Mission Brief |Sky Harbor Aegis | 18 August 2018
29 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.119

TBS is 9.5 hours.  The time is 0700 hours (7:00 AM) Aegis local.

Alpha Watch has begun.

Aegean successfully intercepted the science ship, Toq-Pan-Jri.  Both ships are about to dock at Aegis.  As a precaution, Task Force Aegis remains on standby in docking orbit.

An inquiry into the cause of Toq-Pan-Jri’s change of flight plans will hopefully uncover the cause of the navigation problem that Aegean and Task Force Aegis encountered.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 24  August 2018
29 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.119

TBS is 1 hour.  The time is 0900 hours (9:00 AM) Aegis local.

Aegean and toq-Pan-Jri have returned. Aegean is in her private berth at the station; Toq-pan-Jri is berthed at the shipyard for system evaluation. Because both ships experienced interference with their navigation and communication sensors, a warning has been broadcast to the sector.  Task Force Aegis remains in defensive orbit of Aegis.

Our little red dot in the middle of the OPS console is not going away any time soon. It shows on the external communications console, but not internal.  The blink seems to be coming from nebula 236-a.  The blinks are irregular, like a code, but the computer does not match it with any known code.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 31  August 2018
29 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.119

TBS is zero. The time is 1100 hours (11:00 AM) Aegis local.

We are in the middle of a conundrum.  Our friendly (or not so friendly) blinking red light in the vicinity of Nebula 236A does not want to stop blinking—a testimony to persistence beyond measure.

At sim begin, Captain Ramson will call command (everyone) to the conference room for a meeting to discuss the situation.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 7 September 2018
29 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.119

TBS is 2 hours. The time is 1400 hours (2:00 PM) Aegis local.

The strange red dot continues to flash while we hunt for answers.

  1. Commander Coleridge outlined three phenomena for exploration:
  2. The communications and navigation issues in proximity to the nebula;
  3. Our Ops station experiencing the red light;
  4. USS Missouri reporting a similar blinking light.

Regarding the light:

  1. Aegis sensors have not found anything unusual.
  2. The light appears to come from the vicinity of Nebula 236A.
  3. Attempts to communicate with it via code have failed so far.
  4. The communications array seems to be the light’s target.
  5. There is a possibility that the light could be from a creature, an artificial intelligence, or something else that is attempting to reach out.

Commander Coleridge ordered the following:

  1. Science will configure and send a probe toward the light.
  2. Medical will focus on trying other methods of communication, such as telepathic and symbolic.
  3. Security will try to discover why Aegis and USS Missouri are the only ones experiencing the light.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 14 September 2018
29 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.119

TBS is 1 hour.  The time is 1600 hours (4:00 PM) Aegis local.

Over the last 12 hours, we have been stymied by a red dot that appeared on Mission Operations consoles on Aegis and USS Missouri.  Although it—or something that was controlling it—seemed to be trying to communicate, it never succeeded.  To facilitate the communication, medical has been working on communication via enhanced telepathy by using a psionic verbalizer.

Meanwhile, science’s long-range probe detected a void of nothingness in a perimeter around the dot, “...no life signs, no debris, no space dust, just nothing.”  Was this a pocket of null space, or some kind of buffer between our space and another space?  A conduit between areas of space?  A conduit between universes?  Since this particular area of space—nebula 236a—is known to trap ships and cause disruptions in communication and navigation, it is possible that we might be dealing with null space.

Captain Ramson requested Ops to send a hail towards the target location, using a basic language code.  Whatever “it” is sent a response, but the code is untranslatable.

At sim begin we are still working to solve the conundrum.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 21 September 2018
29 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.119

TBS is 10 minutes. The time is 1710 hours (5:10 PM) Aegis local.

In our hunt for information about the strange events coming from nebula 236a, we believe that  that there is a sentient presence behind—or on the other side of—the red dot, which is somewhere within null space.  Normally, null space is a pocket, but in this case it could be a conduit.

As far as contact is concerned, we have had no comprehensive replies from our “red dot” friends.  We have not been able to decipher their code or translate their language.  The only understandable response we have had is from an image that came from the crew of USS Vladivostok, but its meaning is still uncertain.

