Ensign Garnoopy Personal Log

Stardate 50212.18

While in my quarters, I received a message from the computer informing of unsuccessful attempts to access classified Starfleet files by a Reaent crewmember. I will look into this matter after R and R is over.

The human requirement for relaxation is a strange one. A relaxed person does not react quickly to attacks made against them, leaving them vulnerable. It is an unwise way to die, to be caught unaware.

I left my quarters and stepped into the turbolift where I ran into Ensign Travis. The Ensign had a small animal with him, which he calls a "cat". The animal was small and weak, not at all a powerful animal. Travis had named this cat O'Connor. I do not see the point of having a weak animal with you. The cat hissed at me, which did not concern me one bit, that cat wouldn't have survived a second if he had attacked me.

Ensign Travis explained the cat was probably worried I'd eat him, however, the cat was to small and hairy for my pallet, and I informed Travis that if I had wanted to eat the cat, it wouldn't still be there right then.

I headed onto the station to a bar where Lt. Shamor was located. I ordered a prune juice and talked with Shamor about relaxation and why I joined the Reaent. Lt. Shamor requested I call him "Jon" when were not on duty.

Knowing Shamor was move familiar with the holoprograms that were designed to practice fighting skills, I requested he show me a good one and we decided to have a battle together to test our skills.
