USS Excalibur Sim Log - 02.03.19

MISSION BRIEF: Excalibur finds itself lost time and wounded. Engineering has been working on making repairs, but things have been slow going. Swain has called a senior staff (everyone here) meeting to discuss progress updates, and more practically sort out a strategy for what's next for our intrepid, time-travlin' crew.

Cptn Swain: BEGIN SIM

Cptn Swain: BEGIN SIM

Cptn Swain: BEGIN SIM

Hunter Matheson: ::kinda dusty and sweaty from working on the helm console but not feeling all that bad, he drags himself into the meeting and finds a chair if they're still intact:::

Rhan K'hal: (( aren't we an Akira time-travelin' crew? ))

Irene Mincine: :: Irene rolls into the senior staff meeting in one of those Captain Pike wheelchairs. ::

Cptn Swain: ::still wishing he could justify using the replicators, but he had instead gotten himself a big water bottle::

Cptn Swain: ACTION> Irene means from the reboot movies, and it's just a normal wheelchair :P

Hunter Matheson: ::wiggles it to be sure it's attached, then sits::

Rhan K'hal: :: sitting next to Hak conversing quietly, both in the generic grey worksuits so that the only way you can tell them apart is by Hak's pointy chin-beard and Rhan's spikier mane ::

William Chocox: ::walks in, once again somehow sooty from the normally sterile Starfleet ships::

Maryse Dubois: ::Takes a seat at the table, But keeping an eye on Irene.::

Irene Mincine: "This is all we had left that wasn't smashed to pieces in sickbay." :: Whichever Pike, it fits comfortably at the conference table. ::

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: ::Miranda was sitting, resting, and hydrating while waiting on the others to assemble. Her jacket was draped over the back of her chair and she looked tired, though not in pain.::

William Chocox: ::is wearing just his uniform vest::

Cptn Swain: ::Is still wearing the bomber jacket, because he can.::

William Chocox: So...how?

Cptn Swain: So let’s start with engineering, since that will help us with the next parts. How are things coming?

William Chocox: They're...they're coming. But so is Federation Day.

Indaura Ryssan: :: Working in medical ::

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: We've teams working to restore power to most of the major systems, though our nacelle is still badly damaged. Chocox and I will be doing some space walking to repair some of that and get the ship mobile. Right now, we can probably cycle power between various departments, as needed.

Indaura Ryssan: :: Trying to not think of when they are ::

Cptn Swain: ::Nods::

Irene Mincine: :: Irene is listening intently, though at times it seems she loses focus on what's going on. ::

Cptn Swain: Good. I have confirmed we're in essentially the same location where we were uh 100 years in the future.

Irene Mincine: :: She spoke up. :: "Were we able to find anything concrete about the area in our historical library?"

Cptn Swain: Nothing particularly interesting. This area was relatively low priority for Starfleet.

Rhan K'hal: ::q:: Note to self, everywhere is important. Just in case.

Hunter Matheson: ::quiet, listening and watching::

Cptn Swain: We have a few options for long term respite and repairs that should keep us out of the prying eyes of any passing ships, but I wanted to get input on which one of the three to choose.

Cptn Swain: ::Leans forwards to activate the holoemitters at the center of the table.::

Hunter Matheson: ::sits back, relaxing::

Cptn Swain: First option is the safest, in terms of someone stumbling onto us. It's a Binary system with a large asteroid belt and a gas giant with a small class-M moon. But it is the furthest away.

Cptn Swain: ::Cycles:: Next is a bit closer, and offers decent harbor with a large asteroid belt with a large concentration of dolomite, which would obscure sensors of the period. No habitable planets, however.

Hunter Matheson: ::checking the area between here and there, wanting to know more so he can figure some clandestine routes::

Maryse Dubois: :;Studying the holos.::

Rhan K'hal: :: not impressed ::

Hunter Matheson: ::it's kind of automatic when options are on the table to be sure what's between here and there:::

Cptn Swain: ::Cycles:: Finally this is the closest. But we're concerned about the asteroid belt as well as the system being relatively nearer a shipping lane for the early Tamaran Empire.

William Chocox: ::watches as the holos cycle::

Irene Mincine: "Didn't we already discuss this?" :: Irene looked puzzled. :: "We went with the... the first one, right?"

Cptn Swain: There is also a relatively large, uninhabited M-Class planet.

Indaura Ryssan: :: In the back at the meeting ::

Hakran K'hal: :: looks over at Irene, his ears in "fascinating" formation ::

Cptn Swain: ::Lifts brows:: Ensign?

Maryse Dubois: I think contaminating the timeline is a major concern, so option 3 should be out at all costs.