Our last attempt at communication will be engineered by Drs Sandero and Pavilion, and Ensign Kenyon.  They have configured a psionic verbalizer that should enhance Dr. Dandero’s telepathy.  At sim begin they will attempt to get a response.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis |5 October 2018
29 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.119

TBS is 1 hour.
The time is 2040 hours (8:40 PM) Aegis local.

The new species has come forward, one at a time.  They are highly advanced physically and technologically.  They are on the one ship we believe they brought through the conduit in Nebula 236A.  They are keeping their distance, reason unknown.

Dr. Sandero and USS Missouri’s Captain d’Ka have made a telepathic connection with the one being.  It has given both of them information on their species, where they are from, how they traveled here and why, and what they want from this galaxy.

At sim begin, Captain Ramson will call everyone  to the conference room.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis |12  October 2018
29 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.119

TBS is 9 hours. The time is 0700 hours (7:00 AM) Aegis local.

We are on the periphery of First Contact with a highly advanced humanoid race.  Whether they have made First Contact with us or we have made First Contact with them is immaterial. It is a strange situation for both, and for now, both we and they tread lightly.

They call themselves the Dahlem, and they come from a system on the outskirts of the Large Magellanic Cloud, some 25,000 LY away.  They are telepathically, technologically, and physically advanced, and they have been exploring for thousands of years, though this is the first time they have entered our area of space.  They are benevolent to the point of concern for our welfare, especially that the possibility of close contact could overwhelm our species and result in death.

Their starship, massive in comparison to anything we know of, is in Aegis orbit. At sim begin it will be 0700 on the second day of our First Contact.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis |19  October 2018
29 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.120

TBS is 5 minutes. The time is 0905 hours (9:05 AM) Aegis local.

The Dahlem science vessel, Voad, is in Aegis orbit.  Her commanding officer, Captain Aayrn, beamed to Aegis CnC with the permission of Captain Chirakis.  Captain Ramson remained in her office because, as a Minaran, she is an open telepath, and contact with the Dahlem captain could compromise Starfleet security.

The issues addressed:

  • The conduit that compromised navigation and communication for our starships is being altered so Aegis vessels will be safe.
  • Dahlem clothing shields them from cosmic rays.
  • The Dahlem are able to “turn off” their telepathy and other powerful abilities at will.
  • The commander who came earlier not only furnished information to us through Dr. Sandero and Captain d’Ka, he took information about us so they would know how to approach First Contact.
  • What appears to us as instantaneous travel is not instantaneous to them.
  • Regarding the crew of USS Vladivostok, a Dahlem construction crew looking for minerals rescued them. They lacked the expertise to properly treat and feed them.  As a result, several of the crew died.

At sim begin, Captain Chirakis, Captain Aayrn, and Lt Garand are in the CnC lounge.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis |26  October 2018
30 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.121

TBS is 15 hours.  The time is 1200 hours (12:00 PM) Aegis local.

Captain Aayrn has returned to the Dahlem ship, Voad, that remains in Aegis orbit.
Our science team, Commander Tarisa and Ensign Dran, were unable to gather much information from the Dahlem captain. Apparently the Dahlem clothing not only shields them from cosmic rays, it shields them from our sensor systems.

We have many questions for the Dahlem.  Though they do not differ from an ordinary human, there are several things that science would like to investigate.

At sim begin, Captain Ramson will call Commander Coleridge and Captain Chirakis to a conference regarding a visit to the Voad.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis |16 November 2018
30 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.121

TBS is 1 hour.  The time is 1720 hours (5:20 PM) Aegis local.

After a harrowing 4 hour experience aboard the Dahlem Ship, Voad, the away team returns to find out that they were gone less than an hour.

Because the away team was “reporting some very disturbing perceptual discrepancies”, Commander Coleridge has ordered a thorough medical examination for the team members: Cpt Chirakis, Dr. Pavilion, LtCdr Tarisa, and Ens Dran.

Captain Chirakis left Commander Coleridge a datachip that holds information on their experience.  The the team’s tricorders also have information that might be of use.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis |23 November 2018
1 May 2388 - Stardate 2388.122

TBS is 12.5 hours.  The time is 0700 hours (7:00 AM) Aegis local.

Commander Coleridge’s debrief with the away team that went aboard the Dahlem ship, Voad, generated more questions than answers.

Science and engineering will analyze the away team’s datachip and tricorder scans from the Voad.  That information should help improve our sensors.  Dr. Pavilion and Ensign Dran have been ordered to make a full workup on the cosmic ray suits and anything else they have.  Everyone is to submit a more detailed report.

