It isn't the Western part of Virginia!!!

Not any more, but it was.  It was the part of Virginia that wouldn't abide slavery and broke from Virginia to join with the North in the Civil War and be a free state.  So, say what you will about its current reputation, it started off on very noble footing.

amen to that A-9!!! (although about half the state really liked slavery..it's wierd...we had to learn all about it in West Virginia History...hehe I won a 'Golden Horseshoe' for my knowledge of the state)

and we from west virginia appreciate it. also, you will not find a prettier state or a more patriotic one either

Yeah, which state is that? Toss us people who suck at US Geography a bone here.   :D

Oh, I live in Toronto, Ontario -- The largest (and best city in Canada :D), and home of the almighty Toronto Maple Leafs!

OK, just for the fun of it (I know this isn't Toronto, but...):

::starts to play music::  In NIagra falls Onatario, marineland is the place to go...Seeing friends you miss, a great big Kiss...Everyone love Marine land....::takes a bow::

Its sad to learn that a Jingle stays in your mind forever.

Anyway, I learned that jingle from growing up in Buffalo, New York...beloved home of the Buffalo Sabres :D (what can I say--I am a loyal fan :D).  Fours years ago my family moved across the US and I have been living in Nebraska ever since.

(Did you like my song, Seiben?...Im sure you've heard it too :D)

And Buffalo wings!  Don't forget them.

From Buffalo to Nebraska?  Man, that's culture shock!  I sympathise.  In high school I moved from literally a stone's throw from the Pacific Ocean to Omaha.  That really sucked!

How bad did it suck?  Well, I joined the Army right out of high school just to get out of the state.  There is only one thing worse than Ft. Leonard Wood, MO as a soldier, and that is Omaha as a civilian.

Oh God!!!  How I miss my native food--especially my wings!!  And for everyone else :D If they say buffalo wings or hot wings, they are not the real thing unless they are from Bflo, NY. :D

Van Roy, I totaly agree about Omaha .  I am in Omaha for college, and as soon as I graduate next year I am out of here and headed west .

see, you don't even have to know what it is like to have stores open 24hr... You can just see how much better life is ::D:

Especially when you need gas at 4 in the morning and then realize you are SOL because gas stations close at 11pm in rural NE.  ::sigh::

Oh, I miss those too, but I'd give up 24hr convenience to live in a county that was not semi DRY!   :D

Marine Land, I been there so many times.. got splashed by killer whales from the 4th row, and I got heat butted by a deer.  Maybe I'll just stick with Paramount Canada's Wonderland. But, Nemmie, I don't really see Maine Land commercials on YTV.   :D  BTW, what's in Western NY? A bunch of truck stops, was all I ever saw.   :D