William Chocox: I agree with Doctor Dubois.

Irene Mincine: "We went over this. Maryse didn't want to contaminate the timeline. I remember that." :: She looked to Maryse, who spoke at the same time she did. ::

Maryse Dubois: And though Option 1 seems the safest, do we know if the Moon has civilization? If so, then it should not be an option either.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: Though we might have to consider an M-Class planet, eventually, if we are going to renew our limited resources. ::Arms crossed as she leaned back.::

Maryse Dubois: :;Stops a moment.::

Hakran K'hal: :: pulls out his tricorder and scans Irene, wondering how many chronitons she had with her Cheerios ::

Irene Mincine: "What?" :: The readings were pretty wacky, to say the least. ::

Hunter Matheson: ::leans forward:: Captain, sir?

Cptn Swain: ::Glances at Irene for a very long moment, before looking to Miranda again:: That was my thought.

Cptn Swain: Yes, Mister Matheson?

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: I think an *uninhabited* M-Class planet would be safe enough.

Hakran K'hal: :: ears go to "fascinating" level 2 ::

Indaura Ryssan: :: Raises her hand a bit ::

Hunter Matheson: Agreeing with the commander, sir, since we might never be able to get back to our own time, I take option one. But I'd like to see the map from here to there first, to see if there's a viable route that would take us there, or if I can weave us thought several unoccupied areas to get there.

Rhan K'hal: Plus we have to get there at not-very-fast even for this neck of the spacetime woods ::

Hunter Matheson: Anything we have in the database that's going to give us a stellar map between here and there? An old navigational map?

Irene Mincine: :: Irene gives Hakran a look. :: "You're scaring me, lieutenant."

Cptn Swain: ::Nods, brings up the records:: Apparently there was a starship in this region doing gaseous anomaly mapping at some point in the period.

Cptn Swain: Yes, Doctor uh Ryssan, correct?"

Hunter Matheson: ::checking them out, mentally calculating several things:::

Hakran K'hal: :: thinking "not nearly as much as you're scaring me" but puts on a calmer look :: "We and your care team need to have a talk after this is over, Irene."

Indaura Ryssan: Right. I'm no engineer, but are we able to make our signature look like a ship from this era?

Cptn Swain: ::Glances to the engineers::

Indaura Ryssan: Helm is going to have a dandy of a time as it is.

Maryse Dubois: We need to think of worse case scenarios as well. In the event we are unable to return, we are sitting on a piece of technology that no one will see for roughly 100 years. And I don't think I need to remind anyone that we are on the wrong side of the border.

Irene Mincine: :: Irene hmphs. :: "Of course, Doctor K'hal."

Cptn Swain: ::Clears his throat:: If it comes to that, I will do what my oath to the temporal prime directive requires, but for now we're going to focus on making repairs and finding some place safer to settle in for a bit while we try to figure a way home.

Maryse Dubois: ::Nods.::

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: Masking our signature won't be a problem once the ship has been repaired. But we have more important repairs to see to before we ever get to that point. Right now, we just need to hide.

Hunter Matheson: Uh... Captain?

Hunter Matheson: Thinking about the Class-M moon, sign of habitation there?

Hakran K'hal: :: is making copious notes on a padd, constantly referring back to his tricorder readings of Irene ::

Indaura Ryssan: We should have a cover story, if we need one.

Cptn Swain: Nothing we could see with our long range and going through historical records of the period. Other than flora and fauna.

Hunter Matheson: Aye, sir.

Cptn Swain: What kind of warp speed can we expect with just one nacelle?

Indaura Ryssan: :: Thinks impulse ::

Irene Mincine: "Flora and fauna, my two favorite things." :: Irene perked up hearing the captain, then looked up at the ceiling. :: "Hm?"

William Chocox: Um...slower than anything from our era. I don't know enough about ships of this era to give you a better comparison.

Indaura Ryssan: How with only one?

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: If we modify the current nacelle to create a warp field on its own, we could probably go half to a third of our max capability.

Rhan K'hal: There have been ships with only one nacelle in the history of warp travel. Obviously it's a bit lopsided for this design but that can be accounted for.

Cptn Swain: Good. Alright so it's settled, we'll head for option 1.

Hunter Matheson: :::leans back, waiting for the skipper's attention again::

Irene Mincine: "We'll be lucky to get Warp 5 out of--" :: Irene looked up at the dormant red alert panel on the wall, agitated. :: "Alert? Now what?" :: She started rolling her chair back from the conference table. ::

Hunter Matheson: ::nods to option one::

Hakran K'hal: :: looks up sharply and re-scans Irene ::

Maryse Dubois: ::Had been watching Irene's behavior for a while, her arms folded as she was thinking.::

Cptn Swain: Which has some idiotic scientific notation as a name, so we're just going to call it Sarras.

