknown aliens, not humanoids. Why we do not know. Commander, I don't believe it's a matter of having access, but having the knowledge to create it and use it at will.
Nijil tr'Korjata: Annisha > :: Looks around ::
Johnson Kenyon: ::watching the simulation alter::
Alexis McFarland: Which planet? I think we could if we wanted. I could ask my grampa to book us a flight on one of his ships.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: He had ran many tests on the replication systems without issue ::
Alexis McFarland: I hope it'll go down better than our last trip to a planet, though.
Nijil tr'Korjata: Annisha > Oh the planet was fine. Getting home wasn't. :: frowns ::
Tarisa: ::Spots Johnson, walking over to him.:; More simulations?
Alexis McFarland: Yes, that's true. ::clutches Miana::
Scott Coleridge: So Starfleet sent us 30 more engineers... any other sign of reinforcements?
Alexis McFarland: Though next time let's go somewhere where the bugs aren't as big.
Johnson Kenyon: ::noticing Tarisa:: Oh Commander!
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Someone brought PADDs to his desk to review. He nodded as he took them and started to read ::
Tarisa: Miana> Will they lets us go so soon after our incident?
Alexis McFarland: I hope so.
Chirakis: Yes, there is. There is reinforcement around the station. Reinforcement that we cannot see, furnished by the RSE. ::slight smile:: Friends in high places.
Tarisa: ::Nods.:: Hello.
Johnson Kenyon: I was thinking about how the virus moves around on the station.... seemingly randomly... so I ran a simulation and traced its movements to the power couplings.
Nijil tr'Korjata: Annisha > :: Shrugs :: Don't know. We may have to escape. Perhaps a field trip for school.
Johnson Kenyon: I'm... ::shakes his head:: I'm...
Alexis McFarland: Maybe, but it'd probably be to one of the nearby planets if its a field trip. ::thinks:: That'd be fine though, I never been to the planets around here other than the one your grandparents are in
Jylliene: ((::ears itch, as if somewhere, a child is plotting::))
Tarisa: This is quite the peculiar virus.
Johnson Kenyon: ::slaps his head before continuing:: Sorry... losing focus...
Johnson Kenyon: assuming the virus is of alien origin, it would not have to follow the typical programming.
Tarisa: ::Tilts head slightly at him.:: Do you need to rest?
Nijil tr'Korjata: Annisha > They could be anywhere. Their home is really a collection of containers. Guess they could live in space.
Johnson Kenyon: typically StarFleet programming.... ::thinking don't distract me::
Nijil tr'Korjata: Annisha > Farmers in space...
Alexis McFarland: Space farmers. Oooh. But we already live in space.
mimipavilion: ::going through messages::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Nijil starts to daydream, falls asleep for a few moments ::
Johnson Kenyon: typically programming... as I was saying... uses power in some minor amounts to transmit signals through the equipment.
Alexis McFarland: ::lays down on the grass::
Chirakis: ::notes his silence:::
Johnson Kenyon: ... the circuitry.... but what if they use the power couplings to transfer those signals and not just that minor amount of information
Scott Coleridge: That's comforting, to an extent.
Johnson Kenyon: ::stops and stares at Tarisa as if in a daze::
Scott Coleridge: But what about assets that don't make the shooty-shooty bang-bang?
Chirakis: Explain, Commander.
Johnson Kenyon: ::shakes his head and tries to refocus::
Tarisa: ::Nods.:: Mmm. I see.
Johnson Kenyon: ::wonders if she's really listening::
Scott Coleridge: More intelligence assets... more scientists...  if these species have all this technology, shouldn't we be actively trying to figure them out, instead of waiting for them to show up here and show off how impressive they are?
Tarisa: Miana> ::Lays down by Alexis.::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Wakes up ::
Johnson Kenyon: in short, if the virus were using the power relays instead of the data command relay, it could bypass our security
Alexis McFarland: I have family that are farmers on Earth and on Betazed.
Tarisa: We've managed to isolate the virus, but do you have an idea on how to safeguard the system from future attacks?
Johnson Kenyon: ::blinks::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Looks around, mumbles :: We got the time wrong.
Johnson Kenyon: ::blinks:::
Johnson Kenyon: ::holds his hands over his eyes and shuts them hard::
Chirakis: We are figuring them out as best we can, Commander. Hopefully Missouri's personnel will be able to decipher their codes, identify the composition of the hull, analyze the method of travel, et cetera.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Looks around at the padds, picks one up ::
Johnson Kenyon: if it is using the power grid to transmit it's signals, that would also explain why the malfunctions
Tarisa: ::Watching him.:: Do you need something to drink? The replicators are up again. I could get you something.
Chirakis: There are many questions that need to be answered. For now, we do the best we can and rely on the expertise of many.
Scott Coleridge: I suppose. Maybe I'm just wishing I could do more.
Johnson Kenyon: the power levels have to be precisely attuned to send and interpret the command path
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Gets up to find a mirror ::
Johnson Kenyon: ::Tarisa:: Has anyone told you how beautiful you are?
Chirakis: It is... a feeling of helplessness. But do not allow it to consume you.
Johnson Kenyon: ::continues along same thought as before as if that last bit was in his head:: If you want to stop the path of the signal, you put a firewall in it... here we have to stop the power transmissions which...
Johnson Kenyon: ironically have multiple backup systems.... making it very difficult to prevent
Scott Coleridge: I'll do my best.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Finds a reflective surface :: Hmm. I look overworked. :: spies the soup :: Oh. :: slurps some into his mouth :: Mmm. Wonder what this is...