Soon after the debrief, Captain Chirakis had a surprise visit with the Voad'’s Captain Aayrn aboard the USS Missouri. After asking him many questions, she left with a sample of the Dahlem captain’s blood and took it immediately to Dr Pavilion for analysis.  The results have not been divulged.

At sim begin, Midshipman Theo will report to Commander Coleridge with his orders and credentials.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis |30 November 2018
1 May 2388 - Stardate 2388.122

TBS is 4 hours. The time is 1200 hours (12:00 PM) Aegis local.

After what is now known as the “Dahlem Incident”,  the station settles down to Aegis normal.

Dr Pavilion and Ens Dran continue to study the composition of the cosmic ray protective suits.  Dr. Sandero’s analysis of the Dahlem captain’s blood has verified its alien authenticity. Its composition has been entered into the Starfleet Medical Database.

Captain Chirakis submitted her mission report to Commander Coleridge. The report included the results from Dr Sandero, as well as Captain Aayrn’s ability to travel through space without a ship.  It was also noted that the Dahlem do not engage in hand-to-hand defense, which leads to a very low tolerance for pain.  Captain Chirakis believes that the Dahlem might rely more on their telepathic ability than physical contact.  As a precaution, Commander Cayne is keeping a close watch on the Dahlem’s conduit.

Captain Ramson is still held hostage by Starfleet Command, reason unknown, though SF Command always has a reason, if none other than to discuss the weather.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis |7 December 2018
1 May 2388 - Stardate 2388.122

TBS is zero. The time is 1300 hours (1:00 PM) Aegis local.

The Dahlem conduit is presently inactive.

Science and medical are still examining the Dahlem’s body cloak.

Engineering is examining the fusion reactor that is operating at higher than normal power while the secondary reactor is operating at minimal power.

Security is investigating a requisition for 50 bottles of hydroelectric acid (which does not exist) by a group called The Foundry (which is not a registered business).

Otherwise, Aegis has settled down to normalcy.

1 May 2388 - Stardate 2388.122

TBS is 3 hours. The time is 1700 hours (5:00 PM) Aegis local.

Science is still examining the Dahlem cosmic ray suit.  They have had little success so far.

SubCommander Korjata and Ltjg Kenyon discuss the difference between the present and past incarnations of the station while they investigate the cause of the power drain.

The “bomb-making” children have been released to their parents.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis |27 December 2018
4 May 2388 - Stardate 2388.125

TBS is 2 days. The time is 0700 hours (7:00 AM) Aegis local.

For the last 2 days things have moved smoothly on Aegis. Dr Sandero has recovered from her DNA incident with the Dahlem suit.  Since there might be a biological component to the suit, it has been transferred to the security vault.

Engineering is still hunting the cause of the power drain.

As far as we know, Annisha, Alexis, and Miana have left Volnar and are en route to Aegis, ETA now 2 days.  However, Aegis has not received the usual progress report from their cargo vessel, Argos II. Their security detail has been following an hour behind. Commanded by Ens Gila Orrak, they continue on, believing that the Rihan cargo vessel has cloaked for safety.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis |4 January 2019
4 May 2388 - Stardate 2388.125

TBS is 1 hour. The time is 0900 hours (9:00 AM) Aegis local.

Two days into their return to Aegis, the Rihan freighter Argos II has crash-landed on a small planet on the edge of an unpredictable structured nebula.  Dr. Y’shta has treated the injured.  For reasons unknown, the emergency systems of the Argos II shut off power from the AQS. The crew is now attempting to enable main power.  Their security detail, led by Ens Orrak aboard the Warren, has turned back to search for the freighter.

On Aegis, the parents of Annisha, Alexis, and Miana have been informed that the freighter is overdue for a check in but command is investigating.  Cmdr Coleridge and Capt Chirakis are checking the Warren's logs looking for indications of what actually happened.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis |11 January 2019
4 May 2388 - Stardate 2388.125

TBS is 2 hours. The time is 1200 hours (12:00 AM) Aegis local.

For no apparent reason, the Rihan cargo vessel, Argos II,  lost power suddenly and crash landed on a remote planet.  Ten years ago, geologist and paleontologist Dr. Jeremiah Brubaker crash landed on the same planet under the same circumstances.  Argos Erei'Riov Kushana and Dr Brubaker are sharing information in the hope that their ship can be repaired.