Cptn Swain: ::Does that captain-can-only-do-polite throat clear:: Perhaps, Doctor, you should take Ensign Mincine to sickbay?

Maryse Dubois: Yeah. ::Stands.:: I think you're right. :;Walks over to Irene, holding her wheelchair.::

Hakran K'hal: With your permission, Captain, I need to join them. I think Irene is likely going to be the key to figuring out what happened to us and how to get home. :: smiles at Irene :: But no pressure.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: ::Had tensed at Irene's sudden departure, but relaxed as the doctor took control. She was frowning again.::

William Chocox: Sarras?

Hunter Matheson: :::still waiting for the skipper's attention::

Cptn Swain: ::Lifts a brow:: Yes, of course. I do want a more full report on how we got here in the first place, but it can wait.

Maryse Dubois: ::Takes Irene out of the room.::

William Chocox: Anything in particular with that name?

Cptn Swain: ::Turns his attention back to the matter at hand:: Sarras? It's where they took the holy grail.

Hakran K'hal: :: nods, then turns to follow the medical procession ::

Cptn Swain: In one version anyway.

Irene Mincine: :: Beep boop. Chroniton flux or something, it's hard to tell on a tricorder. :: "Can't you hear that? What are you all sitting around here for? The warp field's unbalanced! We didn't purge the radiation from the plasma channel! We're all gonna die!" :: As she was rolled away from the room. ::

Indaura Ryssan: :: Follows Dubois and Mincine ::

Hunter Matheson: Sir? ::Swain::

Rhan K'hal: Will, do me a favor and take a note of what Irene was howling about. If Hak thinks she's important about time travel, I'm slightly inclined to take her seriously.

Maryse Dubois: ::Gets her into the TL.:: We aren't at warp, Irene.

Hakran K'hal: But we will be, Doctor.

Hakran K'hal: And I don't think Irene is all here. At least temporally.

William Chocox: Aye. ::types it on a PADD::

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: If Option 1 is going to be the furthest away, then we need to plan out a route that will take us around inhabited areas where we might come into contact with others in this area.

Hunter Matheson: Captain?

Cptn Swain: Yes?

Hunter Matheson: From what I see on this map, getting there is doable, but it'll be round-about and pretty slow. Evasive maneuvers possible in several areas, just so we don't leave a print in one direction. This would be with our without warp, sir. Problem might be fuel if we're limited.

Maryse Dubois: ::Lets the door close.:: And she mentioned my conversation in the meeting. She said I had already said it, but I clearly didn't.

Maryse Dubois: I wonder if this has something to do with the "wash."

Indaura Ryssan: :: Still with them, just keeping quiet ::

Maryse Dubois: ::Gets Irene back into sickbay and in her private room.::

Irene Mincine: "Antimatter containment is falling... it...!" :: Irene screamed and passed out as she arrived in her private room. Probably for the best. ::

Cptn Swain: Well, work on a flight plan and submit it to myself and Commander Hawthorne. Rhan, I am going to need you start putting together a grocery store list for that M-class moon. Engineering, I think you know what you have ahead of you, but submit a list of supplies you need as well.

Indaura Ryssan: Doctor Dubois, I will be out here if you need me.

Maryse Dubois: ::Nods to Indaura.::

Hunter Matheson: Aye, sir.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne: ::She nodded at threw Chocox a glance.::

Cptn Swain: The sooner we can get out of the open the better.

Hakran K'hal: :: sighs, looking down at Irene :: She's in severe temporal displacement. Not that that has a diagnosis code, and I need better information, but I wouldn't discount her seeing... possibilities at least.

William Chocox: Got it sir.

Indaura Ryssan: :: Inventorying medical supplies ::

Maryse Dubois: ::Helps get Irene in bed, then turn to Hakran.:: She came up with a device to help remove extra chronitons from the body to help with healing. We used it on her kidney wound. It was working, but her vital started going all over the place, so I stopped. The device is on the table there. ::Hands him the device.::

Cptn Swain: ..and...

Hakran K'hal: :: glances at it :: My biologist coming up with a chroniton vacuum. ::shakes head::

Maryse Dubois: I inspected the formula myself before assembly. It was sound, but there must have been an outside variable

Hakran K'hal: I'll have Issaha take a look at this, and if you can supply any bioscans. In the meanwhile, I'd like to upgrade your biobed scanner with a much higher accuracy chroniton scanner.
