USS REPUBLIC MISSION BRIEFING 51804.23- Season 26

USS REPUBLIC MISSION BRIEFING 51804.23- Season 26

The crew was meeting to discuss the situation on the planet and see if they could come up with any reason why these anomalies could be happening. It had been concluded that fragments from a neutron star may have hit the plant via a comet, and we speculate that they may be a direct cause, however we've yet to explain the lights.

Holly may have a theory.

Heather Jamieson: :: In the conference room ::

STSF Seiben: ::sitting next to Heather::

STSF_BluRox: ::Noting that boring details have made half of those in attendance about ready to nod off::

STSF Seiben: ::could use a snooze::

STSF_BluRox: :: clears throat:: Perhaps before we go further, why don't we take a 5 minute break, get something to drink and if you need to use the facilities::

STSF_BluRox: If you'll excuse me for a moment. :: deciding to take advantage of the break herself::

August Jax Robinson: ;;flees to the exit::

STSF Seiben: ::someone had to, pours himself a glass of water::

STSF_BluRox: :: calls behind her:: And make sure you come back....in time::

August Jax Robinson: right

STSF_BluRox: Holly> :: a little annoyed that the humanoids have to keep taking these breaks. They had almost gotten to her report

Heather Jamieson: I need a coffee.

STSF Seiben: Yeah, I'm kinda hungry as well

Heather Jamieson: :: Goes to get a coffee ::

STSF Seiben: ::heads out to the mess area, grabs a coffee and some food::

Heather Jamieson: :: Orders an Americano ::

STSF_BluRox: :: heads back to the conference room, hoping that a little caffeine and sugar will have woken them::

STSF Seiben: ::gets a double-double::

Heather Jamieson: :: reenters the conference room ::

Heather Jamieson: :: eyes widen ::

STSF Seiben: ::takes a quick trip to the little Seiben's room, then returns to the conference room once he's finished his business

STSF Seiben: ::sips his coffee::

August Jax Robinson: ::reenters the CR with a triple latte expresso:::

STSF_BluRox: Ok, everyone with us now?

Heather Jamieson: :: nods ::

STSF_BluRox: Holly> I've been ready...

STSF Seiben: Yes.

STSF_BluRox: Blu> Holly.....just the results please....

STSF_BluRox: Holly> Fine...... Ok, so as I had noted earlier, there seems to be some sort of signal or harmonic that we've not been able to figure out.

STSF Seiben: ::Sips his coffee"::

STSF_BluRox: Holly> I've been working on this pretty much full time, but have yet to been able to determine how or why

Heather Jamieson: :: Thinks about the harmonic ::

STSF Seiben: Hmm. ::sip::

STSF_BluRox: So the next question :: Blu looks around the room:: Is to determine what is causing this. Is it just a side effect of the neutron fragments, some sort of radiation?

STSF_BluRox: Is this just some sort of vibration being caused by the energy in the fragments and it's radiating outward?

STSF_BluRox: Or, is there really some sort of message.

STSF_BluRox: Any thoughts?

Heather Jamieson: I would surmise a reaction with something in the ground upon impact.

STSF_BluRox: Please explain, for those here that may not be in that field of science

Heather Jamieson: The fragments were traveling extremely fast. The impact could have changed the structure of metals under the surface. Both the fragments and the surrounding area would have been superheated.

Heather Jamieson: On the surface it looks recovered, but under the ground, where we can't scan reliably, changes occurred.

Heather Jamieson: That said, I've not seen anything like this in the science database.

Heather Jamieson: I can't say I want to go back to the area.