Tarisa: ::Ears perk up, tail kind of stops. Cheeks turn a little red.::
Chirakis: Focus on the present, Commander. What we know, what we learn. And always remember that there are others backing us up, especially because Aegis is not the only target. The Joint Allied Powers are in this as well. I have no doubt that you will do your best.
Johnson Kenyon: To stop it, we need to put turn off as many backup systems as possible.
Tarisa: Uh...yes...that makes sense.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Finishes off the soup ::
Alexis McFarland: (lol)
Johnson Kenyon: ::eyes budge, mouthing:: Did I say that out loud?
Chirakis: Trust yourself, Commander. Trust those around you. They are not perfect, but none of us is.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Thinks of Nijil's mate ::
Alexis McFarland: ::thinks about which planet they might want to travel to next::
Nijil tr'Korjata: Annisha > Earth?
Nijil tr'Korjata: Annisha > Seems rather safe.. it has avoided many a disaster.
Tarisa: Miana> Ooo...I have never been there.
Alexis McFarland: ::smiles:: Sure! I can take you to New York City, that'd be fun.
Tarisa: ::Quietly nods.::
Nijil tr'Korjata: Annisha > Can't we visit York City first?
Scott Coleridge: What's our next move, then?
Tarisa: ::Trying not to blush harder than she already has.::
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Pokes his head out his office door ::
Alexis McFarland: If we go with Dacia, she can show us around London. Old York? I think that's in England too. Dacia told me that once.
Johnson Kenyon: ::looks at Tarisa and stares... stunned::
Cdr Wyatt Cayne: :: Looks over at Jylliene :: Ma'am, are you alright?
Chirakis: Our next move? That is in the future until we understand the present.
Johnson Kenyon: I think it's your tail... when I see it, I get mesmerized.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Walks out to the engineering room, nods as people pass him by ::
Chirakis: ::a light blinks on her console, she leans toward it and receives a message from Missouri::: And Missouri is making progress.
Johnson Kenyon: I wanted to mention it to you before, but thought it inappropriate with you being so highly ranked and all....
Jylliene: Hm? Yes, fine - just a lot of mundane reports. Thank you.
Cdr Wyatt Cayne: Try being undercover for months on a cold planet...
Tarisa: I... ::Tail slowly moves, so she grabs it, holding it to her side.::
Jylliene: No thank you. ::chuckles::
Cdr Wyatt Cayne: It's not a profession for everyone...or many at all.
Johnson Kenyon: I think you are probably the most beautiful and brilliant person I've ever met.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Walking around the room ::
Jylliene: It's certainly not for me, though I'm certainly glad there are those who can do it if needed.
Scott Coleridge: What have they found?
Chirakis: :::contemplates his classification::: They have deciphered their code.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Just people watched for some moments ::
Johnson Kenyon: Tarisa, is there someone in your department that might be able to help design a way to capture the virus in the power supply?
Chirakis: ::stands to escort him out::: Now, Commander.... relax and get some lunch. That is not a suggestion.
Tarisa: ::Is clearly flustered as she holds her tail, face getting a little more red.:: I...::Coughs slightly.:: D..drink? Water? Tea?
Cdr Wyatt Cayne: If you ever need someone undercover, give me a call Commander.
Scott Coleridge: Understood.
Jylliene: I will. ::grins::
Chirakis: ::exits with him:::
Nijil tr'Korjata: Annisha > Someone told me Vulcan, but they don't sound fun at all.
Tarisa: ::Clears head a seconds.:: I...can have Computer Sciences do it.
Scott Coleridge: Are you also having lunch?
Alexis McFarland: I've lived on Vulcan on several years... it's okay.
Scott Coleridge: ::trying to remember if Chirakis eats or just absorbs energy through sheer willpower::
Johnson Kenyon: ::goes to the food replicator and has it make some tea::
Chirakis: :::changes her expression to relaxed:: An excellent idea. Your choice. ::as they pass::: Commander Cayne, you have the con.
Nijil tr'Korjata: Annisha > A lot of desert looking things.
Johnson Kenyon: ::and water::
Tarisa: Miana> Mmmm
Alexis McFarland: If we go to Earth, I know lots of nice places to eat in NYC. ::hugs Miana:: ::to Annisha:: That too, though they have a big lake there too.
Johnson Kenyon: ::brings Tarisa some Earl Grey tea and cup of water
Chirakis: :::motions toward the turbolift:::
Chirakis: (two minutes)
Chirakis: (sheer willpower, of course)
Tarisa: ::Takes the tea.:: Thank you. ::Looks as he is handing the water as well.:: Did you not want something?
Alexis McFarland: Summer is coming up, we'll be out of school for a while.
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Thinks about holding this together for an hour... no disasters.. ::
Scott Coleridge: ::heads to the turbolift::
Chirakis: :::steps in::: Commerce Level.
Johnson Kenyon: ::looks at Tarisa in the eyes:: I think I have had plenty... I didn't know the type of tea you wanted so I got both tea and water
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Looks at the replication system, looks like his corrections worked ::
Chirakis: =/\==/\=PAUSE SIM=/\==/\=
Chirakis: =/\==/\=PAUSE SIM=/\==/\=
Chirakis: Thank you
Chirakis: Well done, as always. TBS will be until 5:00 PM - 1700.
Johnson Kenyon: ::paused::
Chirakis: Comments for the crew, Commander?
Scott Coleridge: Nope
Chirakis: Comments or questions from the crew?
Johnson Kenyon: curiosity only
Nijil tr'Korjata: Was fun
Chirakis: Next week is Thanksgiving in the US. We will have an unofficial sim.
Dacia Sandero: Yes very fun.
Chirakis: Therefore, if you have family obligations, you will not be docked any pay.
Chirakis: Crew dismissed. Be well. Be Safe. Don’t forget your towel.