On Aegis, installation of the Dahlem sensor grid upgrades is close to completion.  Some work must be done to make them fully functional.  Hopefully the sensors will help us locate the missing freighter, Argos II.  Shuttle Warren is in the area with Ens Orrak on Search and Rescue.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis |18 January 2019
6 May 2388 - Stardate 2388.127

TBS is 2 days. The time is 1400 hours (2:00 PM) Aegis local.

During what was 2 days Aegis time, 3 days have passed on the planet that has now claimed two ships. Dr Brubaker has opened his small home to any of Argos II who are allowed to leave the ship.  On this 3rd day, Dr Y’shta has accompanied the children to Dr Brubaker’s home where they are enjoying their time with Whippet, the pond, and a few dazzling colored stones that they have found.

On Aegis, the upgraded sensor grid has detected distortion waves that conform to planetary gravity wells where the Argos II disappeared. SubCommander Korjata, Lieutenant (jg) Kenyon, and Lt Commander Tarisa left on the Nei’rrh in search of Argos II.  Shuttlecraft Warren is in the area using a narrowed search grid from Aegis’ upgraded sensors.

At sim begin, Nei’rrh will be approaching the search area to rendezvous with the shuttle Warren.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis |25 January 2019
6 May 2388 - Stardate 2388.127

TBS is zero. The time is 1500 hours (3:00 PM) Aegis local.

Aegis’ upgraded sensor grid detected distortion waves that conform to planetary gravity wells close to the area where the Argos II disappeared. It also detected shadows, one of which could be the planetoid where they crash landed.

While Nei’rrh and Shuttle Warren were searching that area, their vessels were engulfed by a wave that cut their power.  Not long after, those on planet saw light similar to aurora borealis in the sky. Since they were not at warp when the wave hit, they were not drawn into the planet’s gravity well.  However, they did lose power, but are holding their own as they make repairs.

At sim begin, science is focusing its sensor scans on shadows of a planetoid and making a gravity map of the area.  The Nei’rrh and Shuttle Warren are under repair close to the planetoid. The children and Dr Y’shta are ready to enjoy Dr Brubaker’s fresh vegetables.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis |1 February 2019
6 May 2388 - Stardate 2388.127

TBS is 15 minutes. The time is 1615 hours (4:15 PM) Aegis local.

In the midst of a critical situation, Captain Ramson has been reassigned, leaving Captain Chirakis in command of Aegis.

Argos II continues with repairs on a nebula planetoid.  Annisha, Alexis, Miana, Doctor Y’shta and the crew of Argos II are presently stranded where geologist Dr. Brubaker was stranded 10 years ago.  Communication from the planetoid is impossible until power is restored to Argos II.

While searching for Argos II, the Nei’rrh and Shuttle Warren lost power when a strange wave passed around them then dissipated in the nebula.  As they work quickly to restore power, the two ships are unaware of their proximity to the planetoid.

On Aegis, Ltjg Dran and Ens Dumont are close to understanding what causes sudden power loss near the nebula.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis |8 February 2019
6 May 2388 - Stardate 2388.127

TBS is Zero. The time is 1715 hours (5:15 PM) Aegis local.

On the nebular planetoid, Argos ll is spaceworthy, but not completely repaired.  The children, Commander Kushana, Dr. Y'shta, Dr Brubaker, and Whippet are headed toward the ship.

In orbit of the nebular planetoid, Nei’rrh has reestablished communication with Aegis and Shuttle Warren, and has picked up Argos II’s distress signal.  Nei’rrh has extended its modified shields to protect the Warren from another wave.

On Aegis, advanced sensors detected a solar prominence in the nebula that could be a negative reaction between nebular particles and a dwarf star.  We still have not determined if there is a nebula or the atmosphere is a “very weird star”.

8 May 2388 - Stardate 2388.129

TBS is 13 hours. The time is 700 hours (7:00 AM) Aegis local.

USS Iowa and USS Kole are en route to Aegis, ETA sometime today.
First rotation Alpha watch has begun.  All personnel should be at their posts.
Since Iowa and Kole are running dark, Dr Y’shta has been unable to forward medical records.
However, Drs Pavilion and Sandero have alerted the medical complex and are fully prepared.
